Applebee's Grill + Bar

Good service. Friendly helpful and knowledgeable. Good food. Nice environment. Clean and had nice decor. We would come back.

My partner and I decided to dine-in around noon on a Monday after our flight. The restaurant was basically empty with only us and two other customers. We were kindly greeted by the hostess, seated quickly and greeted by our waiter. Our waiter was Rickey and he was such a delight! He was very friendly, patient, and extremely helpful when explaining the menu to us. The food came out fast and was pretty tasty. No complaints from us. Considering the previous reviews, our overall experience was a pleasant surprise!

This incident occurred on the evening of June 18th, 2023 (5:50-8:00PM)I know Applebee's is notorious for being bad, but this one in Murray, KY is absolutely awful. My father and I walked inside and the atmosphere is actually really pleasant, not a bad crowd for Father's Day! So much Murray State memorabilia, and the setup for the restaurant is very welcoming! It feels like you are going to have a great experience with whoever you are with. We had planned to go catch a movie and get a quick bite to eat at Applebee's, but boy oh boy was that a mistake. We get seated rather quickly, then our waitress comes and takes our drink order and we got our drinks quickly. Our waitress then took our order, she never took out a pen or pad stating she would just remember our entire order. My dad ordered an appetizer of wings, and the Bourbon Street steak & shrimp, I ordered the blackened cajun salmon. We were sitting there for about 40 minutes before we ever saw our waitress again and when she did come out it was with our food, we never received our appetizer. There were supposed to be shrimp on the Bourbon Street steak & shrimp my father ordered, but he did not receive the shrimp at all. My salmon was decent, but my mashed potatoes were ice cold. Dad ordered medium steak and got well done. At this point my dad was furious, still no appetizer and he demanded to speak to the manager. Yet what he did not know was that half the restaurant had also demanded to speak to the manager, many other families around us were angry with extremely long wait times and sub par food. Oh, and if it's not obvious by now we missed our movie by a mile. After about another 15 minute wait, a woman came out and said she was the kitchen manager, she ended up getting us a $2.00 discount for the mashed potatoes and didn't charge us for the appetizer. It was obvious she was annoyed and didn't care anything about us being upset. Another family came up to us and said several people had gotten there before us and still hadn't received their food after we had already gotten our check. They said that they were leaving shortly after we did. Applebee's desperately needs to do something about this location. It is grossly apparent the employees and managers at this restaurant care nothing about the food they serve their patrons or their valuable time that they waste. I do hope this restaurant improves, the one in Paducah isn't any better.

order shrimp & parm. sirloin (medium well), with broccoli and garlic mashed potatoes. It was medium rare with fries. Sent it back. It came back cooked but not very hot. Sadly, I was disappointed with this meal.

Now I know why their reviews are 2.5 stars. We stopped to eat on our way to see Christmas lights at Patti's but didn't make it here is why! We waited an hour AFTER ordering our food for our salads & appetizers to come out, and an hour and a half for our food with literally no one else in there, got video to prove no one else there. I asked the waitress why it was taking so long and she then becomes rude with me. She never came and asked not one time if we need drink refills, and Victoria Erin needed a refill for awhile. Then we wait another 20 minutes after getting done for our tickets, and both of our tickets are over charged and they refuse to fix one of them. Then Larry never gets his to go cup, the manager had to bring it. It was absolutely awful food and awful service and we will not be back

Ate here tonight. Service was awful. Had to ask for our food to be brought out. Never received our appetizers. Our med. cooked steaks came out well done sides were not what we ordered. Will definitely not be returning.

