Marlene's Market & Deli

It's just gone down-hill post Covid. It doesn't have the same vibe. There aren't as many people. You don't get to connect with the staff in the same way because everything is pre-packaged. They tend to run out of items in the grocery part but typically restock in a timely manner....I think it's time they open everything back up to how it used to be. Everything runs extremely slow in the deli these days. 5-10 minute way for food. 10-20 minute wait for fresh juice or smoothie. It kind of makes you not want to go there anymore.

A smaller grocery store, but plenty of options for everything I needed. Fantastic quality and selection. Very friendly service.

Marlene's is my go to for a sweet treat. I'm allergic to dairy so I can't just go to any store and pick up something. Everything contains dairy. When I go to Marlene's it's so stress free. They write if something is vegan, gluten free, or dairy free on their food items. The employees are always so nice when we come in too. This is only my second time at the location, but it's so much bigger! Whenever I'm in this area I try to stop by.

Hands down the best place to get Key Lime pie! Produce is priced at what you'd expect for a health food store. They have a large selection of bulk bin, pay by the pound ingredients (seasoning, nuts, grains, dried fruit, etc). 4 isles of vitamins, fresh local eggs, and Kombucha or sourdough starters. The glass jars of locally made yogurt is my favorite item in the dairy section. The upstairs is sectioned with one side dedicated to toiletries and the other is a large cafe that serves fresh food, espresso drinks, and hand pressed juices.

My favorite place, no matter how bad I feel, anxiety, headache or the blahs I walk into Marlene's and the ambiance, the aroma, the people make everything better. I take a deep breath and calm settles in. I always find something tasty or gift worthy.

Over priced products. Staff are rude and pretentious. The workers there have absolutely no people skills. They carry horrible attitudes. Bad atmosphere overall.

Hands down the best Tres leche, moist flavorful and all by scratch!! From strawberry to raspberry to pumpkin (my fave) Nicole in the bakery has some delightful fully delicious baked goods! Also a big hit for me is the bread pudding and chocolate cake You can enjoy the cakes by the slice or order ahead a sheet cake. Give them a try, you won't regret it!

I go here for about every other month special holistic needs that I can't find at regular grocery stores. I've always been treated well. Everyone greets and assist you when you're looking for anything in particular. They've got Bach flower remedies, a good amount of supplements, loose leaf teas. Organic groceries, vast vegan varieties. And so much more! I love their essential oil perfumes, and beauty products! I've not had the chance to enjoy their deli or salad bar. It looks tasty. Perhaps one day I will. Good vibes, very chill. I could spend hours there but I've always been short on time and overbooked to stay.

I was traveling for a kid's swim meet, staying at the Hampton Inn across the street. Discovered Marlene's as I wanted to load up on healthy food vs. eating at restaurants for three straight days. Marlene's was a god-send. They have a great selection of produce and all the other stuff that you want when you only have a mini-fridge (yogurt; protein drinks; small peanut butter; bulk items). They also have a fantastic deli and coffee bar upstairs where you can meet with people, read, or get some work done.Marlene's honestly made the Hampton Inn (and would be the same for the Courtyard Marriott) perfect for anyone staying in Federal Way perfect.

My favorite place to go for a healthy lunch! I love the smoothies that you can customize. Sandwiches and salad bar are outstanding also. Highly recommended and I return regularly. Have never been disappointed!
