With Summer in the air, my partner and I have been craving street tacos (specifically shrimp) and margaritas on a patio. We came upon Maiz Taqueria in our hunt and I am glad we did! The tacos were perfection and the margarita was perfectly strong and refreshing. The patio seating was also super fun and perfect with the warm evening weather. The service was also notable, both folks who helped us out were lovely and made the whole place feel warm and welcoming!! Overall, it was all delicious, just a bit pricier than we'd have liked to pay for street tacos and a margarita :(

So glad to see that Maiz has opened a location in Ballard, I used to frequent their market location when I lived in belltown. I ordered the chicken tinga tacos and my boyfriend got the carnitas burrito. The highlight is definitely their fresh tortillas, which reminded me of the ones we had in Mexico. The tacos were packed with flavor. The ambience is colorful and fun.The service is incredible, they gave us some samples to try while we were waiting.

Good food good breakfast and nice vibe in this place. Ladies were all helpful and friendly. Probably a bit pricier than needed. Only purchased one meal and it came out to be like $26 for chilaquiles plate. It was good though.

I could have taken a flight to Mexico in the time it took to get my two tacos. Seriously, what a bizarre experience. Seattle is so disappointing these days. Bad service, overpriced, and lackluster food is everywhere.

Easily one of the best 5 taco shops of the 25 places I've tried in Seattle this decade! Rebranded to "Maiz Taqueria" from "Sazon Kitchen" in January 2024, all four tacos that I had for lunch today were good! The chicken (4/5 stars) was a fairly standard taco, but al pastor (5/5), birria (5/5), and carnitas (5/5) were great! Unfortunately, they were sold out of carnitas. I was also disappointed that the wait staff were slammed which made service (4/5 stars) slow, we were first in line for over ten minutes while we waited to order. The ambiance was nice, it seems like they've changed the external decor quite a bit for the rebrand/rename/purchase of this restaurant!

Got takeaway from Maiz and the food exceeded my expectations. I had the diabla shrimp and the al pastor tacos. The tacos came out quickly and both were flavorful and delicious. The shrimp taco especially was filled with so much ingredients. I was also very pleasantly surprised at how nicely the corn tortillas held up despite travel.

Wow, that was delicious! We sat in the covered patio which was perfect with our toddler. Everyone there was so nice and the food was great. My husband said the horchata was the best he'd ever had, and the torta was amazing. I had tacos and each was delicious, though I think the pastor was my favorite. Yes, the prices are higher than a truck but it's very worth it for the quality of the meats and the ambiance. Mine meal was a special and for under $20 I got a giant plate of food. Oh, and the tortillas were delicious! We'll definitely be going back.

The place is festive and clean. Staff are very friendly and nice. The food was good, but the blue tortilla was awesome. I asked, and they said they made it in a house.

Omg I'm so glad Maiz opened up in Ballard! I had no idea until I saw some random instagram pop up and promptly went the next day. We only had a few tacos - two asada and one pastor, and they were probably the best tacos I've had in Seattle! The tortillas are so good and flavorful, and the meats were super tender! I normally don't love pastor but I loved theirs, and the asada was good too! It had potato too which was a nice surprise, and they douse the tacos in salsa. Their tacos are $3.85 each with an additional $1-$1.25 for the specialty tacos like fish and shrimp. They also have a brunch menu and really great weekly specials! So excited this is nearby - will def be here often especially in the summer with the outdoor seating!
