This Matt's Big Breakfast opened a little over a year ago and is a welcome addition to the Arrowhead Brunch scene. Due to the pandemic, it took a while for them to open. And we were soooo excited when the sign went up, being a big fan of their busy downtown PHX location. Yes! Wait times are in the forty-five minutes range, but there are some shaded seats outside. Granted the kitchen can sometimes be slow. But we tend to use the extended downtime for conversation Three of us already had the menu memorized before coming here. LOL So we each ordered our usuals... BLT with a side of Country Sausage protein, Waffles with Bacon and their huge Papa Breakfast Burrito with a side of Hash Browns. Delicious. Again nothing is pre-made here so there is a wait. But it's worth it. Nothing like Matt's.

Our family wanted to try this restaurant out and after a first service at church on Sunday I thought I'd call ahead to see if they took reservations for large parties. The gal said no but that at the moment there was one table that would accommodate our party of seven but maybe two options if the tables turn. She couldn't guarantee they'd still have the availability when we arrived as it's a rather small place but she'd try to save the area if possible. Ten minutes later we arrived and we and another couple were told to sit anywhere. Uh oh... only one possible area to put tables together for us so I asked the couple if we could take them as there were two other four tops. Was dismayed that the gal hadn't tried... but it worked out. Menu is limited which I didn't know ahead of time. Turns out it is a scratch kitchen. Everything we ordered was very good. Service was good as well. Bacon exceptional and pancakes huge. Unfortunately they don't have a child's menu... but creative ordering could help provide enough food from everyone's plates. Portions are ample. Sliced ham was huge.

"Hog and Chick" is the best breakfast I've had in years! Sausages in skins that are sourced from Queen Creek AZ, crispy yet tender inside hash browns, hearty real butter buttered artisan whole wheat toast from a local supplier, and eggs made perfectly to order. The berry preserves (delish enough so that with my last crust of bread, I scraped out the last bit of yumminess) weren't in those plastic packages but were put into reusable condiment containers and such attention to reducing the plastic waste stream is not lost on me--hopefully plastic straws can be switched out to paper in the future. My friend had the Weekend Scramble which he said had just the right amount of heat to perk up the eggs mixed with chicken sausage and fresh rosemary home fries and a fresh tortilla. We didn't have the freshly squeezed orange juice or the locally roast small-batch coffee, but no problem since this a place we want to return to. And I didn't even mention the attentive friendly staff and the cozy ambiance complete with a farm and local sites mural! It is a little pricier than I'd like, but because of the freshness and conscientious sourcing, I can justify it.Some improved signage would help as Matt's is pretty much lost in the little strip mall, but the outdoor umbrellas do garner some attention, although the sign is so faded that it's hard to see "Matt's" and since it shared an awning with "Mug" haircuts, my first impression was that Matt's had closed and an eatery called Mug had taken its place!

Nice, clean location.Customer Service was good, got everything I ordered on a timely basis.Ordered the Big Papa Burrito, the tortilla was soggy, probably had too many jalapeño for my liking, should have asked for less. I have had better at this location.I will be back for another try.

Great place to have scratch cooked meals. Everyone is friendly and super honest. I left something here, and a week later, it was still here. Thank you so much.

First time trying this place. I got a take out and when checking the prices I thought it was a little pricey. However the service was fast on a Holiday Monday and the food was delicious. A lot of parking space's accessible. No outdoor sitting but the location seemed nice inside.

There's not a lot to say. They post their diners drive-ins and dives, but don't really advertise it. I am confused as to why.. the food was OK. The service was extremely slow, my drink refills took forever, and the food took a long time to come out, which was surprising, given it was very slow.I ordered the biscuits and gravy, and my son ordered a chicken sandwich. They call themselves a from scratch kitchen, don't own a freezer. But their chips come from a bag and aren't fried in-house. The special of the day was biscuits and gravy, and you got like 1.5 biscuits that were the same consistency of a hockey puck and about as flavorful. The gravy had the consistency of dried out mashed potatoes and the hadhbrowns game out cold and lacked any seasoning. They charged almost 20$ for them and was just simply not worth it. Overall, for being on DDD, I left very disappointed.

Well what can I say.. this was a massive disappointment. I have heard for years how amazing the breakfasts are and all the hoopla about having to wait to get into the original location for hour long waits, I've seen the Triple D episodes and truly have wanted to try for a long time just kinda never happened. Well today was the day we went to the Glendale location mainly out of convenience. The restaurant looked closed upon pulling up and after entering only 1 other table in the place. We were greeted immediately and told to choose a spot. My wife and I got the hog and chick or chick and hog(whatever..) my egged were ordered over easy hers scrambled. My eggs even for over were way under cooked in the whites as you can see the clear fluid throughout the eggs in the pic. The bacon left a weird taste and coating in my mouth and honestly just not that great limp thick cut peppered bacon is never good. Both of our hashbrowns had obviously been sitting in the griddle since open as they consumed a large amount of grease and purely just poorly done. Pancakes were odd..slightly over done with a very weird texture (the syrup was great) my wife's sausage was very good. As you can see in one of the pics is all my food ready to be thrown out and barely eaten. Now a quick pointer if you ever and I mean ever see a guest meals like this the question should never be "may I get you a box" the question is a drill down question " was there something wrong with your meal?" All in all Matt if you're still even involved in your locations you might want to dive in a bit deeper because there is absolutely nothing that we experienced that would live up to your hype.

This is actually a 3.8 rating. I loved my avocado toast, but my husband was disappointed with his tasteless boiled potatoes and his almost $6 glass of OJ. If you're a breakfast potato lover, I would not recommend potatoes here, I tried his - I agree... blah. However, we were seated promptly, orders were taken quickly and multiple people checked in on us. Their bacon was meaty, again - I loved the avocado toast and ordered egg whites ($2 each). They cooked my husbands egg perfectly. I enjoyed their salsa - it was delicious. I would go back and not order the country potatoes, but I would try their hash browns - I wouldn't pay almost $6 for OJ either. Granted it was 12 oz, but I would think a lower price and 8 oz would be a better breakfast option in this economy.

Exceeds expectations. The honey lemonade is outstanding. We enjoyed a Reuben, Chicken Sandwich and a Club Sandwich. Quality ingredients. Delicious bread. Rippled ridges on the Kettle Chips. Bonus gigantic homemade dill pickle spears. Friendly fast service. Nice contemporary music that allows a conversation. Quiet atmosphere that you can conduct business and hold conversations. We look forward to our next visit.
