Maple & Rye

We've had a great experience with food, drinks and waitstaff. It's lovely sitting on the golf course and the water feature out the window. The only thing last time I didn't care for, is last visit we had finished dinner and were ordering another drink/catching up, when the manager came and started taking things off our table, trying to get us to cash out and interrupting twice. There were tons of open tables so they didn't need ours and we had just spent $150; weeks weren't sipping $2 drinks and holding a table. Just thought it felt rushed. Up until that point, everything was great and both times loved our server.

Visited Maple & Rye for the first time today...shocked there has been any bad reviews for this spot.Decor, food and service were all top notch.It's in the middle of Sun City, so maybe people are used to Denny's and jello molds. Whatever it is, if you want actually good food and a great experience, skip the Grand Slam and all you can eat breadsticks and make it out to Maple & Rye.

Second trip there and nobody in my party could eat their food this place can close any time now. The deviled eggs were so bad I could hardly even eat them. Tastes like salt and vinegar. and the gravy on the overcooked country fried steak was out of a can. It wasn't even properly heated. It was still gelatinous. And when they say "seasonal vegetables", they mean boiled squash, which was disgusting. A little bit of seasoning would help something that tremendously. But no. And frankly there is no excuse for this. This is restaurant is owned by a larger restaurant group that is very successful in the Phoenix valley so why this ugly redhead stepchild of a beast exists? who knows. Server was nice.

Visiting from out of town and found this place on Yelp. It's 8 mins from the hotel so an easy location for us to get to. I didn't realize is was on/near the gold course. Restaurant was nice and clean and there's a beautiful view of the golf course and the little pond. We asked to sit inside since it was over 100 degrees outside, even though they had misters on the outside patio. Service was great! Our waitress was so friendly and welcoming. She also checked on us a few times throughout our visit. There was also another waitress that walked by and complimented me. She was so sweet. The food was good! We stopped in and got brunch. French toast and a loaded hash skillet. Everything was flavorful, but the drink we had weren't so great. The margarita was too tart and sour and the chili margarita was so bland. It tasted to watered down and was not good at all. View was amazing.

Brunch - RECOMMENDED! Patriot Breakfast is our go-to. As a self-proclaimed bacon and hashbrowns snob .... APPROVED! My sons and I love this breakfast and no longer need menus when we make it in before 2PM. Love to add a margarita or mimosa to give that true brunch feel any day. When not sitting on the patio, love the bar area with the wide, high top leather stools - so comfy! Bar deco is beautiful and TVs always have a variety of sport programming going. We'll be back.

Met a friend for lunch on a busy Friday afternoon. Made a reservation weeks ago and it was good that I did! We sat inside and they opened the doors to allow the afternoon breeze. Patio seating is also an option. This establishment is in the active retirement community of Sun City Grand (aka The Grand). It recently opened and was very busy hosting the 70+ crowd. Dana greeted us right away, let us catch up before ordering and was very attentive throughout our visit. The food came out quick, hot and beautifully prepared. The fish tacos were great! Flavorful, moist and the perfect size for lunch. The tots could have been crispier but the delicious ranch & spicy aïoli dipping sauce made up for it. Just be sure to let your server know and ask for the bills to be on "separate tables" if you have multiple checks. Nice to have a decent restaurant in town. We'll be back for sure!

3rd Trip to Maple & Rye. We wanted to try breakfast this week as well. It didn't disappoint. We and so many residents in the area are so happy to have a new, fresh place to go for meals any time of day. Again, headed over in our golf cart for a 945AM reservation for 2. Our server was Sabi and we were very impressed. Sabi took care of all our needs and even if with a slight glitch, was able to get the correct meal very fast. My suggestion for the restaurant, if someone orders hot tea, have a small pot of hot water near by to make a second cup of tea. We aren't coffee drinkers, so we like to make 2 cups out of one tea bag. Bonus, provide 2 tea bags per order. That would go a long way to. A customer who loves tea!! Today we started with the donut holes. Very nice treat and shareable for 4! Just the right amount of glaze, but even a little extra brought on the side. Suggestion - make sure to serve with small plates. This is a sticky and drippy dish. For meals, we had the biscuit and gravy. I had it with breakfast potatoes and egg whites with cheddar cheese. Biscuit was large and love the homemade taste! Gravy was also a nice treat, not too salty and actually flavorful. And I was a big fan of the potatoes. I'll be back for more!!The build your own omelette included cheddar, bacon and ham as an add on protein. Hash browns were perfect. Sourdough could have used more butter, but overall a nice complement to the meal. We are very happy with this place. We have tried all 3 meals and some were bigger hits than others, but overall, great to have a beautiful new place to hang out and enjoy a wonderful view.

Lovely decor, beautiful linen napkins, lovely cutlery and coffee cups. Nice portion sizes. Enjoyed our waitress, Sabí. Very sweet and attentive. Comments from our table: Big tasty homemade biscuits, burrito too many potatoes --not enough chorizo. Bananas Foster French Toast is a very sweet, but delicious . Loaded Corned beef hash skillet came piping hot but it wasn't hash. It was cubed corn beef. Still worth getting the dish with its crispy potatoes and hollandaise sauce. Will I be back? Yes!

Visiting the area to see my sister, we all decided to go to Maple and Rye for dinner, last night. I love the thoroughness of their menu, a wide variety. The choice was hard, but I decided to try their meatloaf dinner. And it was very tasty and flavorful. I enjoyed the great customer service, and the view of the golf course completed my very positive experience. The place was tidy and clean. Food was decent. We enjoyed our dinner, and who knows, we might come back! LOVE the area!!!
