What can I say outstanding service outstanding drinks, outstanding food! I had a California burrito, which I couldn't finish because it was humongous. My wife had a combo plate but she very much enjoyed. I will absolutely definitely come back to this restaurant again and I would recommend this restaurant to anybody in the Shelbyville area.

We discovered this restaurant last week and really appreciated the service and the hospitality of the hostess. The food was good and pretty predictable, given its one of many Mexican restaurants in Shelbyville. The salsa is runny and poured from a clear plastic lipped vase. Not memorable, as far as taste. The chicken fajita meat is good and the lunch menu is broad and priced well. There's plenty of tables but will be alot more if they open the patio for the Summer. Alfonsos has a family owned feel to it and each waitress helps out with the workload. Would highly recommend this place. Be sure and tip well, they deserve it and have families to feed.

Stopped in after reading reviews and in the mood for Mexican cuisine. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Chips and salsa were served while waiting to order. The chips were great... fresh and warm. The salsa was definitely in the top 5 that I've had in a restaurant. We ordered the lunch chimichanga and a taco salad. Both were absolutely delicious and the portion sizes for lunch dishes was more than expected. Margaritas are two for one all day. They were very good as well. We ordered a regular and a "fishbowl" size to show comparison (Note: only the standard size is 2 for 1). I definitely recommend this place and will most definitely return again!

Having eaten here again for the second time, FINALLY, I can tell y'all it's only improved! We three gals came to celebrate (early) the NOT YET 40th birthday of our girl Kim... you will see her in the pic to follow... and she and I had been here before, but Marian had not. I am pleased to say she was delighted with the good and the impeccable service given by the one and only Esmeralda. (I think I got that right... I had half of one of their HUGE Dos XX mugs of "cerveza" and I'm a cheap date... LOL!) We all had different things: me, the Burrito Real; Marian, a gorgeous taco salad; Kim, her usual carnitas plate... plus the salsa, chips, my queso dip, and Marian's quacamole. Oh, and my side of jalapeños to smother EVERYTHING in! YUMMY!!!My telling Esmeralda that we were celebrating Kim's birthday early led to the wearing of the sombrero, a song, a scrumptious ice cream concoction complete with whipped cream and cherry on top... AND A PAPER PLATE OF WHIPPED CREAM IN THE FACE!!! All caught on my iPhone... pics AND video... BAHAHAHAHAHA!Y'all get to see her BEFORE the damage... but it was priceless!!! If I knew video would work here I'd post it as well.Anywho... long story short, we love this place. Great people, excellent food, fun for all! Still forgot to take pics of the food due to all the hilarity and shenanigans!

Good food and great service! I liked this place because they give you a lot of food for your money! I got the enchiladas supreme (it had one beef, one cheese, one chicken, and one bean enchilada). Very good. My only complaint is that when I asked for more sour cream to go with my enchiladas I was told by the waitress that it would cost extra to get that. Which seemed odd to me because they didn't put that much sour cream on the enchiladas to begin with. But overall it was a delicious meal that I would recommend trying. My friend had the fajitas hawaianas and liked it a lot to. Once again this plate had a ton of food for tour money! I would recommend giving this place a try! It was good!

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant anywhere. This was our first visit in 5 years, we were met outside by the owner ALfonso and Fabiola with hugs. We also had close to 20 people meet us there for meal drinks and visiting. The food is just as good as we have always remember. The service was great as we always expect. Prices are awesome I got the check and was around half the price as I was expecting. Thanks to everyone this place will always be the best; we can not wait to come back again.

This location has gone through several restaurant iterations in the last few years. Alfonso's seems to be in it for the long haul.They completely revamped the interior and it is nicely designed. There is a small waiting area and two main seating areas.There is an extensive menu of mainly americanized Mexican food. Love the all you can eat tortilla chips and the personal salsa dipping bowl cuz I can double dip every chip! The portions are very generous and I never leave hungry. The service is efficient, although you need to speak slowly and clearly so the waitresses understand what you are ordering.

Amazing place!!! Their food is so much food and the drinks are so great, amazing staff and cute atmosphere. I love this place!! Will definitely be back!
