Maria's Frybread & Mexican Food

This restaurant is slept on by too many. Their green chili beef open frybreads is the go-to IMO. I unfortunately just moved away and while I don't plan to go there as often anymore, I will make it a goal to stop by whenever I am in the area. The guy who owns it is incredible nice, and the prices are very reasonable - please don't increase them : )

Wow this place is amazing! I've never found a place that serves pozole 7 days a week. And they are big portions. It's kind of expensive but so worth it. It's definitely enough for 2 meals well at least for me lol. I've been here now 3 times and it's been amazing every time.There's also tables outside and it's kind of a small place and kind of hard to find. When you enter the shopping center it's all the way km the far right corner by Fascinations.

Service was nice and friendly. From the time I ordered until the time the food was delivered to me at my table was about five minutes. Food was average. The fry bread itself was good. However, the Carne Asada was a disappointment and was chopped so small that I thought it was ground beef.

I wanted to try some frybread before leaving Arizona and found Maria's Frybread & Mexican Food on Yelp... I'm happy to report that it exceeded my high expectations even after reading all the rave reviews!We visited on a Monday around 2:15 pm and they weren't busy at all.FAST FACTS:* Parking - available in the lot in the front or on the side of the building* Drive thru availableSERVICE - The gentleman working at the front was AWESOME! He greeted us right away and seemed genuinely excited that we were there! He took our order and offered to wait to serve us the plain frybread once we were done the savory frybread which was perfect. He checked on us as we were eating to get the timing of the plain frybread and said goodbye as we left. I was super impressed by the hospitality!PRICING - The total was $18.98 after tax for an open frybread ($11.49) and plain frybread ($5.99). Considering the portion size, I thought the pricing was reasonable!CARNE ASADA FRYBREAD (10/10) - This rocked my world! It was larger than expected but I enjoyed every single bite. The frybread itself was super crispy and remained that way until the last bite (aka no sogginess). The carne asada was delicious and all the toppings were fresh and plentiful. Three different salsa options were brought out with it and they were all delicious. I would order this again in a heartbeat!PLAIN FRYBREAD (9/10) - This was the perfect sweet ending! Again, the frybread was super crispy and it was served with an assortment of sauces (chocolate, caramel, and raspberry), honey, powdered sugar, and a cinnamon sugar. My favorite was a little honey with some cinnamon sugar but I loved that I could sample the different combinations and each bite was a little different.I'll definitely recommend Maria's Frybread & Mexican Food to others in the Phoenix area and will absolutely stop by the next time I'm in town!

This place is easy 10/10 for me. Came in Friday evening. Legit from placing my order to getting the food less than 10 min. I also ordered it to go. There are a few tables to eat at inside but overall very small restaurant so if it was busier I can imagine it being pretty much arms to elbows if you choose to sit down. Ordered an open face frybread taco carne asada and then closed frybread taco with green chile as well as a glass bottle of coke. Total was about $27 and I think very worth.The frybread is the star of the show by far. So pillowy and seasoned perfectly it just melds with the meat and beans. They gave me 2 cups of salsa per each taco which I think is the perfect amount. Rather have more salsa than not enough and their salsa is so good. Zesty and tangy which cuts through the frybread and just a lot of contrast there. It's very bright tasting. Zingy and tomato flavored like they use lemon instead of lime. 10/10 must visit

Authentic Mexican being served at good prices and HUGE portions. Tried the beef tamales and a fry bread taco. Tamales were good, a little heavy on the masa, but the fry bread taco was a giant, delicious chalupa - only better. Mine was filled with meat, cheese and beans. The fry bread was the star of the show. Crisp on the inside & outside, but did & chewy in the middle. You have to try it! Staff was helpful with this first timer.

This is a hidden jewel.. it's a small place. It has a drive thru. Reasonable prices. Attentive service. But.. the fry bread .. I'm happy to report is amazing. They got the beans.. cheese.. and of course honey and powdered sugar.. they do have other dishes as well. Everything looked and smelled great.. non fussy.. all about the food baby... even passed my clean bathroom test. Love it.

I was in the mood for fry bread and happened to be close by. I don't even know this place existed. I was pleasantly greeted when I came and had my order taken right away. It is a small restaurant and it was full. My green chile fry bread was amazing as well as my powdered sugar and honey. People kept coming in. Definitely recommend this place

Amazing. I order an open frybread with green chili and shredded beef at the drive through (because they aren't answering the phone), I get THIS. No green chili, no beef, just beans and cheese which isn't what was charged for.

The food here was so good and everyone was so funny and nice amazing taste recommended for a new restaurant.
