Mario's Taco Shop

I try to come to this place when I visit home and so far every time I've come back here, it's been really good. I've tried the campechana fries, the 5 piece deluxe rolled tacos, and the albondigas soup with rice. I liked all dishes and the portions were decent for the prices. Each of these dishes cost less than 10 dollars. The flavors are there if you're craving some decent Mexican food. Service is quick and efficient. Ambiance is casual and there's indoor seating available but not many tables. Plenty of free parking spaces are available too since this is located in a lot near the Food4Less supermarket surrounding other businesses.

I tried this place for the first time . I ordered a California burrito to go and it was super soggy from all the grease . I was very upset, however I was hungry and still attempted to eat it and it just fell apart, I had to throw it away . I went again but avoided getting a burrito and tried the adobada fries and were much better . I probably won't go from now on .

Used to love this place but now the cashiers always Have an attitude and are always on their phone and laughing. You ask for extra hot sauce and you need to wait till their ready to give it to you when the sauce is just next to them. The food ain't that good also like it used to be. It's served sloppy and very poor portions. I don't recommend this place anymore and not to mention highly priced for food that ain't worth it

I normally won't review a restaurant like this one. This restaurant serves Menudo to go at eight in the morning.The quality is superior for the price. You get better than home made quality with all the sides cheaper than canned or home made. They were very quiet but they were bright and beautiful to help. It was like stopping by a good neighbor's place after being invited to pick up a nice hot bowl of delicious menudo.I will try other dishes to let you know but this place is top of the mark for menudo!

Amazing little taqueria in the heart of Chula Vista. First, Mario's has the best chips you'll ever eat. Warm, fresh and crunchy; just made to perfection. I had the camaron and pescado soup. It was really good and its portion size quite generous. Besides the shrimp and fish it also has carrots, onions and celery. Great for a tasty yet healthy lunch.One thing to point out, if you ever order this dish make sure to order a side of rice to add to it; it will be the perfect addition.Overall a great lunch. This place is a little gem, it's one of my favorite spots in Chula Vista.

They are OPEN. Not closed like it says here on yelp. My now favorite Mexican joint in the south bay. Favorite breakfast burritos and great prices!

I love their breakfast burrito. The second taco shop I go to for a breakfast burrito. They put the perfect amount of bacon eggs cheese and potatoes in their burrito. They have a salsa bar too where u can get unlimited carrots! Woot woot!

Had a basic bean and cheese burrito for a overly priced $7. The flour tortilla was dry and falling apart. The beans had no flavor and the cheese seemed old. The green salsa also had no flavor and had the consistency of jello probably because it was also old. The corn tortilla for my shredded beef taco was stale and tasted like one of those mission tortillas. The beef was super dry.

worst break burritos cold cheese plus it tastes bland no flavor 11$ not worth it . i recommend getting little cesar

I ordered some cabeza tacos and an agua fresca. The agua fresca was okay, it was made from powder instead of the flower but good nevertheless. The tacos weren't that great. The meat didn't have any seasoning on it and they only give two extremely small containers of salsa. I received one red and one green and the red one by far had more flavor than the meat itself. The food was cooked thoroughly thoroughly at least.
