Bad Bob's Bbq

Greg and I were traveling home from Brinkley Arkansas and stopped at Bad Bob's BBQ Restaurant in Union City TN. We both enjoyed the BBQ platter combo. There was pulled pork, BBQ Glazed Pork Ribs, Potato Salad & Baked Beans and don't forget the Southern Sweet TeaThe food was amazing!!

The kids were completely satisfied with their chicken strips. The husband was thrilled about his burger. I didn't care for the BBQ nor the sauces. The meat didn't taste smoked, more like it was prepared in a crock pot or something. The sauce was extremely thin and barely coated the meat. If we go back I'll not order BBQ again which is ironic. They did have a sucker stand for free suckers for the kids which was really cute and fun. The service was quick and polite. Considering reasonable prices, good experience for the kids, and great service I'll likely return and try something else.

Best BBQ in Union City. Though pretty much a Fast Food type setup. Good selection, and fairly fast service.

We popped into this place for a quick bite and were pretty surprised. Although the building is a little dated and the bathrooms could have used some tlc, the food was pretty great. They offer several barbecue meals allowing you to pick from ribs, pulled pork, pulled chicken, sausages, and more. The ribs, pulled pork, and half chicken are all tender, smoky, and delicious. Plus, you can pick from quite a few sides. The cole slaw is a vinegar base so it's not creamy and heavy, but fresh and bright. The curly fries are made on site and are crunchy and tasty. The real winner, though, is the baked potato salad, with bacon, sour cream, chives -- it's so good! If you want extra barbecue sauce, they've also got two vinegar-based kinds at the table: special (sweet) and hot. Definitely a place I'll be stopping for dinner again soon.

Love their food, it's always so good and hot and made fresh to order! We love to come here and eat, it's always so homey and cozy. Quiet and not a lot of people all the time when you do go. Their chess squares are absolutely delicious! My husband always gets the tenders or the bbq cheese fries. My little girl gets the plain nachos and I get the bbq bologna or the bbq baked stuffed potato. Great EVERYTIME and would highly recommend.

I happened to be in Union City for an outdoor concert at Discovery Park and wanted to grab a bite to eat before the show. We neglected to take into account the time zone change so we had plenty of time to kill. Plus it was 95 degrees outside and we weren't ready for that craziness. I looked up the options on the Yelp app and this was one of the few non-fast food places that popped up.This place is located in some building that looks like it used to be something else. It doesn't look like much. You order up front and they bring out the food to you when it's ready. I got the pulled pork plate with baked potato salad and baked beans as my side items. The plate also comes with a bun if you want to make a sandwich. The pulled pork was pretty good and I liked their barbecue sauce. They have a few sauces in bottles on the table. The lids to the bottles are kind of gross so watch out for that. The baked beans were average. The star of the plate was the baked potato salad. So freaking good. Very rich and full of mayo. You should stay away if you're weird and you don't like mayo. Oh, you get a free drink with the pulled pork plate.All in all, I was happy with the experience. A nice little find in Union City.

Tiny and unknown. Don't let that scare you. I may be writing the first review, but I hope more people come to try this place out.People from western Tennessee are proud of their regions BBQ; and for good reason. They know how to cook meat, and they love serving it in large portions.I got the hawgzilla, and there was more meat than there was bread. High quality meat at that. The pork is succulent and topped with cole slaw. Though you may not be able to eat it like a sandwich, eating the pieces is still worth it. The occasional bit of fat is incredibly gratifying if you like juicy meats. Another highlight is the baked potato salad. Though the creaminess is a little much to handle, the texture is great. I normally don't like potato skin, but the way it's mixed in with the scalloped potatoes and bacon bits works.Make sure to try out their homemade sauces. I typically judge barbecue places based on their quality of meat and sauce, and Bad Bob's passes on both. Though the hot sauce isn't that hot, the two sauces mixed together provides a gustatory experience that I love with BBQ. a nice sweet tea with your meal, you can't go wrong hereAddendum: had to come back to try the barbecue nachos per locals' suggestion. Verdict: so good. Nacho cheese, barbecue sauce, juicy pork. Someone told me it'd be a shame if I left town without trying it. She was right

Had the wings and spicy corn.... very good. My husband had pulled pork and rib combo. A little dry but added bbq sauce available on table and it is messy and tasty....every thing you want in good bbq. And agreed with other reviewers on baked potato salad. Super nice staff and would consider coming back

Wow!I grew up in NE Arkansas, so I love Midsouth BBQ. Living in the DFW area in TX, I don't get it that often. We were driving through Union City and went here based upon Kelvin P's Yelp review. SO GOOD!I had the Hawgzilla. She had a smaller pulled pork sandwich. We split a BBQ Nachos. The BBQ Nachos didn't do anything for me, not because they didn't do a good job (I'm sure they did), but because that particular dish just wasn't my thing once I had tried it. The curly fries (pig tails) were good.After I checked in there on Facebook, a friend who lives in that area confirmed that Bad Bob's is one of his favorite places. Trust me, you won't regret going there.

Chose the dry rub as I am not into vinegar BBQ sauce. Ribs from previous day almost back to serving temperature but sans any flavorful rub. Glad I was heading back north to smoke my own on the weekend. Plenty trophies suggest not as much competition in their neck of the woods. Good food, but not close to a wow me experience. Tip to owner have the cashier boy more excited to brag up my anticipation!!
