Very disappointed. Read all the reviews and thought this must be a great place. The beds were very un comfortable. The toilet rocked back and forth. The rug in the bathroom was filthy. Very old hotel. No hair conditioner. The food at the restaurant was really good but very pricey . The room had a bad smell to it. The room was $176.00 for one night. Too high for what u get here. Would not stay here again. Maybe the other rooms r better than Rm 222 but I would check them out before u pay.

Our experience at Blue Banks ResortAfter driving 9 hours to Blue Banks Resort in Hornbeak, TN. We proceeded to check in on Sunday May 20, 2024. It took awhile as we needed to purchase our TN fishing license, which was no problem. At that time, we were told that the guide we had arranged to be fishing with, (Billy) had passed us off to another guide. We had been told for months we were to be going out with Billy, the number 1 Guide for the area and the one you see in all the videos that get posted. The room where we stayed was excellent, very new, and clean, and right on the water. We proceeded to the resort restaurant for dinner, which was fair at best the wait staff for the most part rather rude, the only time our waitress spoke was when she received a generous tip, which seemed to surprise her. Next day: We were on time for the guide, and he had an older Skeeter for a boat, which was still OK with us as we have utilized many guides over the years. We proceeded down the shoreline with the guide using his live scope looking for what were old spawning beds along the shore. We never went more than 1/2 mile from the resort, never seeing anyone else along this shoreline, again, not a problem as he was the guide and you put your trust in them to know where the best spots are. Along this path he did find 6 old beds well past their usage, spending about an hour on each one and checking a few on the way back to the resort. As for equipment supplied by the guide: One of the boats down posts did not functionPlenty of bait, CricketsThe reel I had been handed to use was broken, the handle could not be tightened and continued to become loose constantly. The rod my son was given had the tip broken off so was short. The combo my grandson was given seemed OKThe guide fished mostly with a smaller kids combo? Which he dropped overboard and had to retrieve at one point. To say they encourage people to keep small fish would be an understatement.5 inch Bluegills were kept and when a bigger 6 1/2 inch was caught a picture had to be taken of the Whopper!!Attached are photos of our catch after cleaning. 23 fish were kept. 46 barely bite size morsels. We have hired many guides over the years and NEVER experienced an unequipped guide with poor equipment and every guide we have used would work to put us on fish, not just use their side scope to locate and catch small fish.NEXT Day:We were told we would be in one of the larger boats since there were 3 of us, That did not happen! The motors are all very new, the boats are not. To sit and fish from the front broken seat you had to sit cross legged or some other uncomfortable way. The equipment given to us was a tube of crickets of which 90% were dead, a small paddle and two life vests (there was three of us?? And ice for our cooler. We spent 8 hours fishing that day trying to locate fish. We caught one 7 inch crappie, one Drum and a 4 inch blue catfish. When returning to the resort we went into the restaurant for a cold drink. We were asked three times if we were ordering food and we said no we just needed a cold sweet tea and a lemonade. After waiting for 20 minutes my son went to find a waitress, who then brought us our cold drinks, put them on the table and walked away without a word. 30 minutes later we had to hunt her down to pay for our drinks. We decided to cut this trip short and leave the next day. When returning our keys to the desk there was no question of why we were leaving early or if there was a problem, just a "Have a nice day" and he turned his back to us.We did not see anyone bring in decent catches. We did see Billy and his guide boat and in comparison, to what we were put it was like night and day difference. We were promised a guided day with Billy and that did not happen. Accommodations AWait Staff D RUDERestaurant C-Guide D- Not what we were led to believe, or signed up forOverall FWe know, live and learn, which we did!!!

The owners were extremely nice. The good was good. The views were amazing. We used there new "campground" i would not call it that. It's a place to park and hook up that's it. Pure gravel sites. Water pressure is too high for most campers. Sewer hook up is wrong style to be able to dump and sits higher than the ground making it hard to dump correctly. Space between sites is only enough to park your car.

The rooms/lodging at the resort are dirty, smelly, and full of begs(dead and alive). I asked for a change of room because the rooms were disgusting and the last at the front desk looked at me like I was crazy. She said she was booked and then ignored me. I would not recommend this resort ands I would never return.

I'm from Georgia visiting a friend, thought it would be a great idea to take him somewhere nice for Father's Day.He loves catfish and has not had any in awhile. So. Surprise! We went to the resturant at BBR. Not an unusual wait for a table, the hostess was kind and helpful, offered us suggestions of where we could hang out while we waited. We had his guide dog with us so outside was a great option. We strolled the deck, sat in the lounge chairs, the view of the lake was phenimonal. Beaultiful, well maintained gardens, ducks, lots of boat traffic but not annoying. We were called for our table. As we were walking back indoors to be taken to our table, we were approached by a young man who obvoiusly is not knowledgeable about the laws in TN about guide dogs (service dog) , made a sharky comment. Ok, water on a ducks back it's not uncommon for a Vet with a dog guide to hear the comments often. We were walked to our table of choice outdoors, the hostess had to bus the table before we could be seated, the table was not wiped down, etc and the dishes were placed on the table next to us, not completely her fault it was obvious at this point they were short staff. Again, lots of water on that ducks back. After asking, we were informed that the sharky red shirt guy, was the owners son. Educate your staff about service dogs, please!! We ordered of our food, nice waitress, not well versed on the menu but she tried. Our table was crooked, dipped so my friend spilled his tea, one of the dock workers brought over a bucket of water to wash away the spill. Thank you, but my cork sandals got wet before I could move my feet. Sharky red shirt guy, brought a new fresh glass and refilled our tea. We orderd a dish of food to split bc neither of us eat a lot, and hambuger for our guide dog. We never were bought the condiments we asked for, no tea was offered again, one of the main entree meats was left off the plate. We finally recieved it 5 minutes before our check. The check was presented to us with one entree and an add on of the second meat that should have been on the original plate. A difference of $23 vs $37, when I questioned, the answer was, "thats how the cook told me to ring it up" at this point , strike 3. The original check was returned unchanged, when I asked why there was no correction, "oh, I must have given you the wrong one". Nice try, to keep from causing a scene, i signed and left ( see reciept below) and Bless their hearts, we had 2 ppl in our party unless you charge for refills thats was one hellova 1/2 gal of tea. See notes on my photo. What should have been a great day fro my friend bc a very displeasing experience, which is truly sad. Sending positive vibes in hopes that this review is more helpful for future customers than hurtful and that the crooked math doesn't get by on anyone else.

Stinky, crumbling infrastructure, WAY overpriced. Beautiful setting. The only lodging available on the south shore of Reelfoot Lake since the 12/21 tornado wiped out Cypress Point. What a shame.
