Maxi's Chinese Restaurant

We ordered take out and everything we ordered looked exactly the same and tasted extremely bland. The only edible item were the potstickers and they were average at best. We were so excited and then so so disappointed.

This review is probably long long overdue but like they say better late than never. Having just read a bunch of recent reviews from the past couple years and seeing the poor quality service and food that this restaurant is still dishing out I'm just amazed that they've managed to stay in business for the past 20+ years or so. I personally wrote this place off at least 15 years ago I think tried them a few times couple date nights a take out order or two and every time was just terrible food dirty restaurant and complete failure. Sadly what I remember most about this place besides the crappy food and terrible wait staff, was the stench of cigarettes that was inside the dining room because back then patrons could smoke in the lounge bar area that is inside this particular restaurant. I'm pretty sure state law has no more smoking allowed inside any bars anywhere so at least that problem is fixed. But 15 years later they're still dishing out terrible food and have far below average servers. Chinese food is so easy and simple to prepare properly given fresh ingredients and a knowledgeable chef/cook. Obviously this place has neither hence all the terrible reviews it gets on its nasty food. Add in the fact that it's a less desirable restaurant to work at so it doesn't draw the top tier servers because they know they're gonna make terrible tips working here because of the crappy food being served. It's a perpetual cycle and the customers are the big losers. It's a hard pass - Chinese takeout from the deli at your local grocery store is better than what this place dishes out.

Fried rice was dry to the point I choked on it. Chicken tasted rancid (old grease?). Too salty and oily, the bag looked like it was in deep fryer along with food. Vomited within 30 minutes of eating, likely food poisoning. Stay clear or plan for painful night.

Four stars for the vibe of the restaurant and the friendliness of the staff. Staff is welcoming and they engage with the customers. Fun restaurant to hang out with friends and have a few drinks or sing karaoke. I'm used to authentic Chinese food so the food is honestly too Americanized to me. The quality and authenticity of food could use some improvement. Regardless, there really aren't many options in Marysville for Chinese food. This restaurant has been around for a long time so it's always nice to support a local business.

Came in for dinner, ordered, about 5 minutes later a group of 5 came in and ordered, then I was asked again about my order. The group of 5 got 3 rounds of food when I asked where mine was, was told out was on the rail....5 minutes later I asked again and out why they got served before me, was told, " they are family, I don't know what to tell you".I'm a paying customer and a simple order, not 4 or 5 plates of food ... really??? Service SUCKS...jon!!!If there was less than one star.... that is what they would get!!!

The food is very good, especially for the price very large portion comes with soup, then 3 different types of meat I got the almond chicken and the Szechuan chicken, and it came with fried prawns The sweet-and-sour sauce goes really well with the fried prawns. Also comes with fried rice. I would definitely come back. Service is great. Food was great and they have a nice bar with great ambiance. It's a great local restaurant where alot of the locals go.

Egg noodle soup so thick was disgusted, cheap food just like any other Chinese restaurants around here

Thought we'd give this place a go. Horrible service and after an hour of waiting for our food we gave up. They had the audacity to charge us 15.00 dollars for 2 cokes and a cup of watered down hot and soup. I will not willingly go back there. It would have been nice if they at least apologized for the wait and brought appetizers or something.. do better folks.

Service great, Food Great. Went on a wednesday around 5pm and all of the food we had was really good. Szechuan Chicken was so good, also the Honey walnut prawns...two of my favourites. Still the same as the old owners, new owners haven't changed anything...cooks and wait staff are still there and great.

New Owner. The old owner amazing. Not anymore. Twice been here after new ownership and after 45 minutes wait food questionable. The staff is amazing and someone needs to tell this new owner to get it together !
