The rib tips and potato salad were amazing. The potato salad tasted like my auntie made it! Service was good as well. The ribs were okay; but I waited a few hours to eat them. So, I would have to give them another try next time I am in Memphis.

Their brisket plate is phenomenally well made. I had that with double sides of coleslaw. My companion had the barbecue nachos with pulled pork - also delicious. We ordered desserts to go, and the chocolate cake was delicious. The butter cookies were also amazing. Eating here during lunch becomes really pleasant when they open up the large, adjoining room. The employees are friendly and accommodating.

Visiting Memphis for Father's Day. My husband and I wanted the type of BBQ that Memphis is known for. We Googled to find the "best" BBQ in the city. This place was listed on several site. My husband called several other BBQ places looking for brunt ends. Very few places offered them or they were sold out. I wanted rib tips and they were definitely on the menu, but no ends were listed. Once we arrived, we asked if they had brunt ends and couldn't believe her response. They were the best brunt ends my husband has had from a restaurant! My rib tip sandwich was amazing! We ordered 1/2 slab of ribs to share(fall off the bone). Both of us requested the mild sauce and it's to die for! I was mad that I didn't get an extra side. The potato salad was so darn good! And to top it off, we had dessert (caramel cake and lemon cake). I can't express how perfect this cake was! Can't wait to visit Memphis again....

arrived about 6:45 on a weeknight and they were out of ribs (they had 1/2 rack and we wanted 3 - we took the 1/2 for a person at home). This was hugely disappointing so we tried a pork shoulder plate, and two rib tip plates. All were voted good, not great. We'll have to reserve final judgement till we return for the ribs.Service was Ok and the ambiance is that of your average bbq joint.

My food came out right. I ordered for takeout 1/2 chicken with potato salad and barbecue spaghetti. I called in my order, waited a few minutes ( i live right down the street) waited a few minutes when I arrived for pickup my food was ready to go. Ambiance is clean and hood. Yes I will return.

A&R use to be the place to go for a very good hamburger and maybe the best hamburger in the city but I hadn't been there since the store changed management until yesterday. I ordered 2 hamburgers and a 16oz barbecue beans. The hamburgers are still some of the best in the city except the size has shrunk so much that it's half the size of the brioche bun so you're eating more bread than burger and that little burger costs 8.25! The barbecue beans are still good but they use to be excellent because they use to add bits of meat in the beans and it costs 5.99 for 16ozs! I wanted to try the cakes but they did not look like they were homemade or fresh! The service was good and the cashier was cheerful and very professional!

This is some of the best food in the city hands down. The lady answering the phones on 2.10.24 at 12:50pm is one of the rudest ever, she put me on hold for over 5 mins then when I called back and asked her a question and told her to update the menu if they no longer serve turkey ribs she grunted and hung up in my face. Again the food here is amazing.

I have been going to A and R for more than 20 years. So, it pains me to see what the Hickory Hill location is doing to its legacy. I went there today 2/27/25 the front counter staff was friendly enough but the person in the back was yelling as they gave him the orders and being rude and almost aggressively telling them that he was not doing certain request. When I got my order, the meat was greasy, and the flavor was not there. They tasted like a bad copycat of A&R. I have been to this location numerous times I appreciate it is cleaner than past visits, but the staff need to be retrained and need to understand when they send bad food out, or yell from the kitchen about what "they were not gonna do" that they are ruining a family's reputation.

I got the Tricee special. (Pronounced treesee) It was very good. They were what I call baby wings. Very small but tasty. Fries were average but the mild bbq sauce was delightful. I would order this again.

One of the best BBQ spots in Memphis. The smoked wings are really good, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The rib tips were tender and tasteful. I normally dont eat okra but it was hot, fresh and very good (not slimy on the inside).
