The restaurant has a few things to work out before we will be going back. The atmosphere is good but the restaurant itself is very loud. Food was ok but for a Mexican restaurant we were expecting the whole chips and salsa experience. Didn't happen. We also didn't get the appetizer we ordered. Someone in our party got their food very late into the meal. Service was very slow. No alcohol license yet so no margaritas. I know the restaurant biz is tough. Some of these kinks need to be worked out.

Opening night! First class service from Alex. The owner Abraham stopped by our table to make sure our food and service was perfect and it was. The shishito pepper appetizer was incredible. The guacamole had amazing flavor. Black beans are memorable. Our table had everything. Chicken, Pastor, Asada, Shrimp. All wonderful. It's so good to have a new restaurant with a commitment to waking food and exceptional service. Can't wait to return.

First, this is not your typical Memphis Mexican restaurant. Chicken and cheesy rice will not be found on this menu, and that's a great thing. Service was outstanding, and our waiter was very engaging and knowledgeable about the menu. Our food came out promptly and was spot on. Highlights included the Al pastor tacos, the short rib, and the Chamorro was one of the best things I've eaten in a restaurant. This is a great date night restaurant. Not stuffy and pretentious, but fancy and exotic enough to impress. They will have their liquor license shortly, so expect some pretty exciting beers and cocktails. It was so good I'm reluctant to let people in on the secret, but we have to support an exceptional restaurant that's a lot more than what you'd expect. Bravi tutti.

Food was excellent with nice ambiance. Will be better when they have the bar open. The owner does a good job of mingling.

Ordered bourbon and Coca Cola. Was not told it was Pepsi. Kept thinking tasted bad. Cost $17 for a tall single shot. Food mediocre. Service okay.

Food was swimming in grease. Ordered pastor tacos. They were small and dripping in grease. Very small portions and big price tag.

Hidden gem for the food and ambiance but the service could be better. Let me start off by saying the service wasn't bad by any means, our server did great. Especially given how busy they were. It's likely just a staffing issue. Regardless, the food was amazing. Our server told us the chef is from Mexico City and they have their own dessert chef. We ordered the beef short ribs and some tacos for dinner and tried both desserts at the end. Short ribs were amazing (came with a container with tortillas to keep them warm). Tacos were amazing. Desserts were amazing. The orange dessert comes with a coconut ice cream that's incredible. Neither dessert was super sweet but that was perfect for us. The chocolate has Mexican chocolate in it and is similar to a dark chocolate fudge. You can't go wrong with either. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. Everything was wonderful. You don't leave feeling heavy afterwards like typical Tex-Mex style food either. I should also note, this is not Tex-Mex, it's much better. The seating is spaced out a lot (love) and the seats are comfortable and the design is beautiful! Lighting is pretty low so be aware of that if you go in the evening.

Fantastic restaurant - great food, great service! Ignore the other reviewers who complained about "chips and salsa". I mean, really? Do you rate Chez Philipe low as well because you didn't get a bottomless salad bowl?? Maybe stick to your buffet restaurants - the rest of us would like the opportunity to have an elevated dining experience in Germantown.Anyway - the menu is not your typical "texmex" that every other place in town seems to copy from each other. The menu was truly unique, expertly prepared, with great service all around. We will be back often (and cannot WAIT for the bar to open!).