This is a 3:10 late lunch for us We walk in a get seated. The waiter comes and asks what we would like to drink and we get that right away. The restaurant is almost empty. And he never comes back to take our order. He confessed he forgot we were even there! He also said he was new so there was some grace there. But we are also 2 of the 8 people in the restaurant. So once we ordered, 30 minutes after being sat, we got a basic couple meal the 2 for 22. I got a steak and sides and the wife got chicken fettuccine Alfredo. I asked the steak to be medium. It was basically well done. Go figure. It's Applebee's. But the fries looked to be 3 hours old. The mashed potatoes weren't even mashed potatoes. Nasty slop. The chicken on the Alfredo was sliced and placed on top of the noodles. And it was cold as a fridge. Didn't warm that up. At least the noodles were warm. But they tasted bland. I could see out waiter leaning up against the bar talking to another employee. I wanted to talk to him. But he never moved. 0/10 on service 0/10 on food quality. I mean I know it's Applebee's. But I mean really. This restaurant gives the whole chain the nickname "Crapplebees". DO NOT RECOMMEND!

1 star but definitely would give it less. We wanted to order wings and decided to get the 30pc boneless wings ($30 for 2 ten piece wings or $30 for 30 wings) but wanted to split the sauce types like most places do. There was no way to split the sauce or submit a special request in door dash. We attempted to call the store to see if they could split the sauces for the wings and their phone lines do not work. As if someone forgot to pay the phone bill. We finally press the right combination to call in a to-go order and get a pleasant lady at a call center who puts in a curbside order for us. She assures us we can have split flavors so we ask for garlic Parmesan and honey barbecue. They are, of course, out of garlic Parmesan so we order sweet Asian chili and honey barbecue. We go to Applebees. Park in their curbside spots and wait 15 minutes after checking in via their link. Finally go inside and only one server is working (Crappy job on managements part, not necessarily the servers) after the server is able to give us our order we mention that we couldn't order half and half sauce through door dash. The server then talks down to us about ordering DoorDash and how it's always better to pick up and to not be lazy. Another patron chimes in and gives the same speech while we are clearly uncomfortable. We pay, leave, and arrive home and after all that trouble. They gave us a 30pc wing that was just barbecue with no ranch included as well. It boggles my mind how a restaurant messes up this much all at once but I'm not surprised that I got this quality of service from Applebees.

WORST DINING EXPERIENCE in quite some time! My mother wanted to take us out to eat in honor of our wedding anniversary and we decided on Applebee's. For a Sunday afternoon right after church, we remarked how empty the parking lot was. Should have told us something! Didn't take long to get seated, but it was a good 15 minutes before they took our drink order. It was another 10 minutes before they took our food order. Another 15 to get our appetizer. To make a long story short, after 90 minutes we realized everyone else had been served and left, we and another table or two were all that were left in the restaurant and we STILL didn't have our food! We decided if our food wasn't coming soon, we would pay for the appetizer and go somewhere else. The server was very apologetic, but when my husband spoke with the manager all he got from her was an "I'll check" My son and mother's food was brought very quickly then, but my son didn't get his broccoli with the explanation that "we are out", although my mom got hers?!?!?!?! it took about 5 more minutes before my husband and I got our meals. My husband had ordered the Fiesta Chicken, which comes with Pico De Gallo. His didn't. When he asked for it, he got a small bowl of cut up onions and tomatoes. No salt, no cilantro, nothing but onions and tomatoes. It was not very appetizing. I cannot believe how bad this experience was, it's not like there are no restaurants in Murray they are in competition with. There are so many nice places to eat with good variety in food choices and price ranges. My husband decided he was never going to eat at an Applebee's again, until I reminded him how good the one was we had eaten at in Federal Way, WA a few months ago while on vacation. The manager never came and apologized or offered to discount the meal or anything. We were there a good two hours and the food was only meh. Plus, we were so COLD. The restaurant was very chilly. The company needs to close this location. Quickly. It is giving Applebee's a very bad reputation. Only bright spot was that the server and greeter were both apologetic.

Very few customers when I arrived around 7:00 p.m. Lots of staff. Numerous tables left uncleared. Bar was not wiped down at all for the entire distance of the bar. Manager is frustrated and loud and cooks are yelling in the back. I'm told they had a big door dash order. But that still does not constitute yelling and not keeping the place clean. My bartender Beverly was very good and nice though. Food was typical for Applebees. Definitely not what I call an enjoyable dining experience. Come on people, handle pressure better!
