Machete Azteca

This is place is OK.Been there a few times (if you're ever in Spectrum Mall, it's better than McDonalds) but it's not like my favorite Mexican Restaurant. It's not bad, but nothing about it stands out.Every time I go they are border line running out of salsa, or they are out of salsa. The self serve salsa station would be a better sell if it was actually kept full... The Huaraches are probably the best thing here. I wouldn't bother with the tortas. I got one once, and it was dry. It was the Hawaiian Mexican one too, so that is a crime somewhere I am sure. I think this last time I went I had the most "Meh" experience. Overall, not a bad place, but me personally I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here.

What's the best food in this place ? Their quesadillas and their huarache (beef with onions and jalapeños ) Salsas have a great flavor. They have "flor de calabazas " quesadillas. They are definitely the best ! The atmosphere is not the best I have to admit, but if you take it to go, you won't be disappointed! Which is what I do every time !

This is where I go when I'm craving my new favorite quesadilla: pork brain. Before you make a gross-out face, give is a try. It's quite lovely.At their 35th Avenue location, I've had the pork brain quesadilla as well as their namesake, the red chile machete. Both are filling and delish!

Hand made huaraches and quesadillas. This place is pretty hidden so it's easy to miss but I'm glad I finally decided to try it. The salsas in the bottles are pretty spicy so try it first before pouring tons of salsa on your food. Definitely worth checking it out.

Friendly service, busy but she kept up just fine. Great music had me dancing in my chair. Ordered two street tacos, pollo and carne asada. A bit greasy, but delicious, small just like from a cart on the side of the road. Given two squeeze bottles, green and red. Red is SPICY, I love it. Green not so spicy but its tasty too. Bowl of Menudo is HUGE, served with dry spices and chilies. Had to take most of it to go. Horchata is a little on the sweet side, but good. They have both english and spanish menus, accidentally grabbed the spanish but she answered my questions readily. I'll be sure to drop in when at Christown/Spectrum.

Incredibly disgusting. Took for ever to get our food. Coffee was cold, order was wrong, food was horrible, not Mexican in any way shape or form. Grilled steak with onions was mostly onion and no steak. Huevos rancheros was the equivalent of eggs covered in Tabasco sauce. The gorditas was a deep fried corn tortilla dripping oil. Was charged more than the items were priced on the menu and when mentioned to the waitress she was not happy. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE COME BACK.

Wow what a surprise!! This place is good. Nothing fancy but great authentic flavors. Had the pork quesadilla.... life changer. Lol. Will definitely be coming back.

I usually come to this place at least once a month but I think this might be the last one, I had to wait at least 30 min for my food, plus awful customer service. (The employees are just on their phones and talking/laughing to each other) not happy at all.
