If you're looking for Indian in the north end of seattle, it's a great spot to pop into or to order for delivery! A few notes: -we've found portion sizes to be perfect. We usually end up with leftovers, which are always the best! -there's usually a ton of rice (yum!)-we've found the spice level to be more mild than some other spots so order accordingly! -great as a delivery option as well!

I have to admit it. Stepping into Masala, I was skeptical. The place was somewhat empty and the menu was very overwhelming with an insane amount of dishes. Pair that with an empty buffet counter (which I typically shy away from) I was already preparing for the worst. But I was proven wrong. Very wrong. And I'm not even mad about it. The food was really really good. My wife and I ordered:Goat curryGarlic naanDal TadkaMango Lassi (a drink)Just a heads up: I'm going to be focusing on the goat curry and not the Dal Tadka that my wife had, because I didn't even pay attention or try it. Because the goat curry was just that good. First off, the portions were really generous. 1 order of garlic naan was massive and surpassed our expectations. The garlic wasn't too overwhelming, and it served as the perfect pairing to our curries. Goat curry, where do I even begin? The curry was just delicious. The goat was incredibly, incredibly tender. Like, the meat was just cooked beautifully and I barely had to chew before the meat just dissolved in my mouth. And the flavors were extraordinary. I ordered a 2 on the spice scale (with 5 being spicy), and it was a perfect kick of heat. I didn't even talk to my wife at all during the meal, as it was just that good. Masala, I'm sorry. I'm sorry to have judged your food based on appearance, which is a lesson we typically learn in grade school. I can't wait to try the other foods here, as the food was delicious. I'm glad to say that we've found out local Indian to-go place in Greenwood. I can't wait to try the lamb next time!

This is the Uber eats restaurant name for the Mirch Masala restaurant in Northgate! The food is delicious and generous in portions! Highly recommend ordering takeout or delivery - you will not be disappointed!

The food was overall okay, but the prices are steep. Medium hot was mild. If you get butter chicken in mild it will be like a tomato sauce/soup. The chicken korma and garlic basil naan are good. :) With the price point I felt that the portion sizes were small. There was enough to be full but I like having leftovers.

We got takeout from here and the order was made very quickly. We got the saag paneer, garlic naan, b samosas, and a cream marinated tandoori chicken. It was a lot of food! We are it over 3 meals. Very tasty and good spice level. The samosas were super yummy and I loved the sauces! Would try again and get some of their other dishes.

I've been ordering from this place for years and it never disappoints. Recently I noticed that they start cutting up the chicken into smaller pieces, which makes it softer to chew. Thank you to whoever changed that.Oh and for reference, medium is the perfect spice level if you like just a tiny amount of spicy. Mild is kid-safe. Scale accordingly.

Most Indian places around town took the opportunity of the pandemic to axe their lunch buffets, but thankfully not this place. This is one of the last places in town to get daily lunch buffet and thankfully the food is very good on top of that. The price is rather inflated since it was last offered before the pandemic, but for the quality and quantity of what you're getting in this economy it's a reasonable ask. I personally have not had an issue with the service in my visits, but I did notice the waiters act aggressively towards other guests on different occasions and that does create an uncomfortable environment.

Prices are comparable with everywhere else in town. We paid 13 for a mixed appetizer and 21 for a single chicken entree which was not large, but one gets used to it. We also ordered fries, garlic naan, chai, and a glass of Pinot noir, which was 78 and change after tax but before tip. It's so expensive to be alive. The mixed appetizer was cod, veggie, and chicken pakora plus a samosa according to the menu, but we only got fish and chicken. I really would have liked to try the veggie. The fries were hot and spiced really well. The samosa was also really hot, crisp, and delicious. Even the little kiddo liked the fish pakora. They also brought out ketchup and a duo of sauces I've seen frequently at Indian places--the brown sweet sauce and the green minty one. It was nice to have these with the fries, even though I think they're for naan. Garlic naan was clearly brushed with margarine and garlic, which sucks at the price point ($6?). The electric yellow really gave it an interesting look, but it tasted ok. Our chicken Tikka masala was delicious and there was plenty of spiced basmati rice. The take out containers are really flimsy AND Styrofoam, which is a double whammy of suckage. They have a full bar despite the menu not saying so, and the decor is clean and interesting. Waitstaff was very helpful and kind. It looks like most people get takeout here, because we were the sole dining inhabitants despite it being 5 pm.

For context: I came into the buffet at 11:30am on a Saturday. 1.) the butter chicken was bland, and even worse extremely watery. there is supposed to be a creamy texture in butter chicken, did the kitchen run out of cream?????2.) the vegetable pankora was super salty, besides the huge amount of salt, it was bland as well. the chicken legs were bland as well. 3.) the service was not good. I had to get up from my table and ask for my water to be filled, I already had my food and my cup hadn't been filled yet. When i walked in, I wasn't greeted at all, the service staff just looked at me as if I was an alien. The attitude of the service staff, yes all of them, was very cold and unwelcoming. After I paid I told one of them to have a nice day and he just looked me dead in the face and said nothing, not even a smile. I know he understood what I said because prior I asked him for a spice rack or chili's to give the food some spice and much needed flavor, and he responded that as an INDIAN RESTAURANT they don't have spice trays/racks. Wow, none at all. well that explains the BLAND food. THE WORST INDIAN FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD AND THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. it honestly bordered on degrading in regard to my dining experience.
