First time coming in to Matt's in the Market. We love The White Swan so why wouldn't we love this place. Great views of the iconic Pike Market. The ambiance was great and everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. Our server suggested two great wines with our dinners. The Seared Scallops and the Lamb Shank were amazing. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Matt's in the Market is one of the few restaurants that I consistently recommend to visitors for the whole end-to-end Pike Place Market experience - Matt's being at the high-end dinner of that spectrum. I have had no complaints yet. Reservations are highly recommended. If you reserve at the start of the shift, lunch or dinner, be sure to request a table by the window. A 4-persons table is one of the best tables in the restaurant to see the PPM sign, Rachael the pig(gy bank), and a peekaboo view of the tossing fishes. That was my first table at Matt's. I have been in love with them ever since. On the most recent visit, we were lollygagging along the waterfront, having a stroll, enjoying the beautiful sunset, when I wanted to have dinner at Matt's. A phone call later, they were able to fit the two of us at the bar. They are full service at the bar, and we were entertained by a very swift bartender with the many drinks he made and also took our order. The restaurant is very packed. Matt's is one of several PPM restaurants that are routinely frequented by locals more than visitors. Good for them. The Food:Spanish Octopus, $29 - 5 Stars Menu: pancetta, potato, tomato, bread crumbI keep telling myself to stop eating octopus because they are so intelligent, etc., etc. But then they are so delicious when cooked right. (Shame on me) I caved because it's Matt's!!! This dish is so divine with the bread. Que: order the bread. Artisan Bakery Bread, $5 - 4 StarsMenu: plugra butter, sel gris Speaking of bread, Matt's offer their bread fairly basic as sliced baguette pieces with a slice of butter and salt. I wish restaurants offer a pure bread only option to eat with the sauces of the food. I don't care much about the butter and don't want to waste it.Pan Roasted Black Cod, $55 - 4.5 Stars Menu: celery root puree, cauliflower, caper, sultanaThe menu shows halibut, but they substituted with black cod, which I prefer. It is such a beautifully cooked black cod. Look at the layers of the fish and the crunchy seared skin in my photo. Gorgeous! The celery puree and the cauliflower are mildly flavored sideshows of this ensemble. Lamb Shank, $50 - 5 StarsMenu: bulgur wheat, delicata squash, charred onion, pomegranateThis has got to be the most beautifully caramelized lamb shank I have ever laid eyes upon. It was tender fall of the bone. The sauce is delicious, and the bulgur wheat was an excellent accompaniment for the sauce. Highly recommend!

Get a reservation via OpenTable. Limited seating in a cool industrial building at The Market on Pike St. menu is very focused, for example diner has about 6 or 8 entrees a handful of apps and 2 deserts. That's not a knock at all as focus here is definitely a benefit to quality. Tonight the halibut was substituted with black cod. To be fair, I never had the halibut at Matt's before, but I feel that I was fortunate to come on a black cod evening as it was ridiculously amazing. My good fried ordered the King salmon and let me taste. OMG. Melt in the mouth only begins to describe how wonderful both filets were. The skins was perfectly seared and seasoned and made the epicurean delight all the better. For an app, we shared the beat salad and would 100% do it again. The salad came with 2 types of what tasted like goat cheese with nuts and mint leaves. Wow. Bread on the side with sea salt butter was perfect to accompany the great wine choices. Couldn't decide on which of the 2 desserts to order, so opted for both the Panacotta and the bread pudding. Either way you will be amazed. Not cheap to do Matt's right, but worth it if you do. Enjoy!

I've been meaning to try to this place! It does not disappoint! Highly recommend coming here with a big group so you can try more things. It's hard being in the middle of pikes you already have so many options. Everything here was really good. I tried the seafood chowder,Oysters on the half shell and the falafel. Everything was delicious and driven by fresh ingredients!

Food: 4.5 starsAmbience: 4.0 starsService: 3.0 starsPrice: 2.0 starsOverall the food was excellent, loved the halibut and the scallops on the dinner menu. The fish was cooked perfectly, crisp on the outside with a tender interior.Service was pretty average, about in line with Seattle standards.Shocker was the price, we spent around $100 per person including tip and tax. Each entree is $50+ on the dinner menu. Throw in a cocktail at $20 and you've easily spent three figures. Not good in terms of price performance.

We are visiting Seattle on our way to cruise to Alaska and staying next to pikes market. This place gets good reviews and did not disappoint. We had the clam and mussel appetizer excellent with the spicy sausage to kick up the flavor . The bread was an extra $5 but was well worth it with the salted butter. The salmon and scallops were also very flavorful snd well presented. We enjoyed the atmosphere as well as there attention to detail .

Had an outstanding dining experience at Matt's seafood! The seafood stew was a true highlight, bursting with exquisite flavors, and the beet salad was a flavor sensation. Seating at the chef's table allowed us to witness the meticulous preparation, and it's evident that the chef takes immense pride in every plate. The beautiful presentation and incredible flavors make Matt's seafood a must-try.
