Mariscos La Costa

I have been looking for a marisco restaurant and this did not disappoint. The food is so flavorful that it reminded me of my vacations growing up in Mexico going to the beach and eating fresh seafood.I came to La Costa as a girls night as one of my friends that I was with would come here often. She knew exactly what to order and the quantity given per plate was a perfect size. This is a location where I see myself coming back often to be able to try the other items on the menu. To top it off, having live music with your meal is the cherry on top. Do note, that if you do sit close to the musicians, it will make it a little hard to talk with your group but either way it was a nice touch to go with the meal.

Hands down my favorite mariscos place in the city. The vibe is so much fun, especially when the live mariachi band is performing. No matter what you order here, you will be getting a HUGE portion packed with tons of flavor. I got the Pina Rellena. The dish is a blend of seafood in sauce served in a whole pineapple. It comes with a side of rice, fries, and salad to top it all off. If you're looking for an extra good time, you can get large fruity margarita! Service is also incredibly attentive. La Costa is a hidden gem for sure!

This is hands down my favorite marisco restaurant in the north side. Anytime I am in the area I have to stop by.It had been a couple years since my last visit and still iut is just as authentic and flavorful as I remember.I came at noon and that was the first time I didn't have to wait to be seated. I'll tell you the wait is worth it. I tried the mojara de ajo and asked for Nayarit sauce on the side. The sauce wasn't so spicy but it was delicious to dip in. The ceviche was yummy and fresh. The langostinos are amazing, the sauce is to die for. I kept dipping my fries in it. They also sell liquor.On the weekends they have live music. It's a great place for seafood ! Must try!!

Okay y'all mira!!!!! Dinner here had all the vibes! The space is BIG, there's a LIVE BAND and they even have an outdoor patio in the back, but this food!!!Eats: Empanadas de Camarón/Shrimp empanadas Piña Rellena - shrimp, crab, scallops, chopped clam and octopus cooked in a sauce with bell peppers, cheese, pineapple and mushrooms! La Costa grilled steak Coronarita The shrimp empanadas were SO GOOD! The empanada dough was flakey and perfectly fried! And that cheese - YUMMY!The piña rellena was just WOW! I'm not sure how one person is supposed to get through it all because it definitely looks like it's meant for a whole table to share! It is EXTREMELY FILLING and comes with a side of rice, bread, fries and salad. You already can see the drinks were on point as well as the live band! If you're not a fan of loud noise, you may want to avoid coming here when the band is scheduled to perform. Take your appetite and tell 'em that Planes and Plates sent you! Enjoy!

What can I say other than get ready to party! This is a fun, lively and serve very tasty dishes. It's a culinary party for both all of your senses!Let's take this journey together.We come here to celebrate, birthdays and special locations, and it never disappoints. Last visit was for mom's birthday as this is her favorite place. It was eight of us, and since this place does not take reservations, there was a bit of a wait. About 30 minutes. That is the only thing that I do not like about this place, they do not take reservations. Everything else is great.We ordered a ton of different items from the menu, and several birthday margaritas were slid around the table.Ceviche MixtoMolcajete Mar y TierraCarne TampiquenaMar y Tierra Mi CompadreLevanta MuertosCamaronesChapuzón Just to name a few. They were fantastic! The cuts of meat were pleasant and high quality. The seafood was good size and flavorful. Drinks were flowing like the ocean these ingredients came from. The weekend mariachi came over and serenade mom with her favorite Mexican mariachi songs and a traditional birthday song. What a great time was had by all!

Every year I try to find a different location to celebrate my mom's birthday along with my brother and dad. I decided to check this place out; it was a very good choice. The food was really good, the atmosphere was nice, a little loud but that's expected (my brother and I were the loud ones), and the service was awesome,as well. If you love seafood this is a good place you should mark for places to visit. If you're like me and I'm not big on seafood, they have great steaks.

Portions are so big! My go-to place for seafood, everything is always fresh. Their garlic bread and rice sides are always so yummy as well. Service is always very friendly as well.

Extremely disappointed per my last visit here. I decided to give this establishment a second opportunity and boy was that a huge mistake!!Besides the terrible long wait, overpriced food, and unfriendliness of the workers, the food made us all sick. If you want to spend $150 to get sick, this is your perfect place.

This was our first time at Mariscos La Costa and we will definitely be back! The food is delicious and the drinks did not disappoint. It was abusy Saturday night but the service wasgreat!

100% recommend this place!! Great food & great drinks. The portions are massive and that is my kind of restaurant! The price is definitely worth the amount of food you get so be ready to spend $30-$50 (no tip) per person and taking food home with you! We (a group of 3) got a large plate (in the picture) and we felt like we each ate for 2 people. Afterwards, we all had boxes to go home! So beautiful. Flavorful. They give you tostadas & crackers with a dip as appetizers. Even that was awesome! This place makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Also, drinks are huge too! Good as well. Only thing that was "ehh" was the mariachi band that was playing was SO loud I couldn't talk to my table most of the time. Unless I wanted to lose my voice yelling or had to wait in between songs. They played good music though! Passionate. Personal Review: 9.1/10
