I visited McCreary's randomly with my family (large group of 7) and immediately were seated. The staff were a bit rude towards my dad as they cleaned off the tables while he was speaking to us about where we were sitting and one of the waitresses snapped at him saying "just give us a second to clean." We were all just waiting patiently because it's a tight restaurant with no standing area. The rest of our visit, the waitstaff were quick and pleasant.I had ordered a Red and Gold (Smithwicks and Woodchuck) which was really good! I also ordered the bangers and mash with a cup of clam chowder. The Bangers and Mash were disappointing in both presentation and flavor. There was no gravy on the bangers which was really strange for an Irish pub. Instead, it came with horseradish sauce which was good but usually bangers come with onion gravy or beans and it came with neither. The sliced cheese was a little random and unnecessary, I think. The mashed potatoes were really good! The soda bread was the best I've ever had (haven't had much but I've never actually enjoyed soda bread until our visit). I wish I could have bought a whole loaf, it was that good. The clam chowder was delicious but super buttery which coated the top layer of the soup. Still, very good. All of my family enjoyed their meals, I was the only one that was disappointed in my choice (which is why gave 4 stars instead of 3...if it was just me, it would be a 3). My husband's cottage pie was amazing and I was definitely envious (except for the random slice of cheese on top)! (*note, I LOVE cheese, but the slices were throwing me off). My dad ordered the fish and chips which he really enjoyed, my aunt had a baked potato and was satisfied, and my grandma had ordered a sandwich and love it. The two others in our group had a large bowl of clam chowder and fries. My step-mom raved about the fries. So really, I was the only one that wasn't as happy with my order but everyone else was happy with their choices. Would I go back? Yes, but never for their bangers and mash that lacked onion gravy.

This is a cute little pub that we visited in this quaint little town. As soon as we came in, we had a very nice server and he said us down and quickly brought us some menus and asked what we wanted to drink. Unfortunately, we were not beer drinkers, but they seem to have a large variety of alcohol options. Once I looked on Yelp and saw that they had the Reuben as an option, I knew that I had to go there. The taste was phenomenal and the fries were extremely hot so be weary. The service was very quick and prices are reasonable.

One of the best gems of the Nashville/Franklin area!! McCreary's is such a fun environment with friendly staff, great food, and amazing deals. I recommend going for lunch around 2:30-3 PM, and then staying for 2-4-1 drafts starting at 3! Absolutely get the fish and chips entree and the loaded tots for an app! Also check out special events they hold, like their Saint Patrick's Day celebration!

I love this restaurant, the food is delicious. The servers are sometimes great and sometimes ho-hum. The ambience is fun and can be hectic when it's crowded so we try to go when it's not super busy. The tables are very close together since the restaurant is narrow, it can be hard to hear and talk at times. I get the chicken pot pie almost every time I go, my boyfriend got the fish and chips and commented on how crispy and tasty the breading is. They definitely keep an eye on their fryers and make sure the oil is fresh and hot.

If you are walking Main Street in Franklin and you are feeling a little Irish, stop in to McCreary's Pub. It's a small Pub, a few tables out side if the weather is nice, If they are busy grab a pint and stand outside. I grabbed a proper pint of Guinness to start with and some Corn Beef & Cabbage Egg rolls, very tasty with some spicy mustard. Then I had the Fish & Chips. The fish was very good, lightly battered. The fries are ok. I prefer a thinner fry.

First, the atmosphere is pretty spot-on in terms of capturing the ambiance of a public house. We've dined here numerous times when visiting Nashville/Franklin, and I'd say that service is usually reliable but seating is at a premium. The staff has always been friendly and thorough. The food is always reliably tasty and well prepared. It's pub fair so don't expect anything fancy, but you'll leave with a satisfied belly and palate.I'd say definitely give this place a try if you're in Franklin and there's a table available. I wouldn't wait more than 15 minutes to eat here though. There are other places with more seating and similar food without a long wait.

Friday night we decided on the local pub for dinner- and quickly realized the band- Johnny Jameson and the Empty Pints was quite popular. Dinner was later than we planned but we loved the live music- lots of popular Irish drinking songs and the crowd was encouraged to sing along! We visit Nashville quite a bit and looking up Johnny Jamison's schedule will be part of our planning. Beer selection had lots of choices but we went with Guinness and cider! And the food- FANTASTIC! The loaded tots are a must for a starter. Then fish and chip, bangers & mash, cottage pie and a Ruben were all amazing- so good I forgot to get any pictures of the food.
