Maiz de la vida is a food truck located at the same address as chopper tiki bar. just off galatin). You have the choice of to-go or eating at the bar inside.First off, the food is excellent. The man at the window recommended the quesabirria and I'm glad he did. Ordering the consume is a must!Despite all the dining options in Nashville they managed to make the Tennesseans top 25 restaurants last year. They do have a second physical location on Clarksville pike, but I can't imagine the food is any better than the food truck!I will definitely be repeating!Friendly service, great food, fair prices!

Gotta love a super bomb food truck parked outside of a super bomb bar!I only got to try the flautas, since we were heading to dinner shortly after leaving the bar, but I hope to one day return to the Maíz De La Vida food truck to taste each and every item on the menu! The quality and flavors of the flautas lead me to believe that everything on the menu is probably phenomenal.

Finally swung in Chopper for a few Sunday afternoon cocktails and of course, once I got down drink #1, the stomach was rumbling so naturally I headed up to Maiz De La vida for some delicious Mexican grub! Maiz De La vida is a local Mexican food truck that has a wonderful partnership with Chopper in East Nashville. Chopper slings the drinks, Maiz De La vida serves the food! They have a pretty expansive menu for a food truck that includes tacos of all kinds, quesadillas, quesabirria, taco/burrito bowls, churros and even family packs of all the goods. Prices are borderline expensive, but quality, portion size and quickness of service make it all worth it. Given their location with Chopper, seating is indoor or outdoor, and they even track you down and deliver to your table. Service is solid, friendly and fast. From the window to the table, the fellas in the truck were great! The vibe of the truck and vibe of Chopper really mix well. No one would immediately put Tiki and Mexican together, but it is a pairing that works! Overall, great food truck. Glad to have them in the neighborhood!

The food is SO GOOD here that it brought me and my husband (probably too much) joy! The flavors lit up our mouths! My husband is half Mexican, and we've travelled to Mexico a few times and bemoan the lack of flavor here in the states. Maiz De La Vida scratches that itch for us! The flavors are out of this world! We are at their little tortilla shop, and brought home pints of molè, enchilada sauce, corn, and flour tortillas. I told you we got too excited! We also did catering with them for an event with a group of friends, which I HIGHLY recommend if you care about the people you're feeding. Excellent food elevates gatherings, and will make your event stand out. We're lifers :)

These are the BEST Taco's in Nashville. Enjoyed the "Quesabirria Tacos" with shredded beef. You have got to pay the $2.00 extra for the sauce/gravy to dip your Tacos in. You will never forget the delicious flavor. Can't wait to go again. We live in Williamson County and East Nashville to get to the Taco Truck is a bit of a hike. Have noticed new locations are being added. Thrilled for your success.

Was introduced to Maíz De La Vida by some friends that live in Nashville and it was my personal favorite out of all the amazing restaurants we went to in this city! Following our friends' suggestions, we went with beef quesabirria and elote. We originally tried ordering four orders of beef quesabirria, but fortunately the kind lady at the counter was watching out for our best interests and suggested we get the family platter instead. It's a better deal if you are here with 4-5 people. The platter comes with sixteen quesabirria tacos, a quart of consommé, and enough hot sauce, limes, onions, and cilantro to keep you happy. I cannot express how perfect these quesabirrias are-- there's noticeable quality in each of the individual ingredients, from the juicy wagyu beef to the perfectly crisped-up corn tortillas to the delightfully stringy cheese. And don't get me started on the consommé-- if I drowned in this rich, savory goodness I'd die happy. We were a group of four and each ate four quesabirria tacos and may have hurt ourselves a little by the end, but was definitely worth it. Would consider bringing a fifth person for the next time though. Would suggest doing yourself a favor and making a stop here if you haven't already! I'll be back for sure.

I wanted to update my review and explain that although I still 100% give this place 5 stars, the best Birria Tacos are not here, but actually at Tacos y Mariscos El Amigo in Nolensville. Those are just bigger, crispier, and more flavorful. However, if you're looking for great Birria with consommé this is still an awesome place to go.

Great place to have some birria. We learned of this place from Somebody Feed Phil and we were not disappointed. The staff was kind and the truck was very clean. The food may have been a little pricey, but the quality was amazing. The taco was crunchy, perfectly spiced, and very cheesy. The best birria I've had.

We had a dinner for 24 catered by MDLV. We ordered the Quesabirre Tacos, the chicken fajitas, the chicken enchiladas, rice, beans, and churros. Everything was absolutely delicious! The only small complaint would be the "soupy" beans. We in California eat our beans cooked but whole and if they are refried, they are much thicker and just lightly mashed. That's the only thing I would suggest they change. The food in general was not greasy and we weren't left feeling like we had a lead weight in our stomachs. It was fresh and delicious. The salsa was very spicy but good, but when I say spicy I mean spicy. We also ordered the chaffing dishes as seen on their site, and they did a great job keeping the food nice and warm. All in all, MDLV did an amazing job with food and delivery. Thank you!
