Big Myrt's Wings & Things

From the time you step through the door you truly feel welcomed and appreciated. You are normally greeted by the owner with a big smile and greeting ' Welcome to Big Myrt's '. Once you enter you notice how clean and comfortable the inside of the dining area. Now let's talk about the amazing favorable wings. Lately I have noticed most wing establishments have extremely small wings ( well this is not true at Big Myrt's). The wings are a nice size and they are always served fresh/ hot. I ordered the 100 party wings for an event being held for my niece. I ordered 25 honey hot, 25 lemon pepper, 25 bbq and 25 seasoned. The freshness, favor and texture of each one was amazing. One last thing about the Best Wing establishment in Memphis. Big Myrt's has the best prices of all the wings places I checked with for a 100 party wing platter. Trust me if try out this establishment it will become your favorite wing spot like it is now for me...

I was greeted with a smile and a welcome Sunday is soul food it was delicious smoked turkey wings,greens and yams with sweet potato corn bread and a huge slice of cake sorry i ate the food however i do have a pic of the cake

His food could improve and the use of fresh veggies on the burgers would be a great change. The tomatoes on my burgers were old and soggy. By the time I got home the bread was no good. We had to remove the meat and make our own burgers. I try hard to patronize black owned business. Also his attitude and customer service was horrible. I waited 25 to 30 minutes for the burgers and I had to ask him when it would be ready. His response was something about how long it takes to cook wings. I didn't order wings. And he took my order so he knew. Not to mention I was the only customer in the place. Most places gives you a update on your order when it takes a while. Not here. THE BUTTER ROLL IS CINNAMON ROLLS. I asked if this was authentic butter roll and guess what he lied. So that was a waste. Anywaybi blew almost 70 dollars on that unacceptable garbage.

Well...I am not a fan. I order the raggin Cajun and jerk flavors. On Tuesday there is a party wing special, so I ordered 12. They smelled really good, but lacked in flavor. They tasted like nothing, but chicken fried in grease. No spice at all! I had heard good things and was even told by the owner that those were two of the most popular flavors. Once again, another wing spot that let me down. I won't give up on them tho, there is an Italian beef sandwich that I want to try...I know I'm not in Chicago,but if they can deliver on the taste and flavor for the Italian beef, they have a repeat customer. I really wanted to like this place. I'll update once I try the Italian beef.The menu on the wall is not their full menu so check out the paper menu for what all they offer.

So the quesadilla is TRULY the star of the show here. It is SO good. Next time I order it will likely be my entree instead of something that I share. The wings are good, but I've ordered honey hot 2x and received Honey Gold both times. It is very frustrating especially since they charged an additional dollar for the lemon pepper on top. This is Memphis, that should be free lol (jk.... but for real though). My 2 year old really love the chicken and waffles so that's a clear winner as well. Not pictured here are the chili cheese fries and this is where the main issue arises. They use CRINKLE FRIES! Now, there's nothing wrong with crinkle fries, but they definitely do not deserve to be smothered with chili and cheese. It just made for a soggy and heavy dish that we ultimately trashed. Chili didn't taste too seasoned either. I would prefer to rate them at a 3.5 but since I can't give a half point, I don't want to dilute my 4s so I give them a 3. They're not bad but not excellent. Just average. If you go and order the quesadilla alone, they are for sure a 5.

Terrible! $112 order. The burgers were so bad. No one could even eat the burgers or chicken sandwich. Fried green tomatoes were soggy and over salted. I take it all back but what's the point of ordering through Doordash if I have to return over half the food.

We ordered this morning and had the chicken and waffles and Italian beef. The chicken and waffles was good BUT that Italian beef was absolutely delicious...I haven't had one close since a layover at O'hare. The thing is big enough for 2..

Look, you see that guy who gave this place a 2 star, then changed to a 3 star? Yeah, he doesn't know jack. This place should be considered an inspiration to every small restaurant in bartlett. Big myrts was a blessing from the start, let me tell you my story.So one day I was rolling back home from work and had to get gas. So I hop over to the station and what do I see? A kind smile and intriguing greeting. "Hey man, come check out our new wing shop just over there!"So naturally I got gas and went home with the print out menu I received. Didnt think much of it since I only liked plain wings. However, my wife and I wanted something new. So off I went to see what this Big myrts was all aboutOne sec while I set the seen. I push the door open and am immediately given a warm, true welcome. The lady behind the counter was very kind and seemed to take great pride in there establishment. I was floored by demeanor of the staff. It seemed like everyone there, including the other customers, were taking part in a joyous family reunion. That was the atmosphere, the scenery was just as inviting. Everything was clean and pristine. All was in order. You could smell the delicious food cooking in the back. While waiting for my order, the gentleman who approached me with the menu carried a tray of quater sandwiches out and allowed everyone to try one on the house. The beef melted in my mouth. It was amazing.Long story short, the wings we ordered were great and continue to be great every time afterwards. We have since ordered there at least 15 times. I tell you every time... A solid three stars. The food was OK, it was not outstanding and it was not horrible. Very friendly very welcoming.

To begin with, the owner of this restaurant is unpleasant, and I notice from the google reviews that this isn't just my personal experience with him. I don't believe he is literate enough to operate a business without seeing everything as a personal attack! He is very combative in the reviews towards people that have disagreements with his services. I once witnessed this man shoving someone out of the store when I was going into a business nearby.Next, I would also advise gig-workers/courier such as doordash, ubereats and etc not to take delivery at Big Myrt's. The owner of the store is rude towards them and is super slow. When you ask him how long it will take to get your food after waiting 15 minutes for a small order, he becomes irate. I also think he is prejudice towards other minorities and lgbt people, which is strange for a business that is locally owned. There is plenty other local wing places that are better and have better service. This business wont be here long, TRUST!
