Machias Grocery

Worst experience ever. I have been going to this store since it was first built when I was a kid. I go in today to buy some hot case items and say hi to my sisiter that works there. My friend and I go up to pay for our items and have one of their staff members named Shirley start accusing me of making racist comments at two of their black staff members who I went to high school with and we didn't get along. I told her that she was wrong and I wouldn't stand there and be accused of that and that it was bs. She then insists that her staff member named Whitney is telling the truth and that I can just get the fuck out of her store. So I did cuss at her in the end which was not adult of me but look what I just dealt with.

I stopped off to get gas, snacks and propane. I paid for my gas and snacks then went outside to get the propane tank filled when done I asked the girl if she could put the tank in my car for me because I have a back injury. The girl looked at me and said " I'm not doing that" extremely rude. I said then do you have someone who can because I have a back injury, she said we don't do that and I told her I go there every month to fill my tank and have never had a problem with them putting the tank in my car. I went inside to pay for my propane and let the other older lady know how rude the girl was being towards me and that is not the way to treat your customers. She said to me "im a bitch then" . I couldn't believe my ears or the fact they thought it was ok to treat and speak to their customers like that. I have always been treated so nice everytime I've stopped on to get gas, but not this time. They said the guys will do that for you after two pm. This was the worst treatment toward me as a customer I have ever experienced in my life. I'm 54yrs of age never have been treated so disrespectful. I get my gas and fill my propane tank there all the time over the last two years. They just lost me as a monthly customer. Note: to the owner you should fire that young girl who thinks its ok to cuss and treat customers so disrespectful.

Clean, huge selection of pre made snacks in the cooler, all sorts of drinks. But the best part...beautifully fried chicken !! Absolutely delicious. Tenders, wings, breasts, thighs. Also have a selection of corn dogs and a few other fried delights. Lots of sauce packets as well. Just a pass thru on the way to friend in Machias, gotta day this place is always a stop for a snack. Even on the way to lunch!

New owners took over at least a year ago... the staff is very friendly, the store is very clean and organized and they are open longer hours and still have the best chicken strips!!

I wish I could give them less than one star. -5 is more accurate. Unsanitary is the word that best describes this establishment. Service is terrible. I hope that you steer clear.

The owner treats their workers like shit. Hostile work environment all around. They change their cooking oil once a month (know people who work there) will never recommend to anyone.

Terrible service went to get some hot case food and the girl was busy the whole time she noticed me but didn't say nothing then she comes up and says have you made up you're mind on what you want you're just looking around what you gonna get, a hi could i help you would have been nice from the start but I bet they ain't even paying you're broke ass enough to even say that never going back to them crossed eyed weirdos

Great fried chicken!!! But I won't be eating there anymore.Why, you may ask.Well, just take a look at the bathroom. Don't go inside, just open the door and look in.Absolutely filthy! The sink looks like it hasn't seen a good clean in years. The floor behind the sink is disgusting. The corners of the floor are caked in filth. To think that the employees actually use that stink-hole then prepare the food..... Yuk!!I informed the manager but just got, "Whatever".

This place has it all, but the real winner is the fried chicken in their deli.They make if fresh all day from raw chicken & their own batter.People make a special trip just for the chicken.Seriously, you must try it.

Fast friendly 76 gas station. Offers kickback points. Its location is ideal because its far out in machias, Im glad I have a convienent place to get propane, gas, or if I run out of milk.
