Manuel's Mexican Restaurant & Cantina - Glendale

This was the perfect place to spend my Cinco De Mayo. I am so happy I stumbled upon this restaurant!I had the Tampiqueña Dinner with an original margarita. Since it was Cinco De Mayo, there were plenty of drink specials. The steak was juicy and flavorful and it paired well with the flour tortillas, rice & beans , and cheesy enchilada. The customer service at the bar was great! Both guys were attentive and helpful! I will definitely be back to eat this again! I honestly think I may have found one of my go to Mexican restaurants!

My wife and I have been coming to Manuel's for quite some time, as it is very close and convenient to our house and it is very easy to run over to get some Mexican food takeout fairly quickly. However, over the past several months, we have noticed a fairly steep decline in the quality of their food and also the service. Several times during the past few months, we would return home and find the food would either be a bit cold or the tacos would be a bit on the greasy side, or they had made a mistake in our order by either not preparing the correct dish or forgetting to include part of our order. After our experience this past Sunday, we have decided we are no longer going to eat at this restaurant. My wife and I went to Manuel's Mexican Restaurant for a takeout order on July 21st (Sunday). When we returned home, we realized they had made a mistake with our order and had given us an incorrect item (spinach enchiladas instead of seafood enchiladas). Because we did not want the other items in our order to get cold, I returned to the restaurant and I requested they redo the order. After returning home, I took 2 or 3 bites of a chicken taco, and discovered a piece of wood in the taco, roughly 1/2 centimeter or so in width and roughly 1 1/2 to 2 inches in length. I discovered the piece of wood in my mouth while chewing on the bite of the taco and I am very grateful that I did not choke on the piece of wood or tried to swallow it. I was quite surprised at how large the piece of wood was. I showed it to my wife and we cleaned it off and verified that it was not a piece or a part of the chicken or a chicken bone.I am not one to file a bad review on a business establishment because I know how important good Yelp reviews are to a business. Despite the past hiccups (colder food or mistakes in the order), we tried to give Manuel's the benefit of the doubt by going back, realizing that sometimes businesses can have a bad day or make a mistake. Also, the owners and the front counter staff have always been very friendly and professional. But finding a piece of wood this large in our food (after returning a previous order on the same visit because of mistake) has turned out to be the last straw for us. Also, because of the size of the piece of wood in the food, I did file a formal complaint against Manuel's with Maricopa County (Incident #CC5173).

Taco Tuesday! Arrived about 5:30. Parking lot was jammed but no wait list inside. The hostess sat the two of us in the bar area in a small booth. Chips and salsa brought right away. Chips very greasy but fresh and hot. Very thin and since they were greasy we thought it strange the salt didn't stick. Salsa was good but mild variety had a canned tomato aftertaste. Waitress took our drink order. Two sodas. When she came back she took our food order. Our service was wonderful, Carmen I believe was her name. She was friendly and efficient. Food came out pretty quickly but a food runner. A carne asada burrito (just over $19 with rice and beans) for him and the $9.99 taco Tuesday special for me. Two QuesaBirria tacos, ala carte. My tacos were ok. The meat reminded me of beef I'd cook in the crockpot. Consommé very salty. A decent meal for the price. His burrito was packed with tender, flavorful carne asada. It was huge and he only ate about 2/3rds it was so massive. Overall it was an ok dining experience. The food was ok, nothing special, nothing wrong. Service was above average. With tax and tip it was $50. We will return because sit down dining options are limited in the area.

Martin did such a great job working his area and taking care of my parents, myself and boyfriend. The Taco salad was delicious and the pricing is quite reasonable. I would definitely recommend getting the fried ice cream. The frosted flakes on ice cream blew my mind. I can see why my parents love this place, great food, great atmosphere, and great staff!

The parking lot is small for as busy as it is. However, there is a large parking lot pretty close, you just have to cross a small street. Anyway, they are generous with the portion size. Every time I come here I have enough for 2 meals, even with the lunch portion. Their chips and salsa are super good, and it is easy to fill up on those, so not gonna lie, that's probably one of the reasons I have enough for 2 meals. I had the pollo especial. Yum. Definitely would get this again. 9/10. It wasn't too spicy. The beans and rice were good, like the abuelitas at my work make. The chicken was seasoned nicely and it looks like a lot of cheese from the picture but it did not have too much cheese, it was the perfect amount. On prior visits I've had their Mexican pizza, and it's HUGE. It was also good, very shareable even with an appetite like mine. I'll Whitney Houston this and "always love Mexican food", or whatever she said. Service has always been friendly and when I ordered food to go, they included chips and salsa with the to go order and I didn't even have to ask. Yasssss. Very chill and cheery atmosphere, not too loud. Don't skip this place if you love chips and salsa and basically, tasty Mexican food.

Service and food were great. We got our drinks and food in a timely manner with a table of 7. This is the fajita plate, you can literally see the steam coming off of it. Soooo gooood.

We've been coming to this location for two decades and it's always the most consistent and delicious. Service is fast and rarely do we ever have to ask for anything. Today we came for lunch and were seated right away. I wasn't very hungry so I ordered a shredded beef taco with rice and beans. I usually order either fish tacos, seafood enchiladas or things like that. Everything is always good. They have a full service bar if ptu enjoy drinks. The place is clean and plenty of seating. Parking can be a mess depending on time and if it's a weekend, but you can park across the street near the behavioral center and walk over. It is not too far. It's always worth the drive to me.

Manuel's was good this day. A short wait, but our server was great once we sat down! They have great salsa. Chips were warm and crunchy. It's really so much food, though. I ordered a taco, cheese enchilada, and beans. So many beans! The taco was a little dry, but nothing a little salsa couldn't fix. My mom got a green corn tamale- it's her favorite, and she loved it. It was busy and a bit loud, but we enjoyed our dinner.

This place is A1! It's literally the best Mexican restaurant near us! I love it so much, been coming here for YEARS and it's clean and the bathrooms are well maintained. The staff is always friendly and fast! Food comes out hot and quick and we've never had any complaints about Manuel's! Keep up the fantastic work everyone! We will see you again soon!

I went to place an order over the phone. I previously had a free meal that they had given me due to them Messing up a previous order. I tried to use the free meal and they said their system got wiped out and they no longer can honor it due to it not showing in their system anymore. Every time I place an order it's usually over $60. Tonight would have been around the same after the free meal however they wouldn't honor it. I'm a very loyal customer and have all my family functions here. I'm very disappointed and dissatisfied. The manager wouldn't even get on the phone this is extremely unprofessional and frustrating. If I could give negative stats I would.
