I ordered through the to good to go app. When arrived they had no idea I had ordered. There was a bit of confusion but they did honor my order from the app.The food not good. It was greasy and tough, similar to what i would imagine was some dried up fried pork? Atop white rice. Looking at their menu, I feel they could have done better.I was given some type of small custard pie. Very dry and over cooked. I do not suggest this place.

I wanted to try a *new* place, so a quick Yelp Search, I found Mama Lin's Asian Kitchen. My bf's daughter was down for it so off we went after a dance cardio class. According to Yelp reviews, it looks like Mama Lin's opened in March 2024 in the 99 Ranch Market (one of the last stalls in the food court area).Between the 2 of us, we tried:- Spam Musubi- Radish Pork Rib Soup - this was good, light, and refreshing- Stewed Beef Brisket with Tomatoes & Potatoes - this was full of flavor. We only ate half and had to ask for a box to bring home as leftovers.- Egg Tart - this was freshly made, so I couldn't resist and ordered 2.- Honey Lime Green Tea - light, refreshing, and not overly sweetPortions were generous. Everything we ordered was freshly made. I wished the Beef Brisket dish came with white rice - but apparently have to order separate. By that time, the "moment" was gone, and I was too lazy to back and order rice. HUNGER overpowered after a dance class. LOL. Service was friendly, but the lady helping us didn't understand English that well, so pointed to the board to order food. I pretty much forgot all my Chinese at this point. Ambiance is casual with shared tables in a food court. Tips:- Point to the menu to order if there are language issues- Don't forget to order rice if you order entree dishes!- Return bowls and dishes back to the restaurant when finishedENJOY!

I was here just a month ago to eat won ton soup at Saigon 5. Now Mama Lin's here. I ordered the won ton soup with egg noodles. I had a bad feeling when I saw the garlic pieces floating on top of the soup. The bitter garlic flavor was the main flavor of this dish. Egg noodles had a very mild flavor. I liked the mix of pork and shrimp in the won tons. 3 slices of char siu had a nice 5 spice powder flavor. Overall this dish would be ok if I can order it with no garlic otherwise I wouldn't get it again.2nd visit I tried the beef short rib combo. The combo came with green tea. I was expecting plain green tea like most of the Chinese restaurants I go to offer. I was surprised by how sweet it was. I gave it to Maggie but she didn't want it either as it was too sweet for her as well. Rice was very moist. I liked the light flavor. Beef was very tender and juicy. There was not enough beef to match the huge amount of rice. Also I didn't like the flavor from being marinated in black bean sauce. I much prefer the flavor you get from Hawaiian places like Homestyle Hawaiian. Steamed broccoli was room temperature and had a mild broccoli flavor.Cashier was nice and food came out when I was done shopping. I miss Saigon 5. They had a really delicious won ton soup.

One of the end stalls at the 99 Ranch Market food court in Clairemont is now the home of Mama Lin's Asian Kitchen. It used to be operated by a Thai eatery that was a part of the original vendor lineup. Despite the ample parking lot and spacious setup of this market, there are always fewer customers that shop here than its counterpart on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. Consequently, this food court also has less patronage.Four menu screens were hanging above the service counter. The variety of choices spanned the spectrum of Asian cultures. The left screen listed the drinks and desserts. Right of that was a screen with the combos, fried rice, and soup noodles. Continuing right, that screen displayed the ramen and pho offerings. Lastly, appetizers, banh mi, and corn dogs were on the far right screen. Each of the combo listings was served with a scoop of white rice, two side dishes, and tea. I chose the Eel Rice that featured tomato egg and broccoli as the two sides. My drink was a plain green tea because the milk version would have incurred an additional charge of $2. The eel pieces were coated with a generous amount of sweet sauce similar to teriyaki. The food quality and portion size were decent, however it's debatable if this item was worth $18.

Daughter loved the asian style hotdog. The octopus balls were decent. The bahn mi was too mayonnaisy. I have had much better bahn mi at lower price.

We went to this restaurant for dinner the other night. After going through the menu, we ordered Braised Pork & Broccoli, Salt & Pepper Fish, Stir Fried Chicken, Braised Beef, and Shaxian BianRou Soup. These home-styled Chinese dishes were very delicious. The portions were decent; the four of us could not finish them and had to box the leftover. The service was great and the owner was very friendly. We definitely will go back to try some other dishes.
