I haven't tried a lot of Korean food so when I was at the Mitsuwa Marketplace, I decided to step out of my comfort zone. I ordered the Dol Sot Bi Bim Bop that had lots of vegetables and thin sliced beef served in a sizzling hot bowl. Served with hot sauce, it was tasty and filling. My daughter ordered the Bibim Naengmyeon. They only take cash which I had to scrape together

Been here quite a few times. Consistently good food. Fast service, and usually does not have a long line.Have not been disappointed with their food. Menu is easy to understand. There is a case of models of all the food with names and pricing. This is a cash only establishment, and Korean. It is inside Mitsuwa which is prominently Japanese. Still, Mama House has been there for many years. I'd recommend trying it if you never have.

Absolutely delicious. We had the number ten and the number two and I cannot rave about it enough. The spicy seafood soup and the bibimbop. Oh my gosh. Absolute delish.

I've passed this place a lot of times while visiting the market but the other day I decided to stop by after seeing a lot of locals stop by there. I was so very pleased with the #1(who knew something so simple could be so delicious) Not only was the food amazing but lady was so sweet and her smile could light up a room. I will definitely be going back and ordering again!

My fiance has eaten here several times, and he likes their chicken katsu. We went here today and got the katsu along with their mul nengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodle). Great chicken katsu. Friendly service. Dependable mitsuwa food court option.

Who farted in my Deon Jang Chigae Soup? The lines for all the Japanese restaurants inside of Mitsuwa Supermarket were 10-20 deep so decided to give Mama's a try. I LOVE Korean food and whenever I get a chance Deon Jang Soup (Korean Miso Soup) is tops on my list. Mama-san at the register was extremely friendly and polite. She smiled while taking my order and handed my change back with the ever so respectful one hand to the elbow of the extended arm. Took a peek in the kitchen (glass wall) and noticed a Mexican chef... oh... interesting. But I guess the items on the menu weren't that difficult to make.About 15 minutes later my Deon Jang Chigae was done! Thoughts of having this great soup in LA's Korea Town, South Korea (lived there for 4 yrs), Honolulu and even in Tokyo brought back visions of can't go wrong yum yum yum oishii~!Picked it up and as I was placing the food on my table I smelt a very overbearing stanky fart smell. I mean I like stinky food as some can be unusually addictive but this was seriously like the chef infused extra farts in my soup... it just STANK! I felt so so so bad for my sister and 2 nephews sitting at my table. After a few minutes I just couldn't take it any more... and didn't want to have my wonderful breathe smell like poo... Honest to goodness... it really really smelled like fresh cow manure. Had a few spoons of soup and did my best to eat the tofu but I just gave up... And the RICE... it was god aweful. I think it was glue grade rice.Overall the Mama's service was so super excellent but food was simply gross. I highly suggest avoiding this place at all cost and lining up for anything else in the food court. If you are the one to like the smell and taste of juicy farts then hey... Deon Jang Chigae is for you!

Mama house is located inside the Japanese supermarket Mitsuwa. In the hidden corner of the foodcourt standa this gem of a store. Out of curiosity and getting bores of my usual ramen (w/c i still love), i tried the 'Jam bong' (thats how they spell it) from MaMa house. My order comes up in a reasonable time and carrying it on the tray back to my table, BAM, it hits me. The smell of the ocean. Fresh seafood in this steaming hot bowl of spicy noodles. I can't stopping hanging my nose over it. But did it tatse good? Now for anyone who has had real seafood, not frozen stuff, you can tell what is good. And this tasted as good as it smelled. You get squid, shrimp and mussels, sometimes more than just 2 each. My wife always asks to have some. Shes a rice eater so she has her own meal but cant resisit my Jam Bong. And now that the weather is cooler, this hot red bowl of steaming seafood goodness hits the spot for me. Its better than several other Jam Bong versions ive tried before. So give it a try, i live so much closer to many korean places but they cant come close to this particuler concoction.

They skimp on the ingredients. Seafood pancake is full of onions instead of seafood. Bibimbob is full of onions instead of namuls. Jjampoong is full of onions instead of seafood. They just like to fill the volume with onions. Tofu hotpot (Soondubu) is also full of fake crabsticks instead of seafood. I've never seen any soondubu made with crabsticks, it is just wrong. One more thing that is wrong, plastic spoon for hot stone bowl bibimbob is just wrong.

My favorite place at Mitsuwa food court. Love their spicy pork which tastes just like my mom's recipe (she's an amazing cook). On cold winter days I choose their kimchi chigae, which comes with generous fresh tofu and kimchi fermented just perfect for the purpose. It easy, no frills, jip-bop style authentic K food. My ultimate comfort food.
