Picked Maxwell SE because of its 4 stars on Yelp. Let me say that they are well deserved. Service: 10/10 The man who took our order was so nice, he explained what came on the hot dogs with patience and efficiency. He even came out after and gave us fresh hot fries for free. Food: 10/10 FAST, FRESH AND DELICIOUS!!!! All were so flavorful and each hotdog comes with fries. The price point and flavor are unbeatable! Ambiance: There was one small table that comfortably fit 5 outside. I wish there was more seats, as it only had this single table. The sun was bright out, so it was perfectly enjoyable to eat outside. Overall: while in Chicago, come to Maxwells!

Always fresh delicious and quick !!! A personal favorite... The entire menu is Fabulous and don't forget the frozen drinks.....

They are not closed. Just bought 4 steak tacos from there. They come with lettuce tomatoes and cheese but I requested onions and cilantro. They were ok. But since it was 7AM. I have no complaints.

This place sells some great steak tacos with homemade sauce for only $2.45 and it was quite tasty. I didn't pay the extra for the sour cream, extra cheese and something else...but it still was packed with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and very flavorful meat. Someone told me about this place months ago but I'm like a Maxwell's that sells taco "No Thanks" because I experienced it from another Maxwell's before and it was just ok...so it took me a moment to give this place a try, but I'm glad I did.They also sell pizza, steak sandwiches and the ole stand-bys like most Maxwell's.I haven't had any of that but I will oh yes I will and soon...lolThey have a few benches outside so you could eat your food if you don't want to sit in your car and chow down.I should have sat down but I had other errands to run so yeah I made a big mess as I walked to my next location, but it was worth it.Only thing I wish is that I would have bought 3 tacos instead of 1...lol "TRUTH!!!"You can go to that Aldi's first and get some sour cream and peppers if you are on a budget then you can get 4 tacos.I'm silly I know but I already plan on updating my review when I taste some other foods that have here.So, look for it because I hope they don't disappoint me and ruin my first experience.One more thing my food was hot and very. The man who took my order was very nice and people kept coming into the establishment...some seem to know them.They do take credit and debit cards but I'm not sure if there is a minimum you have to buy if you use it.They are open 24 hours as well which is cool if you want a late night snack...or an early one depending on how you look at it.So as always...Enjoy!!!

I truly hope someone from management see this review...I am in the most level of shock. I'm 45 yrs old & have been eating Maxwell food all my life...tonight was the 1st time ever that my order was so beyond messed up & the reaction from the supposed "manager" on site was horrendous. I asked for 4 fish sandwiches - 3 how they are prepared (cheese & tartar sauce) & 1 just cheese. I got 3 sandwiches with Tartat sauce inky & 1 sandwich with tartar & cheese. While the young gentleman took the order & went to prepare it. The older hispanic man (supposedly the manager) came and asked me in the lowest voice possible if I wanted 2 with cheese only or 1...to which I stated 1 cheese only. Upon realizing the order was wrong...I take it back (never left the curve). The older gentleman quick asked me what's wrong...I explain it to he & he tells me that he had asked me if I wanted cheese on all the sandwiches, which is not what he asked...they made the sandwiches again and charged me 1.50 for their mistake & again get my cheese only sandwich wrong again...my nephew spits it our. I go back again & ask to speak to the manager...low & behold it is the nosey Hispanic man...who by the way also asked if we wanted onions on my sandwiches (not part of the original order). Once I asked to speak to the manager, the ol Hispanic man could only tend to the cash register...which I know is his ppsition...he's always the 1 take the money. The cook (unfortunately, comesbforward to handle the errors made by the order gentleman to which he stays the the younger gentleman who original took my order is new & doesn't know what he is doing...mind you this young (white) guy has no disappeared & nowhere to be see. A cook that is at a fry station points to another gentleman when I asked for a manager...not pointing to the Hispanic man & was waved off...he just shut his mouth and turned around. Then I'm told by the cook that the old Hispanic man is the too manager (adding in a low voice) for tonight. I said there is noone above him...he said no...I asked not even an owner? No answer. I have never receive this level of disrespectful service for this establishment...never ever any issues with my issues...to come here today and made to feel like I didn't know what I was order when I have been ordering fish sandwiches for years. I can handle a mistake from a food establishment...that doesn't bother me, especially from a place like this that is constantly busy. But to blame the customer for an employee's mistake is beyond comprehensible. So sad that a proud Chicagoan after a life time of patronage is made to feel like a stupid ass because they couldn't take accountability for their mistake. I hope this review is noticed by the owners because I'm sure if they do this to a local...how they must be with tourists aho don't know their menu & are recommended to come here because it is 1 of the best Chicago hidden gems.

I always get the polish with everything on it and the double cheese burger its delicious,and you get your order fast no long wait luv it,that is my go to restaurant when am on 116th the best.

I tried the "cheese pizza puff" (vegetarian). It was a great price (less than $4), especialmy considering that it came with a side order of fries. Even though the line was busy, the cashier was quick, and the food was delicious!

Good food Gyro lacking a little love but everything else slaps! That polish and torta go crazy. Them fries your gonna wanna get you a large big fella straight fire.
