We went around 7pm on a Sunday and were only one of the tables occupied. The service was fast and friendly. The food was just ok. The bbq baked potato was huge and fresh but the chicken was very dry. The loaded bbq fries were also huge but the fries were crispy and were a little on the blonde side. The side of creamy coleslaw (not pictured) was disappointing both in flavor and portion for the price we paid. Everything besides the slaw tasted good and the prices are reasonable so we'll definitely try it again since there aren't many options in Oakland besides Mexican. The interior was the start of the show for me, the renovation was nicely done.

I love bar b q but hate this is the only bar b q place in Oakland. I just feel like they ripped people off by the prices. I order sizes that are large which is $3-$4 extra dollar just to get a small Via DoorDash .Please do better. and it is consistently like this. This was $3.45 extra which totals to $7.80 for this "large beans "

Oakland can screw up anything. Pitiful service, out of 30% of menu items. Feet stuck to the floor. Truly sad because the 'que was better than decent

What a failed experiment. Overpriced, warmed up food, and a dystopian failure of an ordering experience.First off, there is no reason for a plate of BBQ to cost $17. Two, subpar sides and BBQ clearly prepped somewhere else. On top of that, the amount of food was dismal for the cost. The small portions were lukewarm and brisket was rubbery. Makes it worth the drive for Commissary, Central, Corky's, and heck, Jim n Nicks. Pathetic.Ah, the ordering experience. Clearly someone who shouldn't be making decisions chose to use Zenu Menu (BiteNinja), a Zoom-like service where some random basement-dweller sits in their bedroom and takes your order. There's no way that's a sustainable business model. Where is the real interaction? How on earth is this cheaper than training someone? The service starts at $15 an hour, so yeah-- It's awkward, feels weird, and simply does not fit the restaurant. There was a girl filling drinks, why can't she take orders? During lunch hour there were very little customers, which makes this absurd choice even more detrimental. My guess is there's a massive loss of money to this company.Sure, companies can try to be innovative. But take a hint from your competitors. There's a reason that you don't see more places doing this. Terrible waste of money. Terrible way to manage, invest in, and enrich your employees' time with this failed experiment of a restaurant.Due to poor management choices, trucked in BBQ, and overpriced food, I will not be returning.

If I could give this restaurant a 0 star I would, This restaurant is awful, you come in, and they make you order on a screen, not even a real person, it's like being on FaceTime with a real person but on a screen. Then our friend ordered a bucket of beer, that we did not touch, and they made us show our ID's when we didn't order it, even though we said we were not drinking, even though we are of age, it was just very rude, the food sizes are so tiny, you pay 20 dollars for basically nothing. The chicken here is really dry as well and seemed like it was sitting for hours before hand, again, save your money and eat somewhere else!! Right before I left, I was sitting on the edge of my chair and it just fell underneath me their floor and chair combo they have isn't working.

They were out of everything that my brother and I ordered. We finally ordered nachos. we got cold nachos and cold fries. Disappointed for sure because my brother wanted to go to margaritas but I convinced him to try out this place. No mac and cheese, no sweet potato casserole and no potatoes.

Been here three times and loved the meat and banana pudding all three times. Still figuring out the sides. Not a fan of the Mac n cheese. Highly recommend the brisket. Very moist and tasty! The banana pudding is wonderful!A little odd ordering thru a video screen, but it's not an issue!Happy to have them in Oakland!

Avoid this place like the plague! Poor BBQ food close to Memphis is the worst business plan ever! You walk into what used to be a decent BBQ restaurant and immediately encounter what is sadly a coming trend in our future...some person taking your order in New Jersey who is also working several other restaurants. It's like ordering your meal on a FaceTime call. You pay a computer like the new McDonalds format and take a seat. After a brief period of time some poor employee brings what appears to be warmed up food individually wrapped in foil to you. This place will not last very long in Oakland. If around here and are looking for good, authentic smoked BBQ, do yourself a favor and head a few miles further east to a take out hole in the wall named Loven Fresh.

I love the combo deals! Thanks for supporting Arlington Community Schools! I also love the Oakland location. Very easy to pick up my order.

I am handicapped and can't walk. I pulled into the drive thru to place an order for a pound of pork. Workers insist they can't hear me. I'll need to come inside. well I can't. I can't walk!!!So I pull around to the pickup window and thru just tell me they could no hear me. do I left with no order. zero compassion and zero intellect- why not take my Oder at the pick up window?? Or fix your stu speaker??
