Chef Amal is the sweetest, and her food is incredible. I usually stop by the Piedmont Green Market to get a breakfast pita wrap from her on the way to tennis (tip: add the harissa!), but am always happy to find new locations where Marrakech is popping up. The food is so flavorful -- I love the Tanjiya (a savory, garlicky-cumin-lemon chicken dish), and the baba ghanoush is also incredible. Thank you for introducing me to a new cuisine + doing it with such kindness!

Chef Amal knows what she's DOING. Sadly she is only at the EAV food hall on Friday during lunch currently, but I am so glad we stopped in randomly for lunch on a Friday. We had no particular plans for what food to get, and after she offered a sample of her eggplant, we knew we needed more! We had an veggie plate and a chicken plate. Each comes with the main stewed item, some rice, green beans, hummus and pita, and some of her homemade hot sauce. Do not forego the hot sauce, it is the perfect amount of spicy and so full of flavor! If you're not a spice lord though no worries, her food is incredible with or without the hot sauce. The chicken was so tender, it was falling apart under my fork, and I felt so nourished. The green beans are amazing and so is the eggplant. If I wasn't typically working on Fridays I'd be here every week and I can tell she has quite a few regulars.

WOW! I'm middle eastern and grew up eating Mediterranean food daily and this place WOW'd me. The chicken shawarma has so much flavor and is so tender it melts in your mouth. My husband got the lamb shank and said it was a must and it just falls off the bone it's so tender. They come with rice, a small salad, pita and hummus. Everything was so good. Be careful with that spicy red sauce is it SPICY! I couldn't handle it, but my husband enjoyed it. Overall will definitely come back. Parking is paid structure parking

This is by far and above some of the most delicious food in the world! My wife and I have been going to them in East Atlanta at the Sunday Farmer's Market for quite some time and now that they have a physical permanent location inside of Colony Square at Politan Row you have to go!! The Lamb Shank is mouthwatering, the prices are so amazing for the quality and portion you get and the owners are extremely nice!!

Food here was super delicious, and the portion was huge; Marrakech was really worth what we paid for. In addition, the wait was pretty short despite the line ahead of me being long. My friend and I got the Chicken Shawarma bowl and finished it right up. Adding the optional spicy sauce gives the bowl a nice kick if you're looking for some heat as well!

I came with my friends for lunch on a Saturday; there's street parking if you can secure a spot but we just parked on a side street and walked over. The area is pretty neat and fairly pedestrian friendly!Marrakech Express is located in We Suki Suki, a small global food court type setup. There's also a bao/bowl stand, a poke burrito stand, ramen, an Afro-Latin joint, etc., plus some picnic tables to eat at. The space itself is pretty tight, but it's a cool, casual hole in the wall spot in East Atlanta.I got the Chicken Tanjiya entree, which is rice, chicken tanjiya, a small side salad, and hummus+pita - all for $8!! Amal, the owner and woman serving, was extremely friendly. It was a bit of wait as she was the only one working the stand, but it was nothing unbearable. The food more than made up for it - it's a huge portion for $8, and it is so delicious. They were generous with the amount of chicken, which is tender and in a flavorful sauce on a decent helping of rice. She also added some hot sauce on request - I think next time I would get a bit more, I wouldn't have minded a bit more heat. The side salad is mainly just some lettuce but it was a nice way to clear the pallet between bites of the chicken. The pita and hummus were a good addition as well; the hummus was pretty good (clearly homemade) and the pita comes warmed up. All in all, Marrakech Express is great bang for the buck! I would definitely come back and try some other entrees, and it's nice that I don't have to break bank doing so.

I was very disappointed...... that I never tried chef Amal's food before in my 6+ years of living in Atlanta. I would have posted pictures of the food but my friend and I literally cleared everything on our plates because the food was so good. Definitely try everything on the menu but my personal favorites were the Chicken & Lamb Tangia, the eggplant dish & side (forgot the name :o), the chicken shawarma wrap, and their hummus. So basically try everything on their menu as you will not be disappointed. Their portions are very hearty as well!! Rarely do I post reviews for food but I would be doing Atlantans a disservice by not raving about Marrakech Express. There is a dearth of food spots like this around here and I will 100% be back to try everything on the menu, again.I posted this on Google, but I am obligated to share my review of Marrakech Express on Yelp as well!

this is not your typical Moroccan restaurant with real Moroccan food. Don't get me wrong, it's delcicoud but deinfitely not moroccan. Moroccan food is not middle eastern, Persian, Greek or Israeli. It's totally different. It's not MIDDLE EASTERN food !!! It's not African food with Beber tradition of olive oil, tanginess, and absolutely nothing Persian about it.Again, good restaurant but it is not Moroccan food. I am Moroccan and I can tell you it is not.

Got it at the Georgia Tech pop up stand. Everything about the food is amazing (from the tenderness of the chicken to the salad), the quantity is great, staff is super friendly, and pricing is very reasonable. Highly recommend
