Maggy’s Family Mexican Restaurant

I came here for lunch and it was a great meal! It's a small but cute restaurant and one of the better options in Gold Bar. The lunch portions for the quesadilla and chimichanga were perfect. They serve homemade tortilla chips that are a bit thick but delicious. Our server Alvaro was friendly and funny.

Great and very tasty food. I ordered the Molcajete with chicken, steak and shrimp. So much food but so good. We were greeted with a nice bowl of salsa and warm chips and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The took real good care of my family and the restaurant was cozy and clean.

Ingredients continue to be fresh and authentic. The portions are generous. The facilities are brightly decorated and clean. The location is convenient. great hospitality is spot on! We will return.

Stopped by on our way home from camping and the food didn't disappoint! Had the pastor street tacos and arroz con Pollo. Will definitely stop through again if up this way and would highly recommend to anyone looking for legit Mexican food!​​

Going to Maggy's was a wonderful experience. Staying at a cabin close by we decided to make a trip into town and have our last dinner here and we are so glad we did! Service was friendly and efficient, the food tasted amazing and had good portions, and the restaurant itself self was very family oriented and clean.

tldr: I won't be coming backFood was okay, it was fresh off the grill and felt authenticI liked the small town vibe and glad it has ample amount of parkingI thought service was okay, he got our order wrong but quickly fixed it. However when the bill came, I provided a custom tip and the waiter told me that we were required to choose an option stated in the bill. (18-25%) I'm shocked they could even suggest that. We asked to clarify what he meant, he gave us attitude, and backtracked on it. I saw some other reviews mentioning this as well so this doesn't look like an isolated incident.

The restaurant was very flexible about substitutions and very prompt with getting out orders on a Thursday noon at least. The food was good. It was a good lunch stop for a day trip out of the big city.

Great authentic Mexican food and wonderful service. The ambiance is great and very clean. A great place to stop after a hike! I would highly recommend.

Avoid at all cost. They used to be good. We'd been there a few times and it was good. They lost their liquor license for 6+ months. We went there for dinner after and the server dropped of the chips and salsa, and then didn't come back for 20 minutes at which point we just left. We decided to give them another chance and ordered some takeout. My carne asada had an 8" strand of hair under the beef. I go to Lala's food truck instead if I want good Mexican food.
