Weekday lunch buffet reviewThe food - Mostly decent Indian food. The butter chicken was a little too sweet but still delicious. Chicken tandoori was flavorful and succulent, biryani was tamil style (not with basmati) and it was good as well. Pleasant surprise to see a good size mysore dosa (plain dosa with chutney smeared on the inside - no potato bhaji)The chilli bhajiya and the payasam were also good.Really reasonably priced in my opinion to eat a ton of food for lunch. The issue - As others have complained popular stuff gets over quickly and they need to really up their game with replenishing the stuff that gets over. They dont have a huge spread (expected for a weekday lunch buffet) so they need to keep track and make sure people dont have to wait a while during the lunch hour. While i was lucky that when i walked in (Tuesday 12:15pm ) everything was available but 10 mins later when i went to get a naan almost all the meat was over and it wasn't replenished during the time I was there. If I had walked in 15 mins later this review would've been much different. This is easy to fix stuff since the food is decent and hope that they take these reviews seriously since I myself was deterred a bit reading about the replenishment issue but decided to give them a chance.

We came here at 2pm on a Friday. We were the only one's in the whole place, the entire time we were here. It was strange as the place was so large. There appears to be a back patio with a stage as well. There was an employee sleeping in the booth when we got there. We did the buffet. The price wasn't on their online menu. The price outside was incorrect. I believe it said $10.99 and it was $11.99. They said they wouldn't refill it after 3pm. Several of the items were low quantity, especially the salad area. The quality was very good. The butter chicken and tiki masala was great! The naan and Malaysian curry was okay. One of the items had smaller bones which you can't see due to the thick sauce but others were boneless. I would come again due to price and the butter chicken and tiki masala.

For the price and the convenience it doesn't get better than that. Not knowing what to eat, not knowing where to go, not wanting to wait in line, not wanting to wait to eat in general, well this is it. I love buffets and this place is good. I have yet to find fault.Their tables are always clean, they have never really been busy to the point you can't just eat and go.What can be better than that?

Masala House has opened in an internal corner suite of the Miracrest Plaza on Miramar Rd. There are plenty of nearby Indian cuisine restaurants, however the selling point of this place is an AYCE buffet. The advertisement posted on a grand opening flyer stated the cost was $10.99 for lunch and dinner every day with access to 15+ items. During my weekday visit, the price had already been adjusted to $11.99 which I did not find out until closing my tab. There were plans to add more items on weekends with a corresponding price hike to $14.99.A la carte menu sheets were placed at each of the roughly twenty tables in the dining area. Most customers like myself opted for the buffet. The organization of the items was strange with a dispenser of pineapple lemon juice located next to a salad which was next to a container of naan. Then further to the left at a different station was white rice with veggie fried rice at another station. The latter rice was empty for most of the time I was there.I would say over half of the offerings were vegetarian friendly. The ones that contained chicken were popular, but they also ran out quickly which kept the kitchen busy with refilling them. The Chicken Butter Masala was one of the better items. The sauce was mildly spicy while the meat was cooked appropriately. Otherwise, the quality of the food was average so you get what you paid for. Masala House will have to improve its operation and ensure that warming trays do not sit empty, or else customers will opt for pricier alternatives that don't have this issue.

Update: Everyday Lunch and Dinner Buffet increased from $10.99 to $11.99.This restaurant seems to be in a soft-opening phase, since part of the restaurant is still under construction (looks like they're putting in some cozy booths) and there were definitely a lot of kinks we encountered while having lunch here on a Thursday afternoon. We arrived about 1:30pm on Thursday, and although there was no wait for a table, the service was a little backed up. The owner invited us to have a seat and get started as he ran to try and clean up or bring more food. When we went to the buffet to get food, but there was nothing available. Chai dispenser was empty. We also noticed there were many other groups of diners there, all sitting around waiting for more food to be brought out. There were no clean plates to use (only small bowls), and no forks either (just spoons). Waiting for forks, plates, and food took at least 20 minutes. When they brought out more chicken or paneer, it was gone really fast since it was only about 10-15 pcs at a time. The pace of the food made my appetite disappear fast. The plain naan was nice and crispy when brought out fresh and available more frequently than the other dishes. My favorite item was the butter chicken curry. The paneer butter curry was also good. Service: They were too busy to clean the tables until diners left, so each table needed to stack up their own plates to have enough dining space.Parking: The parking lot is extremely tight. We parked on the street nearby.

Very tasty food ! We came here once on the weekday and once on the weekend with my 3 yr old. The weekday buffet is very decent. On Sunday they have tons of options and all of them are very tasty ! This place is also very family friendly, definitely coming back again and it will be a solid Sunday lunch option for our family !

I came here when it was still Virsa Indian Cuisine and remember they had all the buffet trays filled even though we were the few customers inside during lunchtime, it may have been past 1PM at that point. Either way it was a great memory.Came here again today since they changed the restaurant to Masala House and was surprised to see the buffet to be at $10.99 what a steal!! Even if it was just vegetarian buffet for that price, I'd be okay with it.Well HUGE disappointment. Came here on at Thursday at 12pm, peak lunch time. There were only a few trays of "food" and they were mostly empty trays with just sauce. There were definitely more carbs than vegetable or protein. The trays that "had" butter chicken and tandoori was never filled despite waiting 50 mins when I first arrived. There was a stream of customers and big groups too but there were literally nothing in the trays but sauce. I asked them when I first arrived if they were going to refill anything and they said yes very soon. Well I waited 50 mins and they were never filled. I felt like I literally ate just sauce, morsel/leftover small pieces of chicken, naan and rice. They filled the naan a few times but each time it was gone as soon as it came out.As soon as the fried rice comes out, the waiter goes around to several tables to personally scoop rice on their plates while we are standing there at the buffet station waiting for it since there was literally nothing else to get. Even when they refilled the butter chicken station it was mainly sauce and tiny pieces of chicken that I gave up finding. They kept refilling the plain and fried rice, fried potato and naan (which was small and gone quickly). I saw several customers leave after seeing the empty stations. I hate to give 1 star and rarely do but this is just a huge disappointment. What I thought would be a quick and delicious lunch turned out to be a waste of time, calories and money. I'm pretty sure they will not last in this buisness. I will not come back.

We came right when they opened for Saturday lunch and had a great meal! There's only one row of food items which I thought was plenty and everything tasted fine. Service during our meal was friendly and the price was reasonable for a buffet. I'd probably come back again next time whenever I'm in the mood for Indian food.

The selection at the noon buffet was extremely limited and very disappointing. The meat dishes were even more limited. There was only Butter Chicken with hardly any meat in it and mostly sauce. When we asked for it to be replenished, they brought out very small pieces of chicken and not much of it. The sauces were thin and there was little in them. The naan was cold and burnt. The was none of the curry or tamarind sauces I had expected like at other restaurants. The decor was dismal and lacking any ambience. I was disappointed enough to never come back.
