4.5This place is giving cute shop, but I'm curious what the giant monstrosity that's connected to it behind is for because it's also the same nameCame around 2PM right after the deli had closed and just browsed all the sushi and sashimi offerings. If you're eating in your car, make sure to ask the cashier for chopsticks.Got salmon sashimi, a vegetarian mushroomTamago and inari, a spicy tuna sushi, and a fried ebi one. All in all the damage was $28 dollars. Split it with a buddy so $14 for this meal. Pretty decent I think. The salmon was fresh and all the sushi rice in the rolls was delicious. If this place wasn't so far from where I live, I'd come more often because I feel like they give good amount t of rice to fish ratio

Ok so I only seem to make it at the end of day so supplies are low but the remainder is 50% off so I can't complain. The food is fresh & has a rate of turnover as people load up for the week at these prices. Come early & there is a wide selection at an excellent price.

Stopped by this place for lunch, glad I did. Food was pretty good, price was good for the amount of food I received. Staff was very helpful, also at a convenient location. Will eat there again.

OMG I cannot believe I have lived in Seattle for 30 years and have never been here. Really good deli selections!! Fresh sashimi, bentos, hot foods, and some rare items that I haven't seen in other places. I love that sushi, sashimi and bento are all super reasonably priced and tasted so good. I will definitely be back to try more sushi!

I used to come here all the time 10+ years ago and actually forgot this place existed after moving away. I came here recently because of a social media post highlighting how affordable and delicious the food offerings were so of course, I had to run it back.I went here about 30 mins after opening on a weekday and the store was surprisingly packed! It's a cute little mom and pop shop that has a grocery side and a prepared food side. They have a parking lot that is easy to get in and out of which makes coming here very convenient.I ended up picking up nigiri, salmon sashimi, california rolls and a karaage donburi bowl and it all ended up costing $27 which is honestly a great deal. This was more than enough to feed my partner and I and we were stuffed after devouring everything. The quality is really good for the price and dare I say even better than some sushi restaurants in Seattle. The highlight for us was the salmon sashimi and the california roll. The texture of the rice in the roll was perfect and the taste was not too sweet or sour. The sashimi had a delicate and buttery flavor.Would definitely come here again when I'm in the area!

Love this gem! Fresh Japanese sushi, sashimi and even hot dishes in the back are available for amazing taste at a reasonable prices. Friendly staffs and it's like a convenient store vibe. You can also find Japanese frozen items, snacks like a grocery store. Ample parking in the front. If you go early there are plenty of options and if you go towards late afternoon packaged food items are half off. Hope you get to visit and experience Japanese sushi and sashimi bento- perfect for a picnic in PNW. Bon appetite!

I have heard stellar raves about Maruta Shoten for years, if not decades. With a cooler bag ready, we finally made it out there to get extras and to have a car/parking lot quick bite. Regarding the sushi: On the one hand, I can see the 5-Stars perspective - reasonably priced, lots of typical options. On the other hand, it is a "stomach filler" quality, i.e. lots of rice. For the price, it is great to "filler-up". For me, long ago, I have "stopped going for the bulk." We found the non-sushi dishes to have a more balanced bite. We also enjoyed wandering the store, shopping for snacks and non-food items. The interior is basic, like a very scaled down and original Uwajimaya. It is not a tourist attraction (thank goodness). It is just for us locals. The service is grocery-store, scan and go. Easy-peasy.

Maruta makes some delicious hot and cold foods! This is a relatively small, but busy grocery store with some frozen/fridge items and shelf items. I usually frequent the bento, sushi, and hot food area. Highly recommend coming to pick up a bento and a sushi roll! Prices are super reasonable and the staff is always so nice. I tried the following for the first time:Oyakodon: they give a solid amount of white rice, eggs were fluffy, chicken was tenderEgg foo young: this was also served with rice and a small container of gravy, pretty delicious and would have loved to go home and air fry this baby!

This little market is a gem and so nostalgic of the markets I grew up with. There is a huge selection of Japanese goods and priced really well. If you go to the right of the market, you'll see all the fresh food many sushi options to choose from. The service was also fantastic. They were very friendly ask if I need a chopsticks and my entire meal plus groceries came out to under $30.

Unassuming but amazing spot to pick up Japanese deli items. I live pretty far from Georgetown, but pro-tip if you are nearby from Costco - I would highly recommend checking out this place. First, the sashimi, sushi, and bento items are already super reasonably priced. But second, if you come towards the end of the day (I did Monday close to 5 PM) they discount it (mine was 50% off). That is just an absolute steal for Seattle prices. The food itself is high quality for the price. The bento items lean a little sweet, but it satisfies that craving for a very quick grab and go meal. There's a parking lot with a decent number of spaces (~ 10? maybe more?).They have a pretty extensive rice cracker selection, if that's your thing. And some yummy looking refrigerated mochi, pan, and other pre-packaged snack and dessert items. And a couple of your standard Asian staples, like tofu, dried ingredients, etc that you'd expect from a small Japanese grocer. I didn't have time to do a thorough browse of the store, but I'll definitely be back.
