I am so disappointed that Matt's decided to change the menu AND overall quality of the food. This restaurant used to deserve 5 stars in my eyes. This restaurant was the always reliable, always delicious, go-to neighborhood restaurant. Happy Hour was always killing it with the fan favorites like the nachos, wings and burger. The regular dinner menu was also very delicious with the classics. Best thing about Matt's was that the food consistently tasted delicious with big portions. NOW? What the hey!? The menu basically shrunk dare I say by approximately 50% and removed a ton of the favorites (where are the nachos!?!?!). Also, the quality of the food is not as good as before. My family and I went to Matt's for dinner this week. Disappointed. Again, my beloved nachos no longer available. The burger was overcooked and lacking the pizazz factor from before. Calamari was still delicious but reduced in portion size. Fish and chips were just okay with the batter not very crispy. I guess what I am trying to convey is that I MISS THE OLD MATT'S! Thank you.

1. ServiceA party of 5. We showed up at 5 on a Saturday and only 1/3 of the tables were taken. We were still stuffed into a 4 top booth. I squeezed into one side and my plate was on the very edge of the table. We had zero elbow room. Luckily we're family. The server himself was very friendly and polite. They didn't clear the table at appropriate intervals. The server didn't bring the food at the same time and our prime rib came on a separate plate than our sides, not a big deal if the food had actually been good. I'll get to those details. 2. The foodThree of us had a 9oz prime rib, one fish taco and a burger. We requested medium rare prime rib. All of our cuts were rare. Both mine and my boyfriends cuts were cold, and fatty and served in a puddle of au jus that had a really weird taste. If you cut off the fat it was probably only around 6oz, which would still be okay if it had actually been warm and tender. It was extremely chewy. My dentist would be proud because I had to chew each bite twice the number of suggested times in order to even swallow because it was not tender. It was cold, gross, chewy, fatty. I know what you're thinking - prime rib is fatty - but I assure you. I know what it's supposed to taste like. We look forward to fancy restaurants all year for special occasions like each other's birthdays or holidays. We go to Daniel's Broiler, John Howie, Prime, Russells, Walla Walla Steakhouse, etc. We try new places all over the Puget sound. We had better cuts of prime rib at the keg than this overpriced creatively named Matt's restaurant. I couldn't even finish and I'm in the clean plate club. Halfway through, the prime rib started looking like when an outdoor cat kills an animal and leaves the guts on your porch as a gift. I'm not even being hyperbolic. I wish I had taken a photo. We're not the kind of family that complains and you could easily see everyone was very disappointed. I tried to choke it down but I couldn't do it. At least I had room for dessert. Which was fine. Dad said his bread pudding was so so, and I had a cobbler which tasted like it came from frozen and not scratch. Still it is pretty hard to ruin. You can't really ruin vanilla ice cream either. For 41$? I wouldn't eat this food for free. Oh AND they had bottles of Cava - Segura Viudas - it's like a sparkling wine that is made in Spain. I actually like this wine a lot but Matt's wanted $12 a glass & $44 a bottle - HOWEVER! This wine is not special, it's widely available locally at all grocery stores for an average of 8 to 12 - so they aren't even genuinely promoting upscale wine. At wholesale, they're probably making 40$ per bottle on the mark up. I stopped by QFC on the way home and bought 6 bottles for 48$.3. Ambiance & restaurantAs soon as I walked in, I thought this looks like the kind of place Gordon Ramsey would try to save on Kitchen Nightmares even though they don't deserve it. The womens restaurant was disgusting. Mom said her stall was covered in puke. When she told me at first - I thought someone drank too much - but today I'm thinking it was probably the food.On the sconces (where candles should be) in the bathroom they had those little generic tubs of odor absorder that you can buy at the dollar store. The whole bathroom was decorated really trashy like they plucked a few dusty interior decor items from a pile in your hoarder great grandparents house. The servers/hosts/server assistants were all really nice, and you can tell they care, but they're doing the best job they can with what Matt's give them.Unfortunately, this Saturday night dinner was a bust. I can handle cheesy decor but when you're clearly cutting corners on the quality of food to keep costs down, it ruins everything. One star.

Came here for a business dinner and had the pork chop. It was excellent. Our server was patient and attentive. He also offered tips when he was asked. Restaurant is comfortable but noisy. Lots of parking as its part of the mall.

Was in Redmond and stopped in for HH. Their deep fried calamari is delightful and so delicious. It's lightly fried and so tender. Will definitely return for more. My other half ordered a couple gin martinis and fish tacos which were also delicious and worth coming back for. We have visited before but it was years ago and pre COVID days. We sat at the bar and enjoyed our food and drinks. Bartender was great and checked in with us often. Lots of patrons visiting for HH (happy hour)We definitely return for more.

I went to Matts a few days ago and it was pretty good. I didn't go for the sit down table and went to the bar directly. The bartender working there was pretty fast in greeting me and providing me with menu. I chose to go with their fresh oysters along with nachos. The oysters were fresh and tasty. They came with cocktail sauce and another very light sauce which I didn't know the name for. I personally prefer cocktail sauce much more so that's what I used. The nachos I had was very good, loaded with cheese and chicken. It was delicious and I was really surprised that I finished it all by myself. The restaurant itself is in the 2nd floor and is pretty large. There is a lot of parking spot available so it is very convenient for families large or small.

Good for hh - or used to be. Still have hh menu but I don't think it's as good but probably bc of inflation everywhere. Good chips and queso. The fried oysters were dried and too herby. Sliders look good but I didn't eat any so I can't rate it.

Rare 3.5 A dear cousin brought me here to this restaurant. I'm not sure if this was an off night but the food just wasn't as good as they bragged about it a week ago. Maybe cause it was late in the evening? I don't know. But that shouldn't be a reason to not have quality food.

Great service set a wonderful tone for the meal. A highlight was the fabulous fresh oysters. The fried oysters were good, but not crispy. Very plump and moist, but would have liked crunch on the outside instead of damp. My fried chicken sandwich tasted very good, but I had to eat it with a knife a fork. The roll didn't hold up to picking it up. The haystack fries were perfect, thin, seasoned, and very crunchy. The rotisserie chicken meal was generous and seasoned well. We loved the hot chocolate dessert with a rich, warm chocolate cake topped with ice cream. We would definitely go back.

Really 3.5Happy hour after a long day. We able to find table top and check out the menu. The restaurant was full, but the noise wasn't bad at all. I appreciate the lighting because I had a very long day. We had a wonderful server. I wish I could recall her name because she had that nice balance of friendly and personable and respected our privacy I mean, she was definitely a five. We decided to order some flatbread, and I got tacos along with the cocktail. Food arrived in reasonable amount of time, especially how busy they were. The food was pretty good. I didn't stand out, but it certainly was good. Because we ordered happy hour food the pricing was quite reasonable. I would give the food a solid 3 I mean it was good, but not memorable. I wouldn't turn down an invitation to eat there again however, I probably wouldn't be the one making this suggestion
