Make sure you either pay with cash or ask for the credit card receipt. The guy taking your order will overcharge you on your credit card. Being a frequent customer, I told the guy I do not need a receipt since I trusted him. What should have been $12.98 (including my 15% tip for take out) turned out $18.48 on my credit card statement. This over charging happened 3 times and I just stopped going back. I tip 15% for a take out order and they're still going to over charge me? I will never go back to this place again ... try Carnecia Mexico next door, their prices are listed AND they give you a receipt every time.

Mariscos El Tambor is Phx best kept secret. My husband and I visited it this past weekend and we had a ball. We went out for date night for dinner, drinks and to cut a little rug. The food was delicious the drinks were cold and the sound system was phenomenal. We sang karaoke and danced all night long until my feet hurt. It's a large space and it's cool. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. It's a mix crowd so everyone felt comfortable. We will for sure be visiting again. Thank you El Tambor for your hospitality!!!

I was looking for tacos all over broadway and everything is closed due to New Years. Saw this spot on the side of the road. They are outside of the mariscos el tambor. I don't know if they are together with them or separate. I didn't ask. We got 6 tacos al pastor with everything. Tacos had good flavor, fresh. I wish they were off a trompo but unfortunately they weren't. Still very good meat. Ordered 2 burritos to go one asada one pastor. MAN they were HUGE burritos. Salsas were very good and the guacamole was actual guacamole not green salsa guac. Payed 2 dollars a taco 10 dollars a burrito and 3 for a large horchata. Tacos are a bit over priced in my opinion. Normally they run about 1.50 to 1.75 a taco but what are you gonna do right. Still very good. The burritos are definitely worth the 10 bucks. They are packed packed with meat some rice and beans cilantro and onions. I wish they had cebollitas ( grilled onions/ scallions) and Chile's toreados. I will be returning. They also sell tripa, barbacoa and birria. They open 7 days a week till midnight Monday-Friday and Saturday - Sunday till 2am

Ok, so total Gringo here. Stopped in my way home and decided to try it. $2 tacos. I got 5. 2 Carne, 2 barbacoa, 1 lengua. I knew this place would either be trash or phenomenal. So good. The meat is tender and has tons of flavor. Salsas are so tasty with good heat.

This placed looked up until I found bugs in my al pastor tacos. The worst part is I took these home and had a 20 minute drive back home . Once I opened the box I had found three bugs before I even took a bite of my food just ruined my appetite.
