Alamatt Restaurant

I think I caught them at a bad time when I got some food from them to-go. Ordered General TSO, pork rice, wontons, and egg drop soup. The General TSO was sweet & sour chicken. Or at least what I know to be sweet & sour chicken, so they might have given me the wrong thing. However the chicken was overcooked and dry. The same for the rice and wontons. I ordered around lunch time so you'd imagine they would have fresh product available but it tasted like week old leftovers. I couldn't even eat the wontons cause they were teeth shatteringly hard. It should be noted however that the egg drop soup was delicious and the little noodle crisps that came with it were fresh and crunchy. So I'm going to assume I just got a bad or old batch. I'll try again, but it wasn't a great first impression.

Food was good and the portion sizes were decent for the price. The place could use a renovation and some customer service training.

This is the best Chinese food in Greenville. It is owned by Chinese people who are from South China. (I heard their dialect and it is from South China) The food is freshly cooked to order. The fried shrimp came with sweet and sour sauce on the side. The butterflied shrimp tasted like it was freshly battered and fried to order. The happy family dish is a medley of fresh veggies and a variety of meat, in a light gravy, perfect tout over rice. The curry chicken has a light curry gravy, good over rice too. The Hunan shrimp is a darker soy sauce based gravy with a very small amount of heat. I asked for chili pepper sauce on the side to make the Hunan dish just a little spicier. The restaurant space is attached to the Alamatt Motel. The motel and restaurant space is a throwback to the 1950s. The property is clean and well kept, and a little bit original retro.

I try to come to Alamatt at least once a week. I love the atmosphere, very comfortable and clean. This is hands down the best Chinese in Greenville. Other places taste old and gross. But my meals at Alamatt are always fresh and made to order. The egg rolls are my favorite, I could eat a dozen. Customer service is a bit lacking. Server can be a bit cold and come off as short. But the food makes up for that in my opinion.

Food is good, ordering always feels awkward. I imagine it's more cultural than anything but they always seem like they're mad at the world.

Part of this place doubles as a living quarter,slow/bad service,food almost tasted like out of the cans,serving size barely enough for even a skinny person.

Not the absolute worst but by far not the best Chinese food ordered the sesame chicken beef and chicken and a low mein combo with egg roll and fried wontons came with two orders of fried rice which were good egg roll not bad flavor just over fried and burnt on one end wontons also over fried and the sauce was just something red that was not tasty at all... so there wont be another visit here anytime soon

It has been a long time since Lucky's Restaurant closed. I have been searching and searching for good Chinese food. I found it yesterday. The food was excellent. the portions was equal to all other restaurants. The food taste great. We loved itCozetta
