Manuel's Mexican Restaurant & Cantina - Scottsdale

Manuels has THE best pollo especial. (A chimichanga with best, juicy, tender, most flavorful shredded chicken mixed with chilis.) It was covered in sauce and jalapeño cream cheese, onions and olives. Served with rice and beans. It was DELICIOUS and huge. Made for dinner and breakfast the next day before my flight home. The restaurant had live music, dancing, and a great vibe! Service was quick, and chips and salsa were tasty. It was such a fun and yummy place to eat. I would come back for sure.

Food is awful! Ordered chicken and got beef. Really bland with little flavor except for a pound of salt. It was so salty I'm about to be sick now. It looks to be a popular place to drink.

Awful experience! We were just trying to order a round of margs and some appetizers and it was one thing after another. Server, bartender, AND manager couldn't get our order correct and then the drinks were so horrible that we had to send them back TWICE. We got nothing but attitude from the staff and we were trying to be gracious and understanding as fellow industry peeps, but they were all so rude! Our "server" was completely unattentive and never checked in on us while these issues were happening. To top it off, they tried to charge us for 2 happy hour margs instead of the only ONE that we consumed. The manager said "it's only a couple more dollars and it's because we had to remake so many of them." Any reputable establishment would have comped something from the bill, but instead they tried to charge us MORE?! Totally unacceptable.On the other hand, the hostess, Jana, was AMAZING!! SHE should be the manager, as she actually had the capacity to provide excellent customer service and try to make the situation right. Thank you Jana, you're amazing! As for the rest of the staff, please get your act together for the sake of your business.

I ordered a vegetarian green corn tamale tray for a party. 2 trays!!! One tray came with half green and half red sauce.The red sauce had beef in it????!!!!! What?????? So when someone orders green corn tamales you put beef in half the tray?? Really?? So my vegetarian guests who are that for religious reasons have to take a bite of beef?? Horrifying. Who on earth owns this place? Manuel where the heck are you dude? Your place sucks for quality measures.

So so much fun! We went twice during our stay in the area and sat in the bar the 2nd time. The band was quite good and the food delicious! Service was top notch. Nice to have a night out without spending a bloody fortune as well. Highly recommend!!

Great food, Mayra the server is the sweetest!! Loved the Mangonadas and finally we found a good Mexican restaurant in this area. Coming from. Los Angeles where Mexican food is sooo good, I can finally say we found a comparable place in Scottsdale.

Our service/server was incredible but the food was not. My husband and I got food poisoning from dinner & we were up sick that night after we shared two different dishes. We were excited to try as it's close to our home but we won't be back.

Very disappointing. The food was very bland. The salsa was jar salsa. The beans have zero flavor. The rice similar. My taco was ok but this is a no go for me. Do not recommend at all

Great lunch spot! My personal fave is the Green Corn Tamale Lunch special - so good! service is always on point and food comes out FAST!
