Mel and Mia's is a kid friendly place with good coffee and good pastries. I've been here a few times and they always have kind customer service. There's a play area with a table and toys for kids. I haven't been to the tea room but it looks cute! There is definitely a homemade 90s cozy vibe to the place. This trip we ventured into a breakfast bowl and a Reuben sandwich. I would pass on both. For the price, both were not tasty/flavorful enough. The cookie was DELICIOUS and I don't usually like sugar cookies! It was soft and buttery and huge! I'll come back for sweet treats!

Treated my friend here yesterday afternoon for High Tea for his 60th birthday. He loves doing High Tea so when doing research I stumbled upon this cute place. His birthday was actually end of February but they were booked for tea until this weekend which was fine it didn't have to be on the exact day or month. First off I have to say everyone that works here is so friendly and helpful. Rebecca the owner did most of the service for the tea area along with one of the other employees. You can tell the shop is a very loved neighborhood spot lots of families enjoying a weekend breakfast. What was nice about the tea is that it is held in a smaller room towards the back where a door closes kind of cutting down the news from the main part of the shop. The soup of the day when we were here was Italian Wedding Soup we both selected it over the salad option. Was so good. I'm more of a savory person so the savory items on the tier are what appealed to me more. Flavors were good on the quiche Loraine but a little denser style. The strawberry turkey sandwich was a unique take, the usual cucumber sandwich and also ham and cheese puff were the savories on the tray. Sweets: Apricot Almond bar, Chocolate orange scone, Chocolate laminated pastry, macaron, cupcake and brownie. Generous and beautiful display with actual leaf teas steeped during covid we had some to go or delivered tea parties and this was the first time in a long time we didn't have to deal with a tea bag. They provide a list of teas and you can switch after the first but we stuck with the English Breakfast. Our favorite of the sweets was the Apricot Almond bar. I didn't have a chance to eat all of it there as I was full after the soup, a quarter of the quiche and one each of the sandwiches and. quarter of my scone. The brownie was rich and moist the frosting on top is less sweet than it looks. The macaron filling was a little to sweet for my taste but that's me I like less sweet and more savory. Would definitely recommend the experience to people it made for a fun afternoon and celebration of my friend.

The tea was nice. Coffee fresh, but a little bitter. The sweets were good. Service was good. Prices are very good. What didn't work for me was the atmosphere. It's in a run down strip mall and the building needs to be renovated at the least. Their decor skews heavily pink and frilly, which some may like. Not my thing. Worse on that count, the decor and furnishings are well past their prime. For those willing to look past this for excellent prices, perhaps this works. Not quite my cup of tea, but I wish them luck!

They call this place "Unique" and in many ways I get it. It's part financially responsible and locally accessible tea time at Harrod's, part American Dolls with daughters party time (minus the creepy overpriced doppelgänger glorified Cabbage Patch kids), and part embedded neighborhood fellowship Applebee's hangout.Visiting on a Sunday afternoon finds a young mommy's group in the back enjoying mini sweets. Not sure if it was a legit birthday party for one of their daughters or an excuse for the sisterhood to share the latest Edmonds Moms gossip, the place was rather full and the patrons happy. The Carmel mocha I had was fine and the Reuben sandwich was fine too. It's not the travel out of your way establishment. That isn't what makes this place. It's the "uniqueness" of its vibe, it's neighborhood connection--the opportunity to gather that sustains this place that I would say pays its bills. Mel & Mia has--without spending a Super Bowl ad amount of cash--managed to do that Fortune 500 companies struggle to do. Create connections and build community. The food is fine. It's good. It's clean. But don't give it the stars for the food alone. Stay for awhile and observe. See how people are just happier inside this place than outside it. Feel the vibe and embraces the kindness of the staff. That is what people pay for when they go out. They pay for the opportunities to connect without and create a memory. The pastries, the mini sandwiches, the teas, the coffees, they're just the souvenirs from the time you went a had a good time, connected with friends l, and kept this needed space called Mel's and Mia's open and alive.

The food is amazing! The ambience is wonderful and fun and relaxing. The service is family friendly and fantastic! This family owned gem in the corner of Perrinville is a wonderful spot to have "high tea" for everyone! I wish I knew about this place when my daughter was younger! They offer private tea parties in the back and it's so fun! Kids and adults get all dressed up for their afternoon tea events! So fun!!

Stopped by on our way to lunch and picked up some pastries/sweets! The Italian donuts are AMAZING and you can pick two toppings from a list of 8-10 toppings, we chose strawberry and Nutella. The donuts are made fresh/made to order so it took around 10-15 minutes of waiting until we got them. The Apple turnover was good but nothing too special. I probably wouldn't order it again. They also do afternoon tea service which my wife is excited to try someday haha.

We love this cute shop and bakery. The food is delicious. And so is the tea and coffee. It's run by a nice family in the neighborhood who are very friendly and helpful. It's a great place to come with children who enjoy things that are just a bit fancy. We love everything, but especially the waffles and the creme brulee.

I contacted them through their website for afternoon tea for one person. They're pretty responsive via email. Had to change the date from what I originally wanted due an event, but I was flexible so it worked out. When I walked in I was going to ask the person at the register what I needed to do/where to go, but the person working the tea room noticed I was dressed fancy, confirmed I was here for tea and escorted me to the right area while they were on their way in to help with another table. The tea room is in a separate area from the main cafe. Three tables set for four people each. Music was a nice touch to set the ambiance.I had afternoon tea, which wasn't quite as much food as high tea. (Their website is up to date with what both entail.)I chose the salad over soup and it was good...a little subtle with flavors and a small (side size) portion. The rest of the assortment seemed very sweet aside from the tea sandwiches...a scone with spreads and various cookies. Tasty, but sweet. I tried all three sandwiches - cucumber, strawberry and cream and meat and cheese, but didn't really favor one over any other. Also there was a sprinkle of parsley(?) on them, which I flicked off, but IMO was unnecessary. I also had chosen the raspberry tea. Also very subtle in flavors and I added the milk cause why not and it was good too.If you want a cute little cafe tea time experience then I recommend checking them out.
