Best biscuits and gravy - hands down.I had the Redneck Breakfast which was so yummy and I added sausage. My friend really enjoyed her chicken fried steak. The service was quite nice and all should support local businesses. This place has been here since 1919.

With all of the "for lease" signs on shop doors on South Main right now, I'm so happy to see the oldest diner in Memphis is still open! The restaurant is very cute inside! The staff were incredibly sweet. Our food came out quickly. The food itself was pretty good. They had a lot more options than I thought a diner would. They had mimosas. - We did a "build your own" carafe. They also had good coffee! It wasn't your typical diner coffee. They have a little coffee bar, and the coffee was gooood. My sister got the sweet potato pancakes, which I think I ended up eating the most of. They didn't even need syrup! I got the breakfast pizza, which was ok. My mom got biscuits and gravy which was a little bland, but not bad.Overall, this place was pretty good.

I want to say I love it, but I was a meh for this one. I was there twice in the short weekend I visited. The first time was average; blackened catfish was okay- way too salty, but I was starved so I still inhaled it because I was starved. Then I went again with a group of 12. We had all pre-ordered. It took a LONG time to get our food and it was all delivered at different times. I got mine last. Everyone in my party was completely finished with their meals by the time mine arrived (FYI- it was a Greek salad. How hard can this be?) So everyone had left to go back to our meeting while I sat and finished my meal, while one poor person awkwardly watched me because she didn't want to leave me by myself. So that was pretty disappointing and honestly unacceptable. If I were a server, I would have at least taken a percentage off the total. This did not happen. That said, the salad was quite good. The people who work there are quite friendly. But efficiency is beyond poor.

We came for the nostalgia and were not disappointed. I love old diners and this one checked all the boxes. The decor was like being transported back in time. We showed up before they opened and were greeted as soon as they opened the doors. We were able to get the Elvis booth as we were the first ones there. Our waitress was very polite and attentive. The food was good and the prices were reasonable. Other reviews say the service is horrible but we did not experience that at all. I recommend showing up early when the first open as there were only a few other people in the restaurant with us.

One of our trolley drivers pointed this place out to us so we decided to go here the next day and boy were we happy we did!We love local diners, especially ones with history. The Arcade has been around since 1919. The food is good and reasonably priced. I had the sweet potato pancakes and bacon, delicious! My hubs got the breakfast sampler. He loved the french toast so much I think he would have preferred to get just the french toast.Service is excellent. The people here are working hard. 4th generation is running the place so I am sure they take pride in their business.Definitely hit this place up if you are in town as you will not be disappointed!

Alright, let's be honest with ourselves, the food here is okay, but no one is coming for the food. It's the history of the place that brings people in, hell that's what brought us in... Unfortunately that history means the staff is more focused on the gift shop / merch side than on the food that started them out. Eggs requested over easy were definitely not, fried PB sandwich was soft and greasy, coffee was cold, but now I can say I've had Elvis' favorite sandwich at a place that used to serve it to him. Yay me?!

This was some of thee worst service I had in Memphis but the atmosphere and food made up for it. Visited on a Thursday before 1pm.My server appeared to be working both restaurants (not sure if the restaurant next door has a separate name but the two are connected via a walkway at the rear of Arcade). She would disappear for long stretches. I would see other servers passing by and they would say "ok" to my requests and never come back. I was unattended most of my time there. One example of a few: I had to ask for another coffee because the one I received, I couldn't get *anyone* to bring me a spoon/utensils or sugar to put in the coffee my server quickly dumped on the table then flew away. It was actually cold by the time she finally returned to the table to take my food order. The service was a huge letdown to the point I wanted to leave. But this is a landmark, the oldest cafe in the city. So I stuck it out and glad I did. That breakfast was delicious! The fried french toast? Frying it gives it like a beignet flavor. Whyyyy did I only order the sampler that came with one lil small piece??? Don't make the mistake I did - just order the whole plate of fried french toast on the side of whatever entree you're getting. It's soooo good! The sausage patty and strip of bacon went a long way, surprisingly. The perfect salty sidekicks to the sweet french toast (!!) and buttermilk pancake, all accompanied by cloud-fluffy scrambled eggs and buttery hashbrowns. It was certainly one of the most satisfying breakfasts I had while visiting the city. It's a shame that the service was so bad because I was looking forward to coming to this restaurant. I feel like if it was busy, the service would have been better. So maybe it's better to go during peak hours.Reasonable prices for it to be a touristy spot. Parking lot (I think - at least I didn't get towed) around back. Right next to a trolley station.
