Hadn't been here in years, but will definitely be returning soon. The place has that nostalgic, old school, mom & pop Mexican restaurant vibe. Large menu with typical Mexican and combination plate options. All of our food was excellent, including the starter chips & salsa. Margaritas are large, not great, but not bad either. The staff was very friendly and efficient, and we had a very nice family evening out.

My friends and I met for lunch at Marieta's because it is near my friend's office, and she only had a little time for lunch. When I first arrived, I was confused, as the parking lot to the west, isn't really a parking lot and I couldn't figure out where to park. Later, I realized that the main parking lot is just to the east.I noticed that they do not appear to have any outdoor seating, however the restaurant is a good size with a main dining room and a bar area. It was moderately crowded during lunch. We sat in a booth in the bar area. The restaurant was cute on the inside. It had the vibe of a typical Americanized Mexican restaurant, and appears to have been around for a long time. Service was prompt and professional. I chose the house margarita which was pretty good. We were given the bottomless chips and salsa. The salsa wasn't my favorite. It wasn't bad, but I prefer something a bit thicker with pieces of tomatoes and other veggies, whereas this had a watery consistency.My friends both ordered different enchilada platters from the lunch specials. They were a large and plentiful, and they had food left over.I, on the other hand, was craving a fresh salad. I chose the shrimp salad and was very disappointed. It was small in size and came in one of those tortilla bowls. It was basically only a lettuce mixture with the shrimp on the top. The did give me a generous portion of shrimp, but each was very small. It did not fulfill my craving for a big fresh salad at all. It really felt like there was no effort at all put into it.I might go there again if it is convenient to meet friends, but I would definitely not recommend the salad. It is probably best to stick to the margaritas and the daily specials.

The restaurant is pretty dumpy, but the food is great. meat is juicy and the chips are crunchy. Their enchilada sauce is really good. Above average Mexican food. The waiters you get can vary, some don't care about you, while others are very nice. The bathrooms are terrible

Have a hankering for some tasty Mexican food? Swing by Marietta's and satisfy your cravings! Their vast menu caters to all, and let me tell you, the chicken fajitas I enjoyed with refried beans and rice were served sizzling hot. We also ordered the shrimp fajitas also equally awesome. It's no wonder this place is a top pick in East County!

I've been at the restaurant a few times. My daughter and her family, this is their go to spot for Mexican food. That night-we were there it was pretty busy. I think our server was a little overwhelmed. I know we'll be back.

I've driven by this restaurant numerous times and decided to give it a try over the weekend and was incredibly disappointed.We ordered enchiladas and an albondiga soup and when the food arrived, the soup had a freaking plastic bag in it! I got the waiter's attention and after telling him, he quickly took the soup back to the kitchen. He came back to our table and offered us a free dessert without an apology or explanation which was unacceptable. I ate a few bites of my cheese enchilada with rice and beans but the rice tasted old and had hard pieces in it and by this point we had all lost our appetite. As we were getting ready to leave, the manager let us know that we wouldn't need to pay for our meal which should have been said right away along with an apology and explanation from whomever made the soup. I will definitely not be back to this restaurant after what happened and the way they poorly handled the situation.

Doesn't give the real Mexican authentic experience. I rate the food at. Customer service is a 10/10 Haspanic girl with glasses , super attentive, very friendly, very respectful, and kept on always asking if we needed anything. Drinks are nine out of 10. Salsa & chips is 2/10 to be honest. Food came out quickly , restraunt wasnt pack or anything no wait. we order the caldo de cameron 7/10. chile colorado 6/10, appetizer murrita sampler 3/10. pollo con arroz 4/10. Bean and chicken burrito 4/10. pina colada drink was strong. I rated a 8/10. jimaica aguafresa 10/10. The place is a little outdated. The chairs weren't as comfortable. the place was very welcoming , kind of dead .
