Was there tonight for a indie/folk concert, music was amazing but venue vibe went from fine to horrible. Was there with two other people, random guy behind us must've been wired or something and started making aggressive comments at my boyfriend and friend. Was getting angry at us for somehow both not pushing other people forward enough but also getting back into his space (?). That then escalates to him touching my boyfriend and our friends arms and backs and making further uncomfy and aggressive comments including things along the lines of "this is great keep going" and "I like this do you like this" etc. We had been and continued to be in the exact same spot the entire concert. He also threatened to knock our friend out at one point for "constantly spilling" an imaginary drink. For context I was sober and my friend and bf had one glass of beer each all night, we were not being crazy, and we definitely were not spilling drinks. Clearly drew a scene as everyone directly around in an already pretty loose crowd was looking and others came up after the show to ask wtf happened. Security was maybe ten ft away if not less on the stairs and did nothing while this played out over the course of most of the main act, up until the end. Entire show was spent anxious and trying to avoid conflict while someone kept confronting us over something that was not happening. My friend, boyfriend, and I were extremely on edge throughout the show and the one thing I can say is that I am glad I was w my bf and guy friend rather than a group of my girls because it would've felt even more unnerving. Major let down from venue staff and I'm left curious why they even hired crowdwatch/security in the first place.

This is a great venue to listen to "up and coming" bands. Small and accommodating, everyone was friendly. Dream Logic, a local band from Wallingford was why I purchased tickets, and they didn't let me down. They were fantastic, with an exciting lead singer who plays the viola. That's right, a friggen viola. The lead guitarist and bass player were also quite good. However, I felt the drummer was the weak link. Dream Logic will be internationally famous in the near future, and Madame Lou's is a place that will encourage you to say, "I saw them first at this little venue on Wall Street.

A very cosy basement dance club. Staff was friendly, bartender was good, security was solid. The main floor is wide but not deep, so you are REALLY REALLY CLOSE to the artists which is incredible. I think we were maybe 20 feet away, and we were at the back of the main dance floor. We saw Worakls here last night, an excellent show and very highly recommended (DJ + violinist, cellist, and guitarist). Warmup local DJ Samadhi Flow was terrific. I would say the sound quality was OK. It may have been the mixing but the bass was pretty heavy consistently through (...dance club...) and the midrange and high end were pretty muffled. Worakls makes beautiful music so I missed hearing the ranges in their instruments. If you are debating bringing your hearing protection... bring it. I didn't and wished I had.Lighting was functional (good, you could see the band, etc. but felt like there was a lot directed right in our eyes, too.) Strobe sensitive folks might want to take precautions.Brian C.'s review is totally spot on - the club is very difficult if you are mobility impaired. There are a few booths (not all of which have a view of the stage) and a small padded bench that runs along the outside of the dance floor. No chairs, and no seating from which it's easy to see the stage. Basically stand or don't see. I was able to get a seat on the bench and sit/stand when I needed to, but the taller people in front of me blocked most of the view of the stage.Club was not too hot, and not too crowded, but also not sold out (Sunday night). No coat check.

Fun concert intimate setting. Don't leave a tab open better yet don't use a card. You will get charged for drinks you did not buy and when you call to dispute they will just tell you that you are wrong.

Potentially great venue for seeing favorite bands up close. Sound is decent, drinks and taps are ok, seating is almost nonexistent. Security is good. This is a very difficult venue to enter if you are mobility impaired; long stairs down into the room await you. This almost killed the evening, but we managed.Nope: what sunk it for me was the utter lack of ventilation or climate control. Our sold out show had us packed shoulder to shoulder, sweating bullets, and (by the end) feeling dizzy and gasping for fresh air. We left early and missed the encore.Pretty sure, from the attitudes of the staff I encountered, that they don't care; but if they don't fix this, someone could be hurt. If you or someone in your group is sensitive to heat exhaustion or has breathing problems, reconsider. Not recommended at this time, sadly.

Worst concert experience, EVER. Was it the band, no. Was it the ambiance, no. All of that was great and Bartenders were Johny on the spot for drinks. So what was it...there is zero, I mean zero ventilation. Dangerously so. Made it so uncomfortable, it was hard to enjoy the show. It had to be over 100 degrees in this place. No joke. Everyone was complaining about the heat, even the band. I would have left, but had to wait for encore to hear my two favorite songs of this band. I would think twice about going to this place for concert entertainment. It will have to be a really special band for me to go there ever again. Which is too bad because it is really a cool venue.

I saw a great band here and loved that it was a small, intimate venue. That said, it was easily 90-95 degrees inside (on an October night). No ventilation or AC to speak of. the singer way dying, it was so hot (and he commented on it). all my friends were sweating, just standing there. Madame Lou's really need to fix this if they want anyone to return a second time.

Fantastic venue, great sound but definitely need air conditioning or more air circulation. It was overly warm and steamy; I felt sorry for the band as the stage was so hot for the!
