Mandy's Fish & Chips

When you want some fish fried and done right, get over to Mandy's! We haven't been here in a while and we decided to stop in for lunch seeing as we were on that side of town and OMG it was so delicious. My fish was perfect I ordered the whiting with french fries, tartar sauce, jalapeño poppers, and shrimp. It was a special they were having (jalapeño poppers got on the side. However, I did not eat the shrimp because I don't like shrimp. I gave them to my hubby and he tore them up. I didn't even have leftovers to go home and this was a three-piece OK! My husband had the cod that had a different type of breading on it than my fish and I like they were done differently but still very good. The prices were awesome. Not expensive. For two specials, two drinks and the jalapeño poppers we paid $32. Oh and we had hush puppies!! They were delicious and moist and not all dried out or just too much like some places. Mandy's never disappoints even after all this time (it's been over 7 years since last visit)! Service was great, no complaints. The place is pretty small with maybe seating for not even 15 people maybe. But it's OK because you could take your food to go and it's still good when you get home. We ordered specials to go to take to our parents to eat and when we dropped the food off, it was still pretty hot.

Fried catfish was great, hush puppies were on point. The cashier wasn't the friendliest in the world but the guy cooking was fantastic. It's small so if you want a seat, get there early.

We found them on the way to work one day and decided to come inside for a full service try! First they're behind the counter so eating inside isn't like traditional dining. They do bring out your food on a tray but there isn't continuous wait service. The first choice here is Bass perfectly cooked, fries nice and crispy! Nice place to come and try if you like things on the spicy side ask for extra Cajun on afterwards!! Bon appétit !!

I like this place reminds me a lot of a place back where I am from but they need to update the prices on the menu and online

Found this little gem when I got turned around looking for Sonic! Boy am I glad I did! We had catfish, whiting, bbq wings and fries! There was not anything we had that was disappointing!! It was all hot, fresh and cooked to perfection! Mandy's will be our new go to for fish! Made these Chicago natives feel like we had landed on the Southside!!

I've been to many fish and chips establishments; by far this one has the best shrimp. There wasn't to much breading and enough shrimp. However, I didn't like how dry the fries were. They tatsted like they been sitting under hot lamp all day. I will definitely go back and try some other things on the menu.

This review is for the newest Mandy's on Indian School and 27th Avenue. I visited this establishment on a Monday around 6:10 PM. I ordered the three piece fish and chips. I chose the Cod cooked in English style. I also sampled the six piece oysters. The oysters were very good, although a bit small. The cod was also very good, and the English batter was crunchy. The food quality is on par with other fish and chip places that I've tried. When I arrived at this establishment, there was 1-2 people waiting for their order. I had to wait about 10 minutes for my order. There was no one eating inside, however that could've been due to the holiday. Their menu is extensive and also includes a fish sandwich, burgers, gyros, cheesesteak, chicken tenders, chicken nuggets, chicken wings and popcorn shrimp. They also offer various side orders, mozzarella sticks, jalapeño, poppers. Desserts, such as pecan pie, carrot cake, strawberry cheesecake, as well as fried desserts, like fried Oreos, fried Twinkies, fried KitKat. They also offer various milk shakes. The establishment is located on Indian School and 27th Ave, not the best area, but worth the visit if you're craving fish and chips. I look forward to trying more of their menu.

Servers was rude, food was descent, tables were sticky and not clean. Wasn't as fresh as I'd like it to be
