Friend and I waited in line for about 10 minutes for our drinks during the boba fest, similar to the time I waited for the same drink during cherry blossom viewing back in March. Definitely needed to try here again and give this place a proper and more recent review!Friend and I got the golden leaf tea drink at 50% sweetness and with 3Q (which is boba, coconut jelly and agar jelly), and it comes with a fabric drink carrier, which made the drink more aesthetically pleasing to look at. Everything with this drink in particular was well-made, the 3Q I added in compensated for the 50% sweetness I asked for in the drink! Drink felt very fresh and you could definitely taste the tea in it.I'll definitely come back here to get more of their other drinks, though like last time I might be tempted again to get their golden leaf tea, it's just too good!

Great drink on a hot summer day. Mango blended with jelly, coconut milk. No parking at this location but there is street parking. Seating is available with numerous tables and chairs.

I saw Macu Tea during my trip last year to Taiwan and was surprised to see they had opened in the states. Staff are friendly and there's a few tables to sit around. I got the golden leaf tea at 50% sweetness. The golden leaf tea is a cross between green and black tea as described by the staff. It was like a lighter four season tea which is on the earthy side. The sweetness level was perfect and you could tell the tea was present. The drinks also come with a fabric/plastic sling which is perfect to carry your drink around. Will definitely come back!

The ordering was easy and efficient and my drink was tasty. They were out of boba but the QQ noodles were good. I was a bit confused about why they upcharged me for them when the boba that would be included in the one I ordered wasn't available but meh. The cup was cute and they gave me a really nice holder. I'd definitely come back and they have a lot of little spots to sit.

Makes walking around with your drink very convenient and easy to hold multiple drinks at a time (shown in photo)My cousin and I tried the:1) mango smoothie with agar boba (seasonal, in photo) which includes green tea jelly and FRESH mango pieces 2) Sunshine Li Li tea (adjustable sweetness, not pictured) which is orange and passion fruit with freshly squeezed juice !!! (Slightly sour)Total for both: ~$16You can really taste the freshness of the ingredients. I rarely love a fruit tea and I would say that these were both delicious. There is seating (although usually full), cute decor to take pictures with your drinks, and big windows to let in natural light! Top 3 boba places in the area for sure.

If I had a favorite boba shop in U District, it's this one! The store also has a beautiful, spacious interior that wouldn't make you feel crowded like all the other boba shops.I would like to give a A+ to the person who did the marketing. The website is beautiful, the menu is clear, and I feel like I'm walking out with high quality drinks.

Located in UW among many other boba shops, I tried this place out as I work my way down the list of boba places here. I got the golden leaf milk tea with chi-chi (cheese foam) and 3Q (boba, coconut jelly, and bo-bo (agar)). I opted for 30% sugar and 30% ice, but it was still a bit too sweet for me. Perhaps. this is because the 3Q topping has added sugar, but it was just a bit too sweet overall. I enjoyed the tea flavor from the golden leaf milk tea, and the boba texture is fairly solid. I liked the coconut jelly and agar that added additional texture, something that I usually do not go out of the way adding as it is pricey, but I decided to still give it a try as the order is placed under my team. Overall, this is a solid boba spot, and currently, they have a Peanuts / Snoopy collaboration so you may get some of those designed cups!

We got the king mango smoothie and the grape smoothie. It was all so refreshing. The mango is definitely fresh - there were literally crates of mangoes sitting in the store. And the drink itself had mango chunks in it. The creaminess with all the toppings, and the burst of i think grapefruit pulp is such a good touch. There's a lot going on with the drink and all of it is good. The wait time was a bit but we just chilled - there weren't much staff and there was a decent flow of people so makes sense.

A hidden gem in U-districts boba scene!!! I love MACU tea. Their menu is extensive and there's something for everyone, milk tea, fresh fruit teas WITH PULP!!!, and much more.I tried their Lili tea, which was so refreshing and had fresh fruit pulp it. It was like having a healthier topping option in my tea. I also tried their golden leaf milk tea with boba. their boba is delicious, mildly sweet, and cooked perfectly, not too hard and not too soft, just right! the drink was also very pleasant, kind of a lighter green milk tea.they were also doing a cute snoopy collab, and have special cups that are adorable!

The Bo-Bo Strawberry smoothie was bomb! Soooo yummy, fresh, and flavorful. Bright open shop with a large menu and seating available as well as a customer bathroom. The drink was amazing however the service does need some improvement. Staff didn't seem to be in the best mood and not very friendly/approachable to ask questions so I grabbed the wrong straw accidentally not knowing I should have grabbed a bigger one to thoroughly enjoy the drink I chose lol. I would consider returning because of the tasty beverage but hopefully the service improves so don't know when I'll return as other shops in the area are much friendlier to me tbh.
