Matt's Big Breakfast has been on my list for a while and finally had a chance to visit for Sunday brunch back in March. The restaurant was buzzing and the dining room was packed. They have outdoor seating and fortunately, there was no wait for it.Our server was fantastic. She was fast and friendly. We ordered the following:Grains, greens, & beans $13.49 x2Short stack griddlecakes (2) $8.99Side of avocadoSide of tomatoesMy husband and I both ordered the Grains, Greens, & Beans for our main entree. The bowl features farro, sautéed baby spinach, heirloom Anasazi beans topped with two poached eggs, crushed herbs, and pink Himalayan sea salt. You have the option to add mushrooms for $2.25, which we did. The bowl was hearty and tasty. The side of avocado and tomatoes were great additions to the bowl. Since we both have a sweet tooth, we added the short stack griddlecakes (2). The griddlecakes hit the spot. We'll be back!

Stopped here after my friends and I took a morning walk in the park before the heat started to blast us. One of our friends suggested this for our breakfast after our walk. I've never gone here before. The location is perfect for those who live deep in Gilbert. The area is rapidly growing with brand new apartment buildings, restaurants and bars. Upon our entrance a gentlemen loudly Welcomed us in, which was nice and stated that we could sit anywhere. Very nice! There was no line so we didn't have to wait which was nice. It was a Fryyah morning, therfore, most humans were at work, or still sleeping while my friends and I played hookie to hang. Lol jkOur waitress was amazing and on top of keeping our water glasses and coffee cups filled. I ordered the egg scramble special but with egg whites, home potatoes with rosemary seasoning that I wasn't a big fan of, toast and a side pancake( we ordered a side of 3 and shared the pancakes which, made sense). My plate had an nice presentation of peppers and spices over my egg whites, making one of my friends to second guess being my friend that day. Lol She was a bit taken back by my peppers, compared to what was on hers. Lol My meal was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of seasoning but, again the potatoes weren't my fav due to the rosemary seasoning. That same friend and I, also had the bottomless coffee which... was ok, but could have been stronger..kinda watered down. I drank 3-4 cups because, I really wanted to wake up and gain more energy to continue my day. Our other friend had a salad, which looked fresh. Looked healthy There's plenty of parking onsite. There's also other cute boutiques and small business's. I liked that, the apartments above has easy access to walk downstairs for their entertainment and to have brunch without having to move their vehicles or go far. This part of Gilbert is a Lil further over for my liking however, I'd definitely return here with my out of town guests, and other Friends in the future. Thanks again for great service guys!

Good spot to catch breakfast with my friends after a walk in nearby Gilbert park. This restaurant sits situated in a new community with apartments, bars, shopping and more. We were able to be seated immediately. The daily special looked so good we had ordered two. My friend ordered her Friday Scramble with egg whites and I got my with 3 whole eggs. The dish was good but mine lacked peppers. I only had 2 red peppers in my whole dish meanwhile my friends dish has so many red peppers. The home fries were super tasty and chalked with rosemary. My othet friend got the skinny omelet which came with a great salad (too much argula for me). All in all a good breakfast. The coffee was plentiful and hot. The pancakes were disappointing. I only ate half of my shared pancakes. The vermont maple syrup was good but overall I would not recommend the pancakes.

This place was busy, but we expected it to be on a Saturday. Once we sat we got our food pretty fast. Our server was medium, I know they were busy and we were on the patio but it was a little too much.We got the big papa burrito and i'm not sure what else but it was really good, fresh. I loved the hash browns! I honestly wish they had diet coke tho!!

Matt's Big Breakfast is a local chain. I came across a list that had the best pancakes in each state. Matt's pancakes (specifically the blueberry ones) were named the best in AZ. With that in mind, we made a point of going to the one closest to our hotel. We went for a late breakfast on a weekday. The place was doing a brisk business but we were seated immediately upon entering. They have seating indoors as well as covered outdoor seating. We chose to eat inside.A server came to our table in short order. Of course, I chose the blueberry pancakes and a glass of lemonade. My husband ordered scrambled eggs with sausages and hash browns plus a cup of coffee. This dish also comes with some toast. The service here is slow. Oddly enough, all the diners we noticed were unfazed by this. What that tells me is that they like the food so much that they're willing to wait for however long it takes. When the food finally came, we were eager to dig in. Each order of pancakes comes with three of them. These were awesome pancakes. They are thick, moist and fluffy. The amount of fresh blueberries is very generous. I spread the butter around and poured some syrup on them. This was a surprisingly filling meal. Much as I enjoyed it, I just couldn't eat it all. I let our server know that I did like the pancakes but I was full!My husband liked his breakfast. The only thing he thought needed work was the hash brown potatoes. He said they were on the dry side. Otherwise, he gladly ate it all.We would definitely go to Matt's again next time we're in town. Until then, I'll just have to dream about the pancakes :)

My friend took me to breakfast here for my birthday. The inside is nice and inviting and the servers were helpful and friendly. My omelet was huge and I took at least half home for the next day!! My friend had the biscuits and gravy daily special and they were so good. Will come back with my hubs to try it again!

Went here for breakfast the other day with a girlfriend and the pancakes were pretty good. I liked my scrambled egg. I was not a huge fan of the bacon just because I do not prefer thick cut bacon with a bunch of pepper, but I see what they are going for.good customer service.I would definitely come back and try other things on the menu. I'm interested in the hamburger.

The last two times we have ordered the cheese omelette with mushrooms we have had major stomach issues. It has been very greasy and the eggs have no flavor. The hash browns are inedible as were the breakfast potatoes. We hate having to throw away our meals. The sourdough toast was good.

My family and I were in Gilbert visiting when we decided to have breakfast together before heading home. I've had Matt's Big Breakfast before in Phoenix (Arcadia) and loved it! So, I wanted my husband and kiddos to give it a try. The atmosphere is great! From the outside to the inside of the restaurant, everything was nice, modern, and clean. Not to mention, they had great music playing the whole time! When we walked in, the staff greeted us and allowed us to sit wherever we wanted. I really love this concept of sitting where you like and the staff helping each other out to serve the customers. Shows great team work, which they all did! Also, the manager (i think he was) came to our table to see how we were doing and what we thought of the food. It's always nice when management checks in too. The service among all the staff were beyond our expectations. Thank you so much! As for the food, AMAZING!!!! DELICIOUS!!!! SATISFYING!!!! My husband and kiddos were not disappointed. My husband and I had the Chick & Hog, which comes with eggs, ham, toast, and choice of potatoes. We're on a special diet, so we substituted regular eggs for the egg whites. We also chose the home fries, which are my absolute FAVE! I love the flavor put in to the potatoes (rosemary) along with the onions and other seasonings. Such a great combination! The ham was cooked to perfection along with the eggs! The toast was great as well. I like how they added butter to the toast and placed the toasts on top of each other with the butter inside so that the butter melts in to the toast. EXCELLENT! My husband could not believe how good the breakfast was! He really enjoyed every bite! Unfortunately, they do not have a kids menu, but that was okay because we just split a meal between my two daughters (6 y/o and 2 y/o), which fed them both perfectly! They had the cheese omelette with hash browns. Both girls loved it! My 6 y/o bragged about the cheese and how it tasted with the eggs. So much that she asked me to learn how to make them at home. LOL! As for the hash browns, I don't believe she really enjoyed them because she took one bite and then picked at it after. My 2 y/o love everything! She ate the eggs and cheese and the hash brown. Overall, everything was beyond our expectations! Excellent job Matt's Big Breakfast Gilbert!!! We will be back again for sure.
