Bear Trace At Chickasaw

Three stars... 1 for "potential" when the grass grows. NOT a Bear Trace (State Owned) course anymore. The layout was nice. Keep ball in the fairway. Only one hole I remember was side-by-side with another. WOODS and tall trees line every fairway. My round was in early,early spring. Bermuda is barely coming in. Fairways are very, very thin. Greens were very slow and must have had a hard winter. As usual, not many folks fixin' ball marks. Everything looked as is if it will get better as it grows. Water does not drain well on any hole. Lots of mushy fairways, puddles on the paths. Standing water somewhere on every hole. Some perfect drives disappeared into the mud. Price was right, $36 total: includes cart, range balls and tax.

David has brought this course a long way. Greens are excellent, fairways are mowed, great food with great service.
