Ben Yay’s Gumbo Shop

This restaurant used to house YesDog bar and restaurant.The crawfish étouffée was delicious, and served over a bed of white rice. The pimento grits were quite tasty, and filling. The beignets were a wonderful dessert. The service was informative, friendly, and attentive. I plan on returning.

Food and service were both great! Voodoo pasta was flavorful with plenty of crawfish. Gumbo needed some more heat and flavor.

The food was good. The catfish was cooked well, and the crayfish Etoufee was really good.

I've been to Ben Yay's a few times now and haven't been disappointed yet! Really don't expect to either. Always been a great hangout location in downtown Jonesboro and now under new ownership and management. I know the manager as a friend and seen him in action over the years in similar roles, so I expect any future visits to be just as great a dining experience!

They are understaffed for the amount of customers. Those who are working are certainly doing their best and have good personalities. The blackened seasoning on the catfish is way too salty and you really can't enjoy the dish because of this.

Oh my god! Amazing and authentic New Orleans cuisine. We spend half the year in NOLA and I would put their shrimp and grits and crawfish etoffee against any of the NOLA favorites. If you're in the area and want authentic NOLA food, come out and enjoy.

Food is crazy good! Service was good. Nice clean place. It's nice to get some good Cajun dishes when you are working on the road.

Only been here once but it was great. I had the catfish with crawfish Mac and cheese and pimento grits. It left me stuffed and tasted great. The waiter acted a little bit the way I'd expect from a fancy restaurant but keep in mind I don't go to many fancy restaurants. The ambiance reminded me of a thrift shop which is cool

The food was ok. It didn't justify the price though. The food is rather expensive for the portion size. The "bowl" of gumbo had my husband going back into the restaurant to make sure he didn't accidentally order a "cup" size of the gumbo.

Great food very nice staff and very clean would recommend if you want some Cajun food
