Mall Of Africa Restaurant

Mall of AfricaNot too familiar with African cuisine but am always open to trying and learning more. Stumbled across this newly opened restaurant and decided to give it a try.I got the Ugali (15.99): corn meal with side of spinach, served with goat. The goat was great, soft and tender. Very flavorful. The spinach mixed well with the corn servings. The corn reminded was reminiscent of grits, and was a nice change of pace from the usual rice and noodles I'm accustomed to. The cashier told me the dish was from Somalia and Kenya, so I'll take his word for it. The menu is a bit misleading though. The prices don't correspond to the meal. The Ugali appeared as 13.99, with the options of chicken, goat, or beef. But they later told me goat was $2 extra even though it was under the 13.99 price. So check in with the staff for the actual prices. looking forward to trying more African cuisines!

If you've never had African (Somali and Ethiopian dishes) food before, don't be intimidated! Delicious food, friendly staff. They will take care of you and you'll leave with a happy tummy. Tried the Sambuzas, Chicken Suqar, and Lamb shank. Not one complaint. Can't wait to try more items, next time I'll go for the Injera and Somali Coffee.
