We came here for the Beetlejuice pop up Speakeasy. It's going for September to 31 October 2024. Perfect timing for the new Beetlejuice movie! There was about a 30 minute wait, which wasn't bad because we had time to sit at the bar at the Makeready and try a couple of their craft cocktails. The Beetlejuice pop up was everything I'd hoped it would be!! The drinks are outrageously expensive, but it is all for the experience. Warning, don't steel their tiki glasses or you will get charged $100. Apparently everyone was stealing their glasses. The scenery was like something straight from the other side!

My partner and I went for dinner last Friday and it was unbelievably delicious. There isn't a GF menu, but it turned out that it's because the two pasta dishes were the only things that couldn't be done GF. We ordered a dozen oysters, the pork chop and the branzino (fish). Truly delightful. We also ordered off the special cocktails menu, which both turned out divine. While there isn't a GF menu, the staff was knowledgeable and the chef was accommodating. They even "reimagined" one of the desserts for me so I could have dessert since it was a special night. I couldn't believe the place was empty! The only down side is that it's tucked away with very little signage. You can access from inside the Noelle hotel (take the elevator down) or from the street - but you need to look closely. A true hidden gem! (Our server Jo was incredible!)

Well, I chose this place for my birthday dinner with the family and was a little disappointed overall. First let me express that Kayleigh did an exceptional job in service and we couldn't have asked for better. She was personable and knowledgeable about the offerings. 5 stars for her!! Now onto what struck me as odd: The extremely limited menu selectionsThe overall vibe regarding music selectionThe cocktails The extremely small portions for the amount chargedThe staleness of the desserts (we ordered all 3 that were offered) Being hungry after having cocktails, appetizers , entrees and dessertsI had such high hopes for this immersion Alive in Wonderland experience, but my "unbirthday" was a bust. :(It makes me even more sad to post a negative review, which I rarely do. 3 stars for trying with decor, but missing the mark.

Nice ambience and very nice server (Jo) but food was pretty bad. Tasted like standard hotel food, bland and unimpressive. Wine was very good though (pecorino).

The food was so good, easily the best grilled cheese I've ever had. The fries tasted like Arby's curly fries so good! Two of my friends got the burger and loved it! The service was great, our waitress was so sweet and on top of it with perfect timing for everything. The restaurant is so cute with the Alice and Wonderland theme, we loved it! Very reasonably priced for downtown.

We came here for high tea. The theme was down the rabbit hole. I hope Hailee is your server because she was very organized, focused, and enjoyed having her serve us. The food was plentiful and delicious. Highly recommend the boozy tea. We got the Cheshire gin and the Twinkle twinkle little bat. Superb savory and sweet bites. You are allowed to take them home. We got the boozy tea and were able to have a pot of tea along with it.

Review #1400! Makeready L&L is a gorgeous spot located at the base of the beautiful Noelle Hotel in downtown Nashville. You can get to Makeready through the main hotel entrance, or via a dedicated entrance on 4th Avenue. We popped in for pre-dinner cocktails and appetizers, and were lucky enough to grab a few spots at the small, but mighty bar. Here we ordered a couple of cocktails and glasses of wine, paired with the Beef and Pork Meatballs. We were lucky enough to come by during happy hour, so our wine, cocktail and meatballs were all discounted! The meatballs were served over a bed of creamy polenta and were delightfully perfect for our appetizer. The space is cozy, decor is timeless and the vibe is great. There are several different seating options from the bar to high tops, standard tables and even lounge style seating. Service was friendly from the hostess stand to the bartender and food runner. Overall, while we did not experience the full gamut of offerings at Makeready, we did enjoy what we did experience...enough to come back for sure!

Great Happy Hour prices and offerings! If you visit, do it between 5 and 7 pm Monday -Thursday. Appetizers, wine by the glass, 2 salads, and specialty cocktails are all 1/2 off. Cocktails are boozy and well made. The first glass of wine they poured me was old and nasty, but they quickly opened a new bottle and gave me a new glass of wine. The meatball app and the crab arancini app were our favorites. Salads were large and fresh. We loved the bolognese! Pappardelle Noodles were cooked well and the sauce was meaty and had good flavor. A lack of servers was obvious. We called the manager for a reservation and he sounded distressed, asking if we could come 30 minutes later. Yet, the restaurant wasn't even 50% full. The hostess was wonderful, but she had to act as our server. Staff morale seems low here. My wife let them know it was my Birthday, but there was no offer for any free glass of champagne or dessert. Bottom-line is that the Happy Hour prices are worth it for the less than friendly service you will endure. I wouldn't recommend coming here to pay full price for dinner. You'll be disappointed with the service if you do.

Brad reached out to update me on a new menu and new chef and to invite me back. This is classy and attentive attention to customers, which I appreciate. Would recommend to try this restaurant as there is attention to detail, as seen in the decor and now to patron feedback.

Had a reservation on a Saturday night for a girls night and we were seated right away as the restaurant wasn't crowded. Low light levels and nice ambiance. Perfect atmosphere for a date, as it wasn't too loud. The fried mozzarella appetizer was nice as it came with three large portions which is great for a group. Shrimp and grits entree was good, but I felt could use more flavor and was a small portion of grits for all the shrimp that was provided. Overall- food was good, but I didn't feel like was worth the price. Glass of wine were about $18 and up which is normal for the area, but if I'm going to spend this much money for a nice dinner I have some other spots I would go first.
