Missing the toast that is supposed to come with the corn beef hash. The waffles are cold and extremely soft. Kind of like cold eggos.

Missing the toast that is supposed to come with the corn beef hash. Seems like it had been sitting out a while. Stale not fresh.

Exactly what a breakfast place should be, IMHO. Though I moved away from the Boston area some time ago, I always try to go to Martin's when I'm back for work.

A very solid diner experience. Menu was expensive with options for everyone. The space has a few tables in back in addition to several barstools at the counter. The chicken ranch sandwich was delicious and would recommend. Also tried a few bites of my sisters burger and it was very good.

Great neighborhood gem, exactly what we were looking for. Large breakfast portions with that old school ambiance. This is how I want my diners always! The service was quick and friendly.

3.5/5Been 5-6 times and always leave feeling like it's a "get the job done" kinda affordable, well-portioned brunch at a busy establishment. greasy, no frills food with plenty of sweet and savory options. water tastes a bit like burnt coffee, but the service is otherwise excellent!

I'm a huge Eggs Benedict fan and I've had some good ones but none I've had even comes close to Martin's on Harvard Street, Brookline. However, no matter what you order it's the same. In my humble opinion, the best breakfast place in the area, maybe the state... maybe the country!

Great tiny coffee shop. Breakfast portions are huge!! Prices are on par for area. Walking distance from hotel (Hilton). Loved the retro feel of the counter stools in front of the grill. All staff were very friendly and attentive

The food here is just mid, I wasn't impressed with anything on my plate if I'm going to be honest. The homefries were horrible, they were soft and didn't have any crisp to them whatsoever. Why was the butter that came with the toast cold? It's supposed to be at room temperature so that it spreads easily. I went to grab the salt shaker on the table and it was stuck to the table as if someone spilled syrup there, I question the cleanliness of the staff. I will not be returning here...Oh BTW, they have paper straws LOL I can't!

I have been to Martin's in the past and the food is just OK. Typical low-end diner. However, I thought I would try them again for old time's sake and I was reminded why I stopped going some years ago. First, there is a very uncomfortable, crowded bar. If you are by yourself, they always try to push you to it. However, in this case there were several small tables available and I asked or one. The host said they needed to ask for "permission" to seat me there. If you want to insist that customers sit at your bar, invest in one that is not so uncomfortable and crowded. Also, invest in some ventilation so that you don't smell like grease when you leave. I went to Eagle's Deli and had the experience I should have had at Martin's. Maybe next time I will remember why I haven't been in so long and won't make the same mistake again.

Completely underwhelming. After waiting for a seat for close to 40 mins, I was looking forward to trying this "neighborhood favorite." I ordered the Mediterranean breakfast. What i got was: greasy eggs (redeeming quality: they were over easy as requested) greasy mushy tasteless potatoes (no redeeming qualities, not even crispy edges), the thinnest slices of eggplant that were (sadly) breaded and fried in what must be stale oil given the taste, steak tips (chewy), and the best part -- and only fresh ingredient! -- feta cheese.Orange juice (they claim is fresh...but tasted exactly like bottled - you can kind of tell from the color; you'll have to trust me on the taste) was a whopping $6. You can literally buy a whole half gallon of OJ at the grocery store for less than that. Other reviews said it was reasonable for the price - this entrée was $19. Trendy brunch places charge the same and serve fresh, higher quality food & more creative dishes. This may have been a large quantity, but the quality was severely lacking. I feel duped.
