Bishop's BBQ

Headed South on a road trip and decided to stop at Bishop's BBQ. We pulled into the crowded parking lot and walked in, small line waiting to order at the counter, small lunch crowd. We ordered and grabbed a table, the food came out pretty quickly, looked great and tasted better! I had the pulled pork sandwich and fries, which was amazing! We also ordered the banana pudding, holy crap!!!!So good!! Try it!!! Prices were great, they do take cards but charge 4% to use a card, cash is best! Everyone is super friendly and pretty busy with lots of carry out orders going out in addition to the diners. If you are going through Tupelo, MS check it out!!

Been several times. Purchased the same thing, each time, except this past visit last Friday... The reason for only 4 stars is the inconsistency...while not a deal breaker, when it's good, it's fabulous...when it wasn't, it was still good, just didn't compare to the previous visit... As a former business owner, of several businesses, as well as managing several...I know it's difficult to find, and perhaps more difficult to keep, good employees.... However, even though this place is a bit pricey, the food is PURE COMFORT. THE ONION rings, are the best we've had, and this past visit, we added the catfish special... Catfish was so/so, and this disappointing... BUT, the fries... Equally as delicious as the onion rings.We do recommend Bishops, although we've only been to the main Street location... When we want to "treat ourselves", our "go-to" is Bishops BBQ.

This is some of the worst BBQ I've ever had. The ribs had the membrane on them, which is a sign of a horrible pit master. The meats were chewy had to be ripped apart and had no flavor. The BBQ beans consisted of stringy fatty chewy beef mixed in bean sauce and the mashed potatoes were just ok. The food didn't seem fresh or of good quality. The restaurant was really dirty, the tables were full of fingerprints and everything was sticky and grimy. There are much better restaurants in Tupelo this location is not worth the trip to the outskirts of town.

Love their veggie plate! Plenty of sides to chose from. Please bring back your purple hull peas!!!!!!!!

Food was good, however didn't get actually what I ordered but it took forever to get my food so just went with it! Initial ordering was good! She was prompt, not sure if the order mix up was hers or I wasn't clear on what I actually wanted as I've had the sandwich before so..... Very busy but the place was DIRTY and spilled ice cream on the floor! Tables weren't bused ! Had to clean my own table! I've eaten here before in fact ordered a huge order to go and was pleased! This experience may have me looking for new BQ place!

I called in 2 family packs and when I got there it was ready. Got home and the food was hot and delicious. Some of the best bbq sauce.

The food was okay. It's the only place in Tupelo that serves the appetizer with the meal.

Stop here as I was traveling through Tupelo. It was very good & convenient to the interstate. Great fried okra and better baked beans. I also had the ribs. They were well done. Try the sweet hickory and hot bbq sauce.
