Art House Cafe

I had been seeing this place and people talk about their smoked turkey ribs. So I finally got around to the area to try them out. The owner was super friendly and helpful. He even gave me a tour of their space, showed me how all the meat is smoked separately to avoid cross contamination, and told me about upcoming events. They have an eat-in area but also do to-go orders. I ordered a Turkey rib sandwich, a catfish po-boy (Rich Girl), and a piece of pound cake. I heard another customer asked about the broccoli cheese cornbread after I had already placed my order. I then decided I wanted to try it to (since my family has made this for years and I've never heard anyone else making it). The customer ended up just adding me a piece to their order and paying for it. So nice of them!That Turkey rib sandwich was awesome. I almost went right back to get another one. The cornbread was also really good and moist (mine has more cheese when I make it ). The catfish was also really good. Everything was excellent and I can't wait to return again. I need more of those Turkey ribs! Nice place and welcoming staff/owners. It's a family run business. My pictures aren't great but it's the best I could do at the moment.

Since today is Juneteenth, I wanted to support a black owned business. It was suggested that I try Art House Cafe. I went around 3pm and there wasn't a crowd so I was able to order quickly. I got the smoked wings with smoked cabbage, fried okra, and the broccoli cornbread. My food came out quickly. It was about a 30 minute drive home but the food was still at a great temperature. I didn't need to warm it up. The bbq sauce that comes with the wings was really good. Overall, everything was cooked and seasoned really well. While there, I noticed there was artwork for sale. I definitely want to visit again.

Idk what's better - the flavor of the food or how much this place gives back to their community!!!I had their turkey rib sandwich, fries and lemonade for only $9.01 while I enjoyed the vibrant art on the walls and historic storytime from the owner during downtime.This place gives back by feeding the homeless daily and has lot of connections in the city as far as networking resources go! All the food was amazing and hot. The service was great as well. Friendly staff. Small on the inside so I did a Togo order.

Great array of portraits and art along with awesome food!! The catfish was heavenly! It's actually a place that does spoken word and other things... would definitely recommend

Art House Cafe is a complete gem.The owner cares so much for his business, customers and local community. The cafe is full of local art, soft jazz, and positive vibes all around.I ordered the baked chicken, yams, and stewed cabbage to go and my goodness - my mouth hasn't stopped watering.The chicken is perfectly cooked, fall off the bone tender, with the perfect amount of heat. The cabbage is one of the best foods I've eaten in my life. It's smoky, packed full of flavor, and will knock ANY cabbage you've had out of the park. The yams are sweet and soft without being mushy. The owner showed me around his patio, the art, and introduced me to the staff. I felt like a VIP guest. The cafe also feeds the local hungry everyday, while providing a safe haven for local artists to showcase their singing, rapping, or poetry abilities. While I originally found the Art House Cafe on a trek to get coffee, this was a trip I am so glad to make.I can't explain how at home the employees made me feel. Their family run business is all about the community and helping others. They even walked me to my car! They have free Wifi and a quiet atmosphere that would make it a prime study spot.Make the Art House your next stop in Memphis for some insane soul food Sundays.

The food is melting in the mouth. Excellent baked chicken, corn cob with a tasty topping and an exellent smoked cabbage I never had before.The crew is friendly and amiable. Also avery good display of artist paintings that completes the wonderful experience.

I eat here practically every week! I crave their turkey ribs. Their smoked cabbage is so yummy. The perfect amount of smoke. And because they make everything fresh in-houseyou better get there early for that cabbage. The catfish! It's perfect! It's all good. And you get to look at great art while you eat or wait for your food. Check it out.

The space is chill, the vibes are vibing, and that 901 special hits different! So good, definitely worth a visit.
