Marigold bagels are one of the only I can actually compare to New York bagels. Consistent, fresh, unique, fluffy, buttery, I could go on and on raving about these bagels. You can find them at some farmers markets or follow their instagram and catch one of the pick up/online ordering days. One of my favorites is the Za'atar bagel - added lebneh on it, and it was chefs kiss! They also have delicious cream cheese options. Try them out and thank me later.

For years I didn't eat bagels except when in NYC or NJ. Then I searched for best bagels in SD & started seeing these on instagram. They looked perfect ...those heat blisters on the shiny tops of the bagels drew me in. Those pictures did not lie, these are my favorite bagels in SD. Chewy crust, full of toppings (salt, poppyseed, jalapeño & cheddar, etc...) and fluffy inside. Tasty eaten fresh or take home, toast & spread with your favorites. Now I'm ordering 7 bagels at 7:01am on Wednesdays to pick up at 11am on Sunday. I eat way too many bagels and loving it. These are truly made with bagel passion & love. Thank you.

We went to the Mission Valley Farmer's Market to check out all the vendors, but most specifically Marigold Bagels. We arrived about 9:30 am. We had read other reviews that they sell out early. All the choices were still available, and we purchased 7 mixed kinds for $20. The 2 people working were nice and helpful. The bagels toast up beautifully and have a nice, chewy crust. The flavor is excellent and we look forward to trying all of our flavors!

New York bagels in San Diego. Thanks to a very dedicated transplanted New Yorker, we have a great source of delicious, authentic, NY bagels. Limited availability, but worth seeking out on line or at one or two farmer markets. Really delicious and very special.

I was so looking forward to trying these bagels for the first. Many people on line ahead of me purchasing a dozen or more so I was getting worried. The toppings were generous. The size great! Unfortunately the bagels are too hard and extremely chewy to eat. Very glutinous . No balance of chewy, fluffy or soft at all. Just dense tough chewy bagels. I don't see what all the praise is about. Did see the sign that said new flour so not sure if that is the reason. So sad....

Marigold now also goes to Little Italy WEDNESDAY Farmers Market (Wednesdays, 9:30 am - 1:30 pm) and sells about 150 bagels (vs 100 bagels before). But still, they tend to sell out very quickly. Again, I suggest you follow his Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/marigoldbagels/).

Wow. These bagels. I lived in New York City for many years, and although there are so many other wonderful breads and makers in San Diego there haven't been any good bagels. I live a little far from mission valley and couldn't risk driving to Civitas Park only to find out he's sold out (I hear he sells out within 90 minutes?!) so I was very excited when I found out about the new online order placing and pick up on Sundays. It could not have been easier. I picked my flavors, paid and on Sunday I rolled right up to the address and was hand-delivered my bagels. The bagels are exactly what I had been DREAMING of and hoping for... extremely high-quality. Very simple ingredients, water bath east coast style bagels... on the outside crispy & chewy...fluffy on the inside, very generous sprinkling of high-quality seasonings on the outside. I can't wait to do this every week!

I like Courage Bagels, which is LA/Montreal style, they have made me more picky about bagels in general. Now that I don't know up to LA as often I was looking for a good substitute. When I saw these were NY style, I was hesitant because I hadn't found good bagels in NY myself, but I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed by this selection. I walked up to a big line a little after 9. I decided to look at all the other vendors and grab some coffee that took awhile. By the time I came back, the sesame seed I wanted was sold out. I got onion and the chive and garlic cream cheese. I toasted them at home and devoured. Looking forward to going back and trying the other flavors!

Honestlly if YELP allowed 10 stars, it would get a 10. You must get there when it opens so you don't miss out.
