I have not dined at McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks in many years where my wife wanted a romantic dinner on our first night in Atlanta. The place was not busy at all. We were seated at a table where the furniture looked dated except the private booths. The lighting was way too bright for business dinner restaurant. The menu had some nice offerings and decided on the Parmesan Crusted Flounder which included Piccata Style Shrimp, Mashed Potatoes, and Asparagus. Our waitress was so so where did not really add to the experience dining here. When my food arrived I noticed two large pieces of fish. I was also surprised to see three huge shrimp on top of it. I rather just have the fish. The asparagus looked awful and stayed away from it. The flounder tasted good where the crust needed a bit more flavor but did complement well with the mashed potatoes. Overall expected more from McCormick & Schmick's.

I've been to many M&S's all over the country. Granted it's been awhile but I was totally shocked that when asking the bartender about the happy hour menu she informed me the "manager has decided it is only offered to members of the club today"Really? The poor bartender had to try and sell me a membership for $25. What a joke, especially since the Atlanta M&S website shows the happy hour menu- with no restrictions. I'm guessing this is a local thing and maybe the corporate office should look into it. If not, bye bye forever M&S. The second star is for the well made martini. I see danger on the horizon for this chain.....red lobster anyone???

This was my first time at this restaurant & I was excited to try. I came for a birthday party so the menu was already fixed. I will go in order of the food had, since this was a full course meal. Appetizers: 10/10 The appetizers were nothing to write home about but it was definitely good, nothing I can complain about. Clam Chowder: 6/10 This was pretty good, kinda salty but tasted like an average clam chowder, wouldn't order anything like this again. Mixed Greens: 9/10 I am only taking away a point since I am allergic to walnuts and had to pick through them. Overall this salad was pretty good.Entree: 10/10 My entree was a 6oz Center Cut Filet Mignon (prepared medium) & Shrimp ScampiM&S Steak Butter, Mashed Potatoes, Chef's Seasonal Vegetables. The vegetables were dry and undercooked, however the steak was the star. The steak was cooked to perfection and was super tender. I would go back for just the steak alone. Crème Brulee w/Fresh Berries: 10/10 I hate burnt sugar and most restaurants cant make a decent creme brulee but this creme brulee was creamy and the sugar wasn't burnt & bitter. The overall service was pretty good, this was a private dinner so that may have played a huge role. The dinner was hosted in a private room which was beautiful, kind of outdated but overall a great experience.

The food was great and the service was ok. it seemed like maybe our server was spread a bit thin trying to take care of our party in one area and all of their other tables too. We had quite a bit of time between their visits to our table. The dolce sangria was a nice way to start the evening. Their fresh warm sourdough bread was also a nice touch. The shrimp kisses were a nice balance of savory and sweet, but with a small kick. The shrimp & grits were perfection - the corn in the grits made for a nice texture too. The prices felt a little steep. As a party of 10 we were also surprised to learn when we arrived and had been seated already, that they won't split checks at all. I do understand having that as a policy but it would've been nice to know when making the reservation versus when we'd already been seated.

We had a delightful meal before a concert downtown at M&S. The staff were charming and attentive. However the cooks were behind. We received one of our salads AFTER all our food was eaten. 20 minutes late. Other than that it was a great experience! We ordered 4 appetizers to split between 4 of us and 2 salads:Shrimp Kisses-bacon and cheese wrapped shrimp with chili glaze. Delicious! 5/5Seared Tuna-everyone loved, large portions 5/5Steamed Oysters: 4 and we're just ok. Luke warm.4/5Calamari- tempura fried but came with no sauce. Sad.4/5House bread-warm with butter and heavenly.5/5Strawberry Goat cheese-pecan salad were fresh and 5 star.Overall, great positive vibes and close to venue. Will try again!

Visited on Christmas Day 2023 - ok let's start with the pros.Pros;- Naima (hostess), Eddie (manager) and, Jas ( server) were all amazing..Naima did great assisting restaurant guest and others that came to her for service/questions. Eddie did a fantastic job at managing on Christmas Day. And Jas provided honest and great customer service to our table.-My entree, the Stuffed Salmon was good. Nothing out of this world, but a decent dish.- The Lavender Haze was absolutely delicious Cons:- The Oyster Rockefeller was uncooked and assembled poorly. I love grilled oysters and for the price and wait time, I definitely expected more. The spinach was simply sauteed and not a cohesive item.- My partner's steak was served extremely well done when requested medium. I do appreciate Jas and the staff for quickly cooking a new one once we raised awareness.- My mother in law did not enjoy her fried shrimp and stated it was tough. We understand that it was a holiday and the restaurant was busy. However, the food was not enjoyed by all which caused the evening to end on an unsatisfied note. -

Sit at the bar! Sean is a legendary mixologist and made the most classic cocktails while carrying on conversation and keeping us engaged all night. You'll make new friends and honestly I had a delicious dinner with a great vibe.

We got here early thinking we could sneak in before the dinner rush but their reservations were booked solid. Luckily they had FCFS seating in their bar area and we were able to snag 2 open seats. Bartenders/waitresses were busy since it was a Friday night. Shawn was one of the main bartenders who helped us. Called us by our names, checked in. Overall did a great job! The other bartenders did not give us the time of day, although Shawn said any one of them could help us. We ordered calamari and tuna for appetizers. Both were okay. Calamari could have used more thicker sauce, it didn't stick to it very well. Came out quick. Entrees we ordered Ribeye and Shrimp & Grits. Both again were good, but missed the wow factor for us to want to go back and order them again. For dessert we had the butter cake. Very moist, took forever for it to arrive. Overall we had a great experience. I'm sure we would have had a whole different experience sitting at a table in their dining room with a server. The food was good, but if we come back I would try something else.
